1. Dooley’s Violeta Mariposa Horace Du Moulin Du Paulu (Imp Fra). Black just coming up to 10 mths who has plenty to like. Pleasing size and outline with a super neck, firm topline, ribbing carried well back, short loin and tail of good carriage. Balanced headpiece with good planes, oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. He has good bone and stands on nice tight feet but needs to develop in forechest. Moves out with moderate length of stride, goes well behind but front action difficult to fully assess. Good quality coat. Best Puppy.

1. Clack, Battle-Hunter & Eddery’s Krisbos Leonidas with Molokain (IKC). 14 mth old liver who I have done well for before and today he still appealed but today he wasn’t entirely settled. Well balanced with slightly arched neck of moderate length, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, ribbing extends well back, muscular loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with masculine expression; parallel planes, super eye and ear and correct dentition. He has good angles both front and rear, stands true in front on excellent feet and pleased in forechest. Opens up well on the go around. Good quality coat and presentation. Reserve Best Dog and Best Junior.

1. Stephen’s Brightmeadow Rumour Has It JW. Two very different dogs competed in this class with this 20 mth old black coming out on top. Carrying good bone, he is all male but with the desired elegance of the breed. Muscular neck of correct length to balance, firm level topline, good depth to chest, well sprung ribs which extends well back, short loin, correct croup and good tail for set and carriage. Head of good proportions with excellent eye and ear, parallel planes, slight stop and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation both ends and stands straight in front on good feet and is well developed in forechest. Gaiting freely on the go around with good carriage. Crisp, tight curls and very well presented.

2. Dick’s Firecurl Excalibur. Approaching 2 yrs, this liver presents quite a different outline to the winner being somewhat shorter in back. Neck of medium length, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, ribbing of good length and tail of pleasing carriage. Masculine head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, parallel planes, oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite. Straight forelegs and nicely developed in forechest. On the down and back, he moved freely and also pleased on the go around but could not quite match the action of winner. Good texture to coat but again 1 had the edge.

1. Stephens’ Ravenho Looks Like Trouble for Brightmeadow. 3 yr old black who was a comfortable winner in this class for me. He presented a balanced outline, carries good bone yet has the degree of elegance required in the breed. Super neck, firm through the topline, brisket reaching the elbows, excellent ribbing, a touch more slope to croup but tail good for length and carriage. Balanced head with masculine expression, parallel planes, dark oval-shapes eyes of correct placement, slight stop and scissor bite. Excellent front assembly, standing nice and straight on very good feet and with pleasing forechest. Opens up well on the go around. Quality coat and presentation. Best Dog.

2. Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka at Molokain (Imp Cze). 6 yr old liver out of a smaller mould than 1. Moderate length of neck which is slightly arched, firm level topline, chest of good depth, well sprung ribs which are carried well back and nice short loin but tail carriage somewhat higher than preferred. Pleasing head with masculine expression; good skull to muzzle proportions, correct planes, excellent eye and ear, slight stop and scissor bite. Well boned forelegs which are nice and straight, stands on tight feet and also pleased in forechest. Moving freely on the down and back but could open up more on the go around. Good texture to coat.

3. Duff’s Overbore League of Their Own

VD (1,0)

1. Baines & Hawley-Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory (Imp Pol). 7 yr old liver who was very well handled. Carrying good bone, he has a neck of moderate length but could be cleaner in throat, a little heavy over the withers, firm through the topline, short loin and correct croup. Oval-shaped eyes which are correct for colour, good head proportions but with more stop than preferred. Stands nice and straight in front on pretty good feet but could use more forechest. Moderate length of stride on the go around. Best Veteran.

PB (2,0)

1. Whitehead’s Foxriever Sea Fyre. Black just short of 12 mths who was an easy winner here. Feminine throughout and nicely balanced with medium length of neck, excellent topline, good depth to brisket, muscular loin but with a touch more length, good croup and tail pleased for set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head with parallel planes, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands on good feet. Difficult to fully assess movement but she went pretty well on the go around, however needs to firm on the down and back.

2. Whitehead’s Foxriever Phoenix Rising. 8 mth old liver who was not at all settled and really needs more socialisation. Neck of moderate length, ribbing carried well back but a tad ‘bum high’ right now. Feminine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, slight stop, parallel planes and pleasing eyes for shape and colour. Standing straight in front but needs to develop in forechest. Front action looks to have the edge over than of winner but otherwise action difficult to evaluate fully.

1. Harrison’s Brightmeadow Never Can Say. 20 mth old black who very much appealed. She presented a super outline with the desired elegance of the breed; slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, firm level topline, good depth to chest, well sprung ribs which extend well back, short in the couplings, correct croup and tail good for both set and carriage. Quality head with parallel planes and good skull to muzzle proportions, expressive oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely set, ears set on just about eye level and correct scissor bite. Shoulders well laid, straight forelegs, excellent feet and firm, muscular hindquarters with well let down hocks. I would like a touch more breadth to chest but she moves freely when coming and going and really opens up well when viewed in profile. Good quality coat and presentation. Best Bitch & BOB.

2. Stephens’ Brightmeadow Come On Eileen. Black who turned out to be the litter sister to the winner. She is out of a slightly smaller mould but she also appealed for balance and outline. She has an excellent neck, is firm through the topline, correct in ribbing, short muscular loin, good croup and tail pleased for set and carriage. Balanced headpiece with feminine expression; dark oval-shaped eyes, correct ears for size and set, slight stop and correct dentition. Pleasing angles front and rear, standing straight in front with good forechest and well muscled all through. Moving out with good carriage and although she has a good length of stride, winner went that bit better. Good texture to coat.

3. Clack, Eddery & Clack’s Epsilon Adhara at Molokain JW

OB (3,2)

1. Clack, Eddery & Clack’s Sh Ch Molokain Hocus Pocus. 2 yr old black who was good to go over. Balanced girl with slightly arched neck of medium length, excellent topline, ribbing well sprung and carried well back, good depth to brisket, nice and short in the couplings, excellent croup and correct tail carriage. Attractive, well proportioned head with slight stop and parallel planes, expressive obliquely placed eyes, ears set on just above eye level and good dentition. Well boned, she stands nice and straight in front on good feet and also scored in forechest. On the move, she pleased on the go around but in the challenge her profile action could not quite match that of the PG winner. Excellent presentation and coat texture. Reserve Best Bitch.
