My sincere thanks to the committee for my appointment to judge at this beautiful venue and to my ring stewards Marion Jamison & Victoria Herbert for keeping the ring running smoothly (not easy in the strong winds). Thankfully apart from the strong winds the weather remained good. Special thanks must go to the exhibitors providing such a wonderful entry full of quality dogs who were so well presented and for accepting my decisions on the day so sportingly.

1st McIntyres, Shirebears Mystify with Edbear

What a lovely Brown boy to start the day. Almost 3 yrs and takes the eye for size, balance and type. Clean head, broad muzzle, good eye colour in keeping with coat. Muscular neck well set onto the shoulders. While he has a shorter upper arm than preferred his does have close-fitting elbows a well boned front onto strong pasterns and well-padded feet. Deep chest, good length and spring of rib which I could just feel to an ideal coupling. Broad back to a good tail set in line with the croup. Well-muscled upper thighs & firm hocks. Moved out quite freely and without effort keeping a level topline and in complete harmony with his handler, correct tail carriage. Excellent presentation completed the picture. More to come from this boy as he matures on.

1st Blakes, Ch Sandbears Masterpiece

5yr old Black in his prime, medium sized he has such a well-balanced and unexaggerated frame with an undeniable ring presence that constantly draws the eye. Lovely clean textbook head, small dark almond eye, small ears and correct placement enhancing expression. Well set muscular neck. Front is well boned & straight to strong pasterns and deep well shaped padded feet, good lay of shoulder with plenty of heart room. Deep chest, close fitting elbows and a good spring of rib extending back to a correct loin. Great depth throughout, level topline to well-set slightly sloping croup & thick tail of correct length. Powerful, muscular, well angulated rear, to short well let down hocks. Moved consistently well with good reach and effortless rear power. A joy to watch him at one with his handler and ran at the correct speed, full dense straight coat immaculately presented completed the picture. BD, BOB.

2nd Chapmans, Ch Nandobears You’ll Never Walk Alone (IMP DEU)

Not quite three years and so much to like. Not surprisingly this lovely upstanding boy has already achieved so much. Full of breed type, stood well balanced & four square. broad skull, muzzle with a lip just a fraction deeper than I preferred. Eye of good colour and shape, Excellent well set muscled neck. Well boned straight front, plenty of width all though and good angulation, good spring of rib, just a fraction longer in proportion than 1, excellent croup tail & rear angulation, to short well let down hocks giving to plenty of rear drive and true coming towards keeping a level topline. Excellent presentation and handled to perfection. RBD.

1st Dicksons Zentaur Der Kapitan Wisperdomen JW ShCM ShCEx VW

Last judged this wonderful 8yr veteran some year ago, he continues to present such excellent outline when stacked with nothing exaggerated to the eye, well balanced. He has great size and huge bone. Beautiful clean head with a good eye and ear, strong neck correct shoulders and tight-fitting elbows. Great depth of chest, well ribbed going back to a short coupling. Lovely rear angles used well on the move. In lovely condition with excellent presentation and so well handled, I just felt he was feeling the heat a little on the day. BV

1st Bulls Sandbears Visual Art

Six-month-old Black and only at her 2nd show, tail wagging she was full of confidence, impressive for one so young, so pretty with a lovely eye enhancing her expression, already well-balanced angles and a perfect weight enabled her to really move with super reach and drive, she really used her growing frame well, holding an impressive topline. Super presentation & confident handling to match. Should mature on well and I will watch her future with interest.

1st Duffs Titanbears Requiem

At just 13 months I found this young Black lady quite enchanting. Very promising qualities already. A beautiful head, eye and expression, lovely bone, good front and rear angles with nothing exaggerated well-muscled and once she got into her stride and gained her confidence, she has a lovely balanced extension and plenty of drive keeping a level topline with correct tail cartridge. Fabulous coat condition & presentation and very well handled. I look forward to seeing how this girl matures on.

1st Duffs Titanbears Pious Charlatan

3 years old Black and still maturing, good size, unexaggerated, clean face, dark eye and a small ear. Well balanced front and rear, tight fitting elbows, correct 2:1 ratio to coupling. Sound coming towards and going away. Excellent presentation and handling. Another that should mature on well.

1st Bulls Ch Sandbears What Ya Fancy at Ravenshore

Headed a quality class. Black of 4 yrs, coming to her prime who took my eye as soon as she entered the ring, unexaggerated and full of correct breed type with a classic feminine head and which gave a soft expression. Well laid shoulders with plenty of width all through the rib with a tabletop topline and well rear to well let down hocks. Beautifully presented dense straight coat top. Handled well, moved true and straight from all angles with an easy unhindered stride and correct foot placement, certainly gave the impressive male a run for his money in the challenge. BB

2nd Haresigns Will Of The Emporers Could This Be Love (Imp ESP)

5 yrs Black & one I have admired from the ringside, now in her prime. She has a lovely balance & profile from correct front and rear angulations with nothing hidden hands on. Beautiful head proportions and a good eye. Fabulous bone, good lay of shoulder with close fitting elbows, strong pasterns and well-padded feet. Has great depth in chest and a good spring of rib to a short loin, strong topline carried well, correct tail set in line with croup but just a tendency to carry higher than ideal at time. Well-muscled upper thigh, good turn of stifle and strong hocks which carried her effortlessly around the ring. As the day warmed up even though she was at one with her handler I felt she started to feel the heat compared to 1 losing a little momentum. Excellent presentation and handled with great style. RBB

3rd Duffs Titanbears Fallen Angel JW

So much to like and at 3 yrs the youngest of the line up. Pretty clean well-balanced head with a good eye and ear. Strong neck onto a good lay of shoulder, strong bone and excellent length of foreleg to tight catlike feet. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, broad back and correctly sloping croup. Wide, muscular upper thighs with a well bent stifle and strong hocks. In great condition with a well presented flat dense coat. Well handled. This girl has time on her side as she matures on and fills out her frame.
