English Setters
Thank you to the society for the opportunity to judge at this beautiful, scenic show and to my two stewards who kept the ring running smoothly.
My main observation is that exhibits generally lacked good muscle tone and fitness that is so beneficial in a galloping breed. Temperaments were good and mouths on the whole seem to be less of a worry than when I previously judged.
Puppy
1st Beasleys Latjeata Jack's The Lad. 10 month old blue with good proportions, smaller overall frame and I hope he grows on. Pleasing head with dark eye. Reachy neck into well laid shoulder. Has good depth throughout. Excellent bone. Level in topline and has well angulated hindquarters. A little erratic on the move today.
Junior
1st Williams Wandsfell Keep Me Close. Orange 16 months and very much at that inbetween teenage stage. He has a beautiful typical head and expression, well defined stop. Lean skull. Neck is long and muscular into reasonable front assembly. straight front with ok bone. Needs to develop in hindquarters and spring of rib. Level in topline. Would prefer him to have more drive on the move.
Yearling
1st Whittingtons Culverwell Magic Touch. Attractive well proportioned head. Dark oval eye. Well angulated front and rear. Excellent rounded bone. Scores in forechest. Needs to put more into his movement as was a little uncoordinated and sluggish on the move today.

1st Pitts Wandsfell Dreamkeeper. Pleasing young tri. Masculine throughout. Has a balanced head, Firm in topline, excellent quality bone. Still a young dog and just needs that maturity to finish which I’m sure he will.
2nd Darleys Severnsett Gold Sovereign. Super head and expression. He has excellent depth thoughout, clean in outline. Good spring of rib. Moderate hindquarters. I just felt that 1 was a little more positive in hind action today.
