Richmond Championship Dog Show 2025 – Best Veteran In Show

I would like to extend warmest congratulations to the hard working Officers and Committee for such a truly wonderful show and my personal thanks for the honour of judging the Veteran Groups and Best Veteran in Show. Each day brought the privilege—and challenge—of assessing such wonderful Veteran dogs.

This group, perhaps more than any other, highlights not only the enduring quality and spirit of these dogs, but also the care, dedication, and husbandry their owners have given over the years. It is always inspiring to see such beloved veteran dogs presented with pride - a testament to the deep bond between dog and owner.

Shortlisting was no easy task, and choosing the Group Winners proved even more difficult given the depth of quality on display. Congratulations to all the owners for the outstanding care and condition of the dogs presented—it was truly a pleasure to judge them all.

Best Veteran In Show

Lester, Mackie & Smith’s Ch Domburg Made By Hawksflight.

Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervueren). B.

Presented and handled to perfection, she immediately commands attention. Beautifully balanced, with an exquisite feminine expression framed by a head of correct planes and finish. Her captivating dark, oblique almond-shaped eyes complete the picture. An exemplary showgirl, her light, free action and impeccable deportment lit up the Best in Show ring from her very first step. I was delighted to add to her many accolades and once again extend my sincere congratulations.

Reserve Best Veteran In Show

Hattrell’s Ch Khinjan Bellisima JW.

Lhasa Apso. B.

A beautifully balanced bitch with a stunning profile and eye-catching colour combinations. Presented in exemplary coat and condition. She has a pretty, well-pigmented, feminine head of correct type, with particularly well-proportioned forequarters. Her lengthy neck is used to full advantage, enhancing her aristocratic deportment on the move. Always destined to be a strong contender in the Best in Show ring, she fully justified her place and, despite extremely strong competition, was thoroughly deserving of Reserve Best in Show.
