Windsor Dog Show Society

Breed: Shih Tzu

WINDSOR – SHIH TZU – 28th June 2025 – Tony Moran

Thank you all for a lovely day with this very special breed. I was happy to have been first into the ring and were finished before the intense heat occurred. The main thing for me was the depth of quality in the dogs shown today, especially in the younger classes. The details that make this breed unique were present in abundance and I was spoilt of choice.

Minor Puppy Dog (4 entered 2 absent)

1. Minfaa The Last Dance (Mr D J & Mrs J A Quick)

Black & white with a very correct head and excellent expression. Broad skull, excellent eye, good nose placement and nostrils. Excellent bone and substance. Excellent topline and tail-set. Moves well and lovely temperament.

2. Ethelsmead Ripleys Game (Mrs J K Rutter)

Gold with white, lovely head and expression, excellent pigmentation. Very typical balance, excellent length of body. Not totally happy today and not holding his tail on the move. More practice needed.

Puppy Dog (2/0)

Black & White with a good head, well-shaped eye, good open nostrils and nose placement. Well undershot with good width of chin. Good size and balance, excellent bone & fore chest. Excellent top-line and tail set, and lovely head carriage. Once he settled moved well but and would prefer more rear drive. Best Puppy Dog

2. Konatian Love Machine (Mrs S Osmond)

Pale gold with a well laid out head, excellent skull shape, good chin, excellent pigmentation but eye could be larger. Changing coats. Excellent length but a little up on leg. Excellent rear mover. Lovely temperament.

Junior Dog (7/3) – An excellent class, full of promising youngster with excellent breed type

1. Tameron Mr Penhaligon's (Miss H L Howard)

Gold & white with a textbook head, all as it should be with the most arrogant expression. I could look at this head all day and never tire of it. Excellent nose placement, open nostrils and the most beautiful, dark, well-shaped eye. Loved his size and balance. Excellent bone and at the right stage of development for age. Pristine coat condition. Well angulated front with the ability to reach and super rear with good muscle tone and well able to drive. Delighted to award him the DCC & BOB and later see him take Group 4.

2. Shenleyvale Fifty Shades of Orange (Mrs C Stevenson)

Shaded gold with a gorgeous head and expression, lovely eye, strong pigmentation and well-shaped skull. Good bone & substance. Correct length of body and good tail-set and carriage. A little up on leg but an excellent mover with very positive attitude.

Junior Bitch (3/1)

1. Hin Chen's My Juliette (Imp Nor) (Mrs G M & Ms H M Gilkes & Finnanger)

Gold & white with a lovely head and expression, strong pigmentation, well-shaped skull, excellent mouth and chin. Correct nose placement and lovely, well-shaped, dark eye. Excellent outline, with super bone and substance. Excellent width and strength of fore-chest, ribs well sprung and extending well back. Excellent tail set and carriage. She has a wonderful outgoing and mischievous character which she displayed by her determination to be uncooperative on the move. She did enough in the class to win, and had she focused on the job in hand in the challenge could have pushed the best for top-honours. When she mentally matures, I am sure she will have a promising show career.

2. Keola Miss Glitz and Glamour (Mrs M Salt)

Very attractive head with a lovely pleasing expression. Lovely eye and excellent pigmentation. Excellent mouth. Outline looks a little short and needs to fill in body. Good bone. A little high on legs at the moment. Excellent tail-set and carriage. Once settled, moved well. Excellent coat texture and lovely temperament.

Black & white with a lovely head, everything as it should be and in the correct size and proportions. Excellent outline and well set and carried tail. Another who will have a bright future.

2. Minfaa Christmas Cracker at Miracey (Mrs T A & Mr M G Hitt)

Gold & white with a lovely head and expression, excellent nose placement and lovely eye. Loved her size and balance. Needs a little more substance to complete the picture but excellent bone. In good coat of correct texture. This one was absolutely not affected by the heat and was almost overly energetic on the move, powering around the ring, but moved well when she settled. Excellent temperament.

Open Bitch (5/2)

1. Ch Santosha Silhouette (Mr D & Mrs S M Crossley)

Red with white with a well laid out head, excellent skull shape, well-shaped eye, but could be a shade darker, excellent nose placement, good mouth and chin. Lovely outline, creating a typical silhouette with high head and tail carriage and giving the correct long and low outline. Good bone but could be a little wider the whole way through. Comes into her own on the move, proving a short legged breed can both reach and drive. A total show girl, flawless moving performance. Excellent coat texture and condition. RES CC

2. Keola Tailor Maide (Mrs M Salt)
