Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland

Two Group Championship Show – Saturday 08th November 2025

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge the Dobermann Bitch classes, although the turnout was quite small, partly down to CC’s not being awarded for the breed and with other Champ shows that weekend, I was very pleased with the entries before me. My thanks also go to all exhibitors for their entries and efforts; they are truly appreciated.

Puppy Bitch

1st Place - Krieger's New Illusion (Mr N & Mrs H De Haaff)

Although she stood alone in her class, I found her very smart, showing quality and promise throughout. Lovely balanced head with good fill and length, clean planes and a feminine wedge-shaped muzzle. Dark almond-shaped eye and neat, well-set ears giving a kind expression.

Good forechest and excellent shoulders, correct angulation front and rear, offering balanced construction for her age. Well off for bone without losing elegance, correct feet.

Level topline with good tailset and a nice clean outline. Rich rust markings and overall coat condition very pleasing for a youngster.

Moved steadily with good reach and drive, confident in profile and attentive to her handler. A smart, well-made puppy with good ring presence and plenty of potential for the future, well deserving of her Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Breed.

Junior Bitch

Post Graduate Bitch

1st – Krieger's Mirror Image JW (Miss L Stracey)

Standing alone in her class did nothing to diminish her merit; she is a quality exhibit with a balanced, clean outline and a nicely arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders and a pleasing forechest. Feminine head of correct proportions, showing clean planes, wedge-shaped muzzle, slight stop, and dark, well-set eyes and ears.

Topline is firm and maintained both standing and on the move; good tailset. Well-constructed throughout with substantial bone and correct feet. Rear angulation is strong and used to advantage, producing sound, driving movement with reach and purpose.

A smart, well-presented bitch who shows both balance and strength. I was pleased to award her Best Bitch in Breed, and she narrowly missed out to the Open Dog winner for Best of Breed, a result that could very easily have gone either way.

Limit Bitch

1st - Tuwos Ms B Havin’ (Ms S & Mr W Gulliver & Cochrane)

Another to stand in her class alone. Her head is particularly pleasing, well-proportioned, with clean planes, a nicely shaped wedge muzzle, slight stop, and a dark, expressive eye giving a lovely overall expression.

Neck of reasonable length flows into shoulders of fair lay; topline and tailset acceptable, though movement could be more positive. Hindquarters were adequately developed, moving with some drive. She was carrying slightly more weight on the day than I would like, which softened her overall outline.

Open Bitch

1st - Krieger's in Style JW (Mrs F & Mr K, Miss L Taylor & Stracey)

Stood alone in her class, showed herself with a clean, balanced outline and very good overall condition. Her head is feminine and well-proportioned, with a nicely shaped wedge muzzle, flat cheeks, and a dark almond-shaped eye giving a keen, alert expression. Neck of good length flows into well-laid shoulders, leading to a firm topline and correctly set tail.

Straight front with compact, well-arched feet; balanced fore and hind angulation supporting effortless movement. She moves with drive and purpose, covering the ground well on the move and showing herself confidently for her handler. Pleased to award Reserve Best Bitch in Breed.
