Breed: Spaniel (English Springer)

Spaniel (English Springer)

My thanks to the exhibitors who entered under me today, I was honoured to award my first set of tickets in the breed. My first breed I ever owned. The breed has changed some since the days back when I was first around Springers in the late 90’s/early 00’s. Some lovely dogs on show today, the only issue that really worried me was close behinds and loose hocks. I was so happy to find out after judging that my Best of Breed was indeed crowned today which I wasn’t aware of, but also that she was the 100th champion bred/owned by the famous Sandylands kennel. Congratulations to Trudy on the wins today, and Lewis with the RCC wins.

1st: 2250 KIBBY, Mr Christopher Pinhays Pride And Joy. On the stack gives the profile silhouette of an English Springer, pleasing head and expression. She just needs a little more energy on the move, but she covers the ground nicely.

1st: 2247 JENKINSON, Mrs K Eastriding Royal Gold. A young male who is in his last show I understand as a puppy. He is a dog shown in the hardest of condition and presented immaculately. His head is pleasing and well proportioned. He is well bodied and put together. He was a little exuberant at times today and gave his handler some work. He is a great dog with a bright future I am sure.

2nd: 2269 WATTS, Miss Pearl Peasblossom Eros.

1st: 2264 TOPLISS, Mrs T E Beresford Stand N' Stare. A young liver and white male. He has the most attractive of heads and expression, he can cover the ground with ease and is built well. What you feel when you go over for him he definitely shows on the move. He is confident and could not today be denied the RCC.

2nd: 2257 SUCH, Miss J A Gleadsbury Whataboy At Mujascal. This boy is a classical style, he has a lovely head with good workings in his head. He is well put together, again a little exuberant, but when he settles he can cover the ground well and looks good overall.

1st: 2244 HILL, Mrs Clare Teignvalley New Beginnings Jw. A Black and white boy that I have admired before. He is not overdone in anyway, he has a melting expression and beautiful dark eye. He is conditioned well, and has a good depth of rib cage with a good length of loin. I would just like a fraction more extension in his front movement, but he can still cover the ground well.

1st: 2273 WILLIAMS, Mrs Jenny & TOUBLIC, Mrs Daisy & TOUBLIC Cobhay Dashing Dandelion JW. A liver and white male who definitely shows his masculinity, a head which I would not want any more of, but is not overdone. He has good rib and covers the ground well.

1st: 2271 WEYMAN, Mrs J More Than Amazing Wanna Be A Gangster At Spuffing. A LWT boy who does power round the ring with ease. He has plenty in his muzzle. He is well built, and hard in condition.

2nd: 2268 WARRENER, Mrs H Eastfalla Sherlockholmes. A nice black and white, he has some good virtues about him, his tail set and carriage is just a tad low in the croup.

1st: 2262 TOPLISS, Mrs T E Sh Ch Beresford Lockdown. A dog I have admired before, and when you put your hands on him, he does not disappoint at all. He has a pleasing head with good definition. He has a good return of upper arm. He is shown in excellent condition and is handled advantage by his handler. His reach and drive are amazing and he is true away and back. I could not today deny him the Dog CC.

2nd: 2261 TOPLISS, Mrs T E Sh Ch Sandylands Stand N Deliver. He has a well-developed head Super body, well built, great depth of forechest which hits you from profile and when you put your hands on him he really impresses. He covers the ground well but today was not always at one with his handler which cost him in the class.

1st: 2272 WEYMAN, Mrs J Spuffing Bellini. A promising liver and white. She is an honest springer, with a pleasing head and beautiful expression. She is well put together, moves well covering the ground with ease which is what was her fortune for winning Best Puppy In Breed today.

2nd: 2248 JENKINSON, Mrs K Eastriding Royal Style. Another quality bitch who was unfortunate to meet the class winner today. She has the most feminine head, I would like a slightly darker eye which I’m sure will come with age. She is well put together in terms of her construction, and she can also cover the ground well on the move. She just needs a fraction more maturity with age, and I am sure she will flourish into a beautiful bitch.

3rd: 2239 DE CARTERET, Miss D G Dexbenella Believin Dreams At Derrindee

JB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2253 NICKLIN, Mr Lewis Daenerys Girl On Fire At Dexbenella. A young bitch who is honest enough and still got plenty to do as she matures, but she is well put together. She is in the hardest of condition. She can certainly cover the ground with ease and super reach and drive, she carries her tail well and holds a good topline. Today she kept taking my eye in the challenge, and I could not deny her the Reserve CC.

2nd: 2242 HAVARD, Miss & Mrs L A & P J Annavah Ablaze. Another promising bitch, who has many qualities about her. She does cover the ground well, and is built well. She is a bitch of some quality, who I am sure has a bright future.

1st: 2243 HILL, Mrs Clare Teignvalley Rags To Riches Jw. This black and white girl is beautifully presented. She has a lovely head with a dark eye. She carries a good topline. I would just like a little more reach in her front on the move. She is well conditioned bitch.

2nd: 2252 KIBBY, Mrs J I Pinhays Princess Sarah. The bitch has a good depth of rib with a good spring, she moves relatively well on the go.

1st: 2274 WILLIAMS, Mrs Jenny & TOUBLIC, Mrs Daisy & TOUBLIC Cobhay Heavenly Hydrangea JW JCH BE. Feminine head, dark eye. Her shoulders are well laid back. She has good rib, she is a little longer in cast. She moves OK.

LB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2254 SAVELL, Ms Christine Petranella Tipping The Wink JW. A liver and white girl who has a pleasing headpiece. She has well laid back shoulders. She has a lovely depth of forechest and spring of rib. She can cover the ground well. She is slightly longer in body. She moved well covering the ground with ease. She was in relatively good condition. She was considered for RCC for sure.

2nd: 2241 HAVARD, Miss & Mrs L A & P J Annavah Aquarius. Another quality liver and white bitch, who is of a slightly different mould to the winner, but still has many virtues to appreciate. She can cover the ground well, but she does need a little bit more energy behind her to really just snatch that class win.

3rd: 2270 WEYMAN, Mrs J Spuffing Prosecco

Res: 2246 JENKINSON, Mrs K Barecho Fame Queen At Eastriding (swe Imp)

OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2260 TOPLISS, Mrs T E Sandylands Send My Love. This bitch is in my opinion an honest bitch, she is not extreme and she is not flashy. The only flashy thing about her is the amount of white she has on her which does require your hands to look past what your eye may see to appreciate her virtues and qualities. She has the most feminine and pleasing head with a beautiful eye and expression. She has a well laid back shoulder that leads into a deep forechest and well sprung ribs. She has a good length of loin. She is a girl who when she then moves cannot half cover the ground with reach and drive, her tail carried straight out and wagging all the way. Her movement and her construction was what then made my decision to award her Bitch CC and subsequently Best of Breed. She did not disappoint in the group and put on the most excellent of shows.

2nd: 2256 SMITH, Mr R J Sh Ch Melverly Iridescent. A bitch I have previously admired and awarded well. She has the most beautiful headpiece, with gorgeous eye colour. She has well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, and length of loin. She is shown in the hardest of condition. On the move however today she was not fully at one with her handler, and sometimes was not as fluid as I have seen her move in the past. She is still one of the breeds quality specimens, just today she was not at her full potential.
