I would like to thank the Northern Japanese Spitz Club for inviting me to judge their Open Show. Thank you also to my efficient steward Mark. I very much enjoyed judging this lovely breed, and thank the exhibitors for their super entry.

Both promising babies.

1. Smith’s KESSAKU TROUBLEMAKER 4 month old baby. Very attractive head with correct eye, Good pigment. Teeth still coming through. Body still developing as you would expect for age. Good feet. Correct tail set & carriage. In good coat for age. BBPIS

2. Church’s SANYINKO NATSU TAYO Another 4 month old pup, little larger that 1 at present. Good body shape. Good tail set & carriage. Good bite, dark eye. Correct feet.

MINOR PUPPY DOG (4/4)

1. Bliss’s BELZBENTLEY AUSSIE PRIDE WITH CHARNEY (IMP AUS) NAF TAF Lovely pup of good shape & size. Good eye, ears & bite. Correct feet, good pigment. In super well presented coat for age. Correct tail set & carriage. Sound & free moving. Topline looked unsettled on the stack but levelled on the move. Very promising pup. BMPIS

2. Aston & Bowen’s GLAMGLOWS TAKES THE BISCOFF Larger pup with correct eye, good ears, correct bite & pigment. Good body shape & well made. Good tail set & carriage. In excellent well presented coat. Free moving. I just preferred the overall balance of 1 but both promising youngsters.

1. Turner’s MAYUMI’S TSUYOSHI Very nice boy with dark correct shape eyes, good ears & bite. Good pigment. Lovely head balance with correct skull. Good body shape with moderate angulation either end. Correct tail set & carriage. Free moving in profile but needs to tighten up in front. In super well presented coat for age.

1. Bliss’s CHARNEY MR MARVELOUS Super young boy of good shape & size. Lovely head balance with good ears and correct bite, but would prefer darker eye to complete the picture. Balanced standing & on the move. Correct body shape & topline. Moderate angulation either end. Good feet. Correct tail set & carriage. Well presented & free moving.

2. Turner’s DARYL BELLA NEVE FOR MAYUMI (IMP UKR) Larger boy with attractive head, but eye could be darker. Well set ears, good pigment. Well presented in good coat. Unsettled rear movement.

LIMIT DOG (3/1)

1. Aston & Bowen’s CHARNEY TALK OF THE TOWN AT GLAMGLOW I liked this boy very much, & he was unlucky to be up against the veteran for best male. Lovely shape & size, beautiful balanced head with neat ears, correct shape dark eye, good bite, correct pigment. Lovely expression. Good shape & size. Good feet. Correct angulation front & rear, good topline, correct tail set & carriage. Excellent well presented coat of good texture. Free moving in profile. RBD

1. Ward’s CH LLWYNI ROCK N’ROLL STAR JW Quality boy who although bigger, was balanced throughout. Lovely head & expression with well set ears, correct shape dark eye & good bite. Correct moderate angulation front & rear, good tail set & carriage. Excellent well presented coat of good texture. Sound & free moving.

2. Turner’s MAYUMI’S ROUGH DIAMOND Lovely headed boy, with correct dark eye, good ears & correct bite. Good tail set & carriage. Correct size but could be shorter coupled. Well presented.

1. Bliss’s CH CHARNEY TAMOTSU I loved this gentleman. Super head balance, well shaped eyes although could be a little darker. Correct ears, bite & pigment. Super body shape & size, correct angulation front & rear, good topline. Correct tail set & carriage. In excellent well presented coat. Sound & free moving. Balanced throughout. BD, RBIS, BV

2. Aston & Bowen’s CH GLAMGLOW’S CHARMING AS EVER Another lovely boy, with super head, dark eye, good ears, good pigment, although he had left his teeth at home. Correct body shape & size. Good feet. Correct tail set & carriage. Excellent well presented coat. Sound & free moving. A great deal to like about him.

BABY PUPPY BITCH (2/2)

1. Smith’s SNOWSHOES DANCING QUEEN I could have taken this baby home with me. She is personality plus. All wriggles & tail wags at present, an absolute charmer who was clearly having a lovely day. Correct shape dark eye, good bite, correct pigment. Good feet. Coat still coming but looks as though once through, will be profuse. Still developing as you would expect for her age, but I look forward to seeing her when she is older.

2. Church’s SANYINKO NATSU AME This worried baby was not happy and did not make the best of herself as a result. Attractive head with good eye, bite & ears. Correct feet. Coat still coming as expected for age. Good pigment.

PUPPY BITCH (2/2)

1. Jones’s LLWYNI FANCY THAT This beautiful youngster caught my eye when she came into the ring, and did not disappoint. Beautiful head with correct shape dark eye, neat well positioned ears, good bite & good pigment. Lovely head balance with sweet expression. Good body shape & size, with moderate angulation front & rear. Good topline, tail set & carriage. Correct feet. Well presented coat. Sound & free moving. She is balanced throughout & I awarded her BB, BIS, BPIS

2. Church’s SANYINKO BARTON’S STARLET Rangy girl with longer neck than ideal, skull still developing & she lacks breadth of body, and overall balance at present. Feet could be better. Dark eye. Ears could be neater. In good coat for age. Moves close either end.

2. Gibson’s KAIAKI ANGEL EYES Another lovely youngster unlucky to be up against the winner. Very pretty bitch with balanced head, dark eye of good shape, Good bite. Well set ears. Correct pigment. Good body shape & size with correct angulation either end. Tail well set & carried. In good, well presented coat for age. Sound & free moving. A lot to like about her.

Correct body shape & size with moderate angulation front & rear. Correct tail set & carriage. Good topline. Sound & free moving. Balanced throughout, both standing and on the move. Another quality bitch.

1. McPhee’s MAIHMEKAI THE TEMPTRESS Lovely girl of correct shape & size. Very feminine. Attractive head with correct eye, good ears, bite & pigment. Good feet. Excellent well presented coat. Free moving in profile, but a little unsettled behind.

2. McGowan’s MAIHIMEKAI STOLEN KISS Litter sister to winner and another very nice bitch of lovely type, shape & size. Attractive head, although eye could be darker. Good ears, bite & pigment. Good feet. In good well presented coat. Good tail set & carriage. Moves well in profile but needs to tighten up behind.

Attractive head with dark eye, good bite, correct head balance & good pigment. Good topline, correct angulation, good size. Correct tail set & carriage. Free moving in profile. Very well presented.

2. Whitehead’s GLAMGLOW’S BLISSFUL KISS OF SAKURAI Another pretty bitch with lovely head. Dark eyes, neat ears, correct bite. Good pigment. Feet could be tighter. Tail well set & carried. Excellent well presented coat. Not quite as true moving front & rear as winner.

1. Aston & Bowen’s CH GLAMGLOW’S COTTON CANDY JW Difficult decision between 1 & 2 – both quality bitches. Winner is a very pretty headed girl, with dark correct shaped eyes, good ears, good bite. Correct pigment. Correct size girl with good topline & moderate angulation either end. Good tail set & carriage. Excellent well presented coat of good texture. Lovely bright personality, sound & free moving. Very eye catching.

2. Gibson’s CH KIREINA BEAUTIFUL DREAMER AT KAIAKI JW Another quality girl of correct shape & size, and who pushed hard for class. Pretty head with correct shape eye, but could be a little darker. Good ears, bite & pigment. Lovey size, correct angulation front & rear. Good tail set & carriage. Good feet. Balanced throughout, sound & free moving.
