Paignton and District Fanciers Society Championship Dog Show 2025

Keeshond

Over many years, I have enjoyed watching and judging this lovely breed, having judged them more than once at Championship Shows without CC’s and a Breed Club Show. I was therefore, particularly looking forward to this appointment and I was not disappointed. Just one negative observation however, was that there were a number moving close behind. On the positive side, I found all dogs were presented in great condition and all had wonderful temperaments.

1st: Rose’s Amikirs Uncle Fester. 9 months and clearly a very promising youngster. Head is of a pleasing wedge shape; well set ears and excellent dentition. Of good bone and substance. Correct, moderate angulations. Ample neck into well laid shoulders. Compact body. High set tail. In abundant coat and colours coming through. Sadly, he was intent on playing the fool and was most uncooperative which was frustrating for his owner and disappointing for the judge! When he comes together, he will trouble the best.

1st: Saunders’s Liefkees Amore. 3 years. Attractive, balanced, masculine wedge shaped head giving typical expression. Eyes could be a shade darker. Well placed, lengthy neck into well laid shoulders. Just a tad longer in loin. Impressive front assembly and well angulated hindquarters aided impressive movement. High set tail. Clean accurate mover. Coat coming through.

A trio of lovely dogs.

1st: Ring’s Neradmik Shine On Harvey Moon. 4 years. Produces an impressive balanced outline. Appealing, masculine head containing well set dark eyes, defined spectacle markings which all aid the desired expression. OK for neck. Secure, strong topline and good tail set. Presented in full coat being of desired colour combinations. His balance of bone and construction is impressive. He moved with accuracy and precision and could not be denied the CC and BOB.

2nd: Lindsay’s Mezanda Mystic Starman. 3 years. Another really impressive young dog with so much to like. Head is balanced and contains dark appealing well shaped eyes. Good dentition. Excellent coat and colours. Neck is of moderate length and well set. Deep chest and well ribbed. Holds a secure topline. Correctly placed tail. On the day, in a very close call, I just preferred the movement of 1 but he is clearly of champion quality. RCC.

3rd: Miles & Dean & Cullen’s Ch Skyline's Outlander At Lekkerbek (Imp USA).
