Lay of shoulder is good, top line is held well at all times, depth of chest just reaches elbows which are tucked in well, correct length in loin. Moderate angles to rear. Stands on oval compact feet. Presented if lovely condition and handled well, moved positive in all directions. Also placed 2nd in Post Graduate, and whilst very much the youngest in the class her balance and virtues justified placing. BP & WPG3

She has a very attractive head with muscular neck of correct length, leading to a well put together front, good depth and width to chest, super rear angles which are strong and used so well on the move. 3rd Hooley’s BLACK STRIPE AT DOKKALFAR

AVNSC Working – I had some super dogs in these classes, thank you for your entries.

Puppy (4, 1abs)

1st Simpson’s RENESCENT BEWITCHED – A lovely Black Great Dane of 10mths. Super bone throughout displaying strength but not coarseness, hopefully this will continue to remain the same as he matures. Really liked his head, good width of skull and equally lovely broad muzzle, length of muzzle and skull are well proportioned, large nose with open nostrils. Medium ear carried well. Neck is of fair length and well arched. Stands straight in front with elbows tucked in well, depth of chest is good and meets elbows, width is still to come when matures on. Ribs are developing well, back is strong and for his age he shows strength in loin, his top line was held at all times and leads onto a lovey croup and tail set. Hindquarters are proportioned well, nice length of first and second thing with a good turn of stifle. Strong in hock for his age, and whilst muscle development has still to come, he is able to cover the ground well using his angles fore and aft together to move freely whilst giving that lovely light movement. He showed so well in the heat, and continued to do so in the challenge where he got Best AVNSC Puppy, and then in a lovely group of puppies he took Group 1, sadly nothing for him BPIS, but he continued to put on a great performance.

2nd Denver-Smith’s JAVLADARE MR BOOMBASTIC – A lovely well boned male Rottweiler of 11 mths. Substance is super all the way through, especially for his age. Head is very appealing, broad skull, his medium sized ears are set and carried well. Correct eye, defined stop, strong broad muzzle leads onto a large black nose, strength in jaw, cheeks are developed well for age. Neck of good length leads onto a nice front, good lay of shoulder and pleasing upper arm, depth of chest is correct, elbows lay close, ribs are well sprung, nice top line and undercarriage. Rear angles are good, with muscle development coming on, strong in hock. Lovely condition with rich markings to compliment. Moved very sound, just preferred the overall movement and togetherness of first place on the day.

3rd Dobson’s CHANTAVORY’S HARLEQUINN

Junior (5, 2abs)

1st Newton’s LINTWEED BLACK LUCIAN – 14mth Russian Black Terrier male. Loved his type, he is of good size and holds a super top line at all times, his movement won him the class where his angles worked well together enabling him to moved sound and steady in all directions. Head has a strong flat skull, correct ear set high and carried well, lying close to cheek. Dark eye. Lovely strong muzzle tapering towards to nose, good beard gives the finishing picture. Stands lovely and straight in front onto super feet, hind quarters are strong and stands parallel behind, with strength in hock. Muscle developing is coming on well both on his inner and outer thighs. A lovely dog.

2nd Denver-Smith’s JAVLADARE MR BOOMBASTIC – Critique is under 2nd place in Puppy. However, I would like to add that following a little bit of advice at the end of puppy, his handler took it on board and they gave a much better performance in this class, which enabled this youngster to show off his virtues much better. Well done and good luck.

Post Graduate (7, 1abs)

1st Houchin’s PHILOMA SIMON TEMPLAR AT BARNSDALE – 20mth Black Giant Schnauzer who whilst only a yearling and still maturing he is so together, both in balance, conditioning and performance. Very smart outline given in both stance and on the move. His head type is so attractive, of good length, skull is broad and leads down to a medium stop, neat ears set and carried well, muzzle is strong and broad leads to a large black nose. Finished with correct beard and eyebrows. Fair length of neck leads to a clean shoulder placement, chest is fairly broad and deep where it meets elbows, ribs are developing well. Strength is easily seen in back. Hindquarters have muscle development, with a good angle to stifle. Stands true and parallel from behind. Hocks are strong enabling him to drive off well where he shows positive sound movement in all directions, with free movement showing excellent reach and drive. Finished with all round compact feet. Best AVNSC and also was my WG winner. His performance was super in the BIS line up.

2nd Newton’s LINTWEED BLACK BETTY BOO – 14 month Russian Black Terrier Bitch. She doesn’t always show what she has, but a lovely well put together bitch. Loved her head type, strength in muzzle with a lovely black nose, cheeks are developed, medium stop, lovely broad skull. Fair length of neck which is powerful meets at a good angle to top line. Front assembly is pleasing with elbows carried close to body, ribs are well sprung, chest is deep, like her length of body, she just needs to firm up in body now, but time is on her side. Rear angles are as expected, where muscle development is coming on well, stifles are well bent. She has a lovely steady gait where good ground coverage can be seen. Turned out in a good well-groomed coat.

A.V. Working Veteran (2)

1st Perfitt’s SAMJOE’S THE ONE AND ONLY- 7 ½ year old Alaskan Malamute bitch, presented in lovely coat and conditioning throughout with beautiful sound movement. Head is pleasing, ear set and carriage is correct, nice eye, if anything I would like a tiny bit more width to skull. Front assembly is good with a well-placed shoulder, stands straight in front onto lovely feet. Super straight back, hind quarters are well muscled, as mentioned at the start of this critique her movement is lovely to watch, so sound in all directions. BEST AV Working Veteran

2nd Bolsover’s CHARMEDKELZ ALL SEEIN ANGEL VW – 10 ½ years old and wow what a showgirl she is. Lovely head giving a lovely expression, no sign of age at all, dark nose, good ear set, size and carriage dark flews compliment. Correct length of neck, her lay of shoulder is good, she stands well in front. She gives a pleasing side gait, but just a little cow hocked when going away but this can be forgiven for her age. She is a credit to her owners.
