1. Leveridge’s Bareve Jumping Jack. 6 mth old blue/tan with an adorable temperament. Very much a baby but I thought him good for type and he also pleased in outline with a correct length of neck, firm topline and tail set on high. Head of pleasing proportions but to break, eyes of good colour, ears set on well and correct dentition. He stands well naturally and has good feet. When gaiting, he goes well on the go around, just needing to firm a tad in front but he has plenty of time on his side. Nice rich tan. Best Special Beginners.

1. Harrison’s Bareve Rocket Man. Red of 6 mths who turned out to be the littermate to the previous class winner. I thought this youngster quite lovely and he is a great character and was enjoying his time in the ring. He presented a well-balanced outline with neck of good length, super topline, ribbing developing as it should, firm loin and tail set on well. Quality head with good skull to muzzle proportions, super eye and ear and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear and standing on good feet. Moves freely on the go around, like his brother just needing to firm up in front but nothing untoward. Best Puppy Dog.

1. Lawler’s Bareve Top Hat N’Tails. 20 mth old red who is all male and I thought so good for type. Pleasing outline with neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, ribbing carried well back, strong loin and high set tail. Masculine head with good proportions, moderate width to skull, expressive eyes and ears of correct set. Good angles both ends and standing true in front on good feet. Uses himself when gaiting and moves accurately on the down and back. Good quality jacket.

1. Manson & Mackin’s Bareve Third Degree. Two quality males challenged here. This 20 mth old red came out on top and he greatly appealed for overall type and outline and he was good hands on too. Certainly ‘hard bitten and rugged in appearance’, he has a super neck, is firm through the topline, correct ribbing, strong loin and tail is set on high and of good carriage. Masculine head with flat skull proportionate in length to that of muzzle, expressive eyes, ears set on moderately wide and scissor bite. Good angles both front and rear, really moves out on the go around and pleased on the down and back too. Harsh jacket with desired ruff. CC & BOB.
2. Nottingham & Dunbar’s Ch Ruarokatiro Born To Run. This 6 yr old red is another good one and of excellent type. He presents such a good outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to give balance and flowing into well laid shoulders, firm topline, super ribbing and tail set on high. Well proportioned head with first class expression; excellent eye and ear, slight stop, strong muzzle and correct dentition. He stands well naturally and has very good feet. When gaiting he has freedom of movement when viewed in profile, is true coming towards but just a touch closer behind. Quality jacket and presentation. RCC.

1. Pinkerton’s Bareve Play With Fire. Two blue/tan litter sisters battled it out in this class and both are full of quality. This girl was my winner and what a super pup she is. She presents such a good outline with an excellent neck, of good length and slightly arched, firm level back, good length to ribcage and nice high set tail. Feminine headpiece of equal proportions, moderate breadth to skull, dark expressive eyes, ears set on just right and correct dentition. Good angles both front and rear and she stands true in front on excellent feet. Super free action all through. Lovely rich tan. RCC.
2. Harrison’s Bareve Party Popper. Many of the same comments apply to this youngster. She also appealed for balance and outline with long shapely neck, level topline with ribbing carried well back, firm loin and tail set on high and of good carriage. Super headed pup with correct proportions and she has a real sporting terrier expression; best of eyes and ears, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. She stands well naturally on excellent feet and although moved well all through, the winner went that much better. Good jacket for one so young.

1. Pinkerton’s Bareve Fire Cracker, This 6 mth old pup was yet another from the same litter and by the looks of things, it really was a combination that clicked. I thought this one something very special and she ticked all the boxes for me. Of excellent type, she is so good in outline with slightly arched neck of good length to give balance, ribbing carried well back which is developing just as it should be, strength to loin and tail good for both set and carriage. First class head and expression; good skull to muzzle proportions, slight stop, super dark eyes which are set well apart, correct ears and scissor bite. Well made all through and she stands on the best of feet. Gaiting true when coming and going and has a lovely stride on the go around with such confident carriage. CC and Best Puppy.

1. Nottingham & Whincup’s Sureprime's Zabina (imp Swe). 13 mth old blue/tan who has plenty to like but wasn’t entirely settled. Balanced in outline with slightly arched neck, firm through the topline, good length to ribcage, strength to loin and tail set on well. Feminine headpiece with good proportions, ears set on well, eyes of good colour but not quite the shape I was looking for, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and when gaiting she uses herself to advantage and went well on the go around and also when going away. Good texture to jacket.

1. Cox’s Wyeafon Illusion In Ember at Petitpaws. Two completely different bitches competed in this class and as they entered the ring I thought I would be placing them the other way around. However upon closer inspection my opinion changed. This 2 yr old blue/tan has to be go over to be really appreciated as on the floor I thought her topline was incorrect, but this is not the case. In addition, she has a good length of neck, good spring of rib and her tail is set on high. She also scored in head and expression and she really has a varminty look about her which did appeal. Moves freely all through. Good jacket and super rich tan.
2. Nottingham & Arrowsmith’s Ruarokatiro A Star Is Born. This 2 yr old red was unfortunately carrying more weight than the ideal on the day. Having said that she is another full of quality and of a type that pleased. Long, slightly arched neck, level topline, good length to ribcage and tail set on high. Feminine head of good proportions with flat skull of moderate breadth, slight stop, good eye and ear and scissor bite but overall not quite expression of winner. She is soundly constructed all through and she stands straight in front on good feet. Gaiting true on the down and back and also pleased when viewed in profile. Good quality jacket.

1. Cawdell-Owen’s Ch Millvalley True Blue. 6 yr old blue/tan. Jacket a little unkempt looking which did affect her outline visually, however it was of pretty good texture and when hands on a correct length of neck and firm topline revealed themselves as well as excellent ribbing and loin. Feminine head with skull and muzzle of approximately equal lengths, expressive eyes, ears set on well and correct dentition. She stands straight in front on good feet and when gaiting she was true on the down and back and went ok on the go around.
