Windsor Championship Dog Show 26th June 2025

Many thanks to the Windsor committee for the invitation to judge at this very special show. And also to my two excellent stewards. It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of judging this lovely breed. I’ve really missed them and enjoyed this a lot. I’m pleased to say temperaments and presentation were excellent, thank you to all the exhibitors for bringing them and accepting my decisions with such good grace. I wish you all well in the future.

Veteran

Both these veterans were a good age and a credit to their owners.

1 Johnson - Sensation vom Tespelkooi of Valleyrise VW (Imp Deu), very impressive young lady, thought she was feminine with the right amount of substance for her correct size. Good straight front legs with tight feet. Almond eyes and dark pigment, attractive head framed with well held ears and beautiful earrings. Moderate all through, in excellent condition and a lovely, elegant mover.

2 Guy - Cirtaps Prinses Bynton Ida Rose Mk (Imp Swe), a lively girl here, liked her good straight front and angulation fore and aft. Attractive head with good pigment and earrings. Tending to lose her topline a little at times and movement not as flowing as 1.

Puppy Dog

Junior Dog

1 Guy Middanwinter War Horse at Kerelkoor, Just 13 months old, pristine white with the correct red islands. Very good masculine head developing with dark, almond shaped eyes and dark pigment. Has good bone for his body but still needing to spring his ribs at this young age and this will hopefully help his front straighten up. He is perhaps looking a little long in body proportions for ideal at the moment and I’d like to see him in another year or two when he is through this growth stage. He had the typical black earrings and tail ring and moved with level topline.

Post Graduate Dog

1Davies - Twybrook Barenhauter, I just rather fell for this boy! He has a very balanced head, masculine, attractive blaze and not overdone. Kind dark brown almond eye and dark pigment framed by well set ears and the desirable earrings. Excellent bone with straight front legs to tidy oval feet. Nicely angulated all over and moderate stifle. Good body and topline to well set tail and tail ring. Even coat colours and red saddle back. Won on his movement which was super fluid in all directions. The challenge was very competitive, and this younger boy just took it today as I thought he stood out on all counts. BD & BOB

2 Roberts - Twybrook Noble Prince at Kogarahs, Well made boy who stood four square very naturally, Had a very balanced head showing off his earrings. Very long, full coat. Held a level topline throughout but was a bit erratic on the move sometimes which was a pity as his profile tells me he has much more there. RBD

Limit Dog

1 Roberts - Twybrook Noble Prince at Kogarahs

Open Dog

1Davies – Millhanger Kemboy, this boy had a broad masculine head with good dark pigment and framed by his earrings. Adequate bone for his correct size and neat feet. He is slightly longer in body than I would prefer but he had nice straight front legs.

2 Gutteridge - Benitin Trojan of Geduld, Quite a lively boy with a kind dark eye and masculine head with breadth. Lovely earrings and tail ring too. Adequate bone. He didn’t stand with his front straight today, although it was when he moved and he did manage to stand better for his critique but it was too late by then.

Special Beginner Dog or Bitch

1 Folan Murphy & Murphy - Mooiekooi's Dizzy Delta, a smaller bitch who didn’t bring her best dress today. Pretty head with dark eyes, dark pigment and framed by her well set ears and earrings. She has moderate angulation and although could have had a little more confidence in being ‘gone over’ she moved happily. BSB

Puppy Bitch

Junior Bitch

1 Johnson – Gladsheim Storm Chaser of Valleyrise, Thought she looked stunning in profile, moderate and balanced with good angulation, bone and topline. Attractive dark almond eyes with required pigment and earrings developing well. Would have preferred a straighter front but she moved beautifully showing reach and drive and total fluidity at one with her handler.

Post Graduate Bitch

1Gutteridge – Twybrook Rotkappchen of Geduld, slightly larger bitch with breadth across the skull and correct wedge shaped muzzle. Alert dark almond eyes with dark pigment. Good bone. Can stand very square but occasionally stands front legs pointing out. Best mover in class today.

2 Mar-Gerrison Valkira Whispering Hope, More petite and feminine bitch. Although her stop looked pronounced, she had kind almond eyes with good pigment, ears with desired earrings. Front a little loose today and she was losing a lot of coat for the summer. Well schooled and knew her job and I’d like to see her another day.

Limit Bitch

1 Mar-Gerrison Valkira Whispering Hope

Open Bitch

1 Johnson Ch Valleyrise Illustration, what a classy bitch, just adorable! Beautiful, balanced head with the kind of eyes that draw you in. Classic earrings and tail ring. Just the right amount of bone led to tight oval feet on her straight front. Her angulation demonstrated good return of upper arm and balance was shown in her moderate stifle. Level topline with slightly sloping croup from which tail set followed. Very friendly character and when she moved she certainly knew where she was going and went for it! BB

2 Mar-Gerrison – Gladsheim Willow at Valkira, Close up to 1. Very balanced bitch who stood square. Classic head with those typical earrings and tail ring. Lovely bone and feet. Strong neck in to level topline. Thought she had lovely character and moved with a spring in her step. RBB
