Rough Collie

Thank you to the committee for asking me to judge, such a shame the rain was so heavy at times. Thank you to my steward. Although only a very small entry I was very pleased with the quality.

Special Yearling Dog or Bitch.

1. Tofield’s – Gataj Dream to Love, 17 month sable and white bitch with so much to like. Her head handled well with a correct placed stop, a medium sweet eye, still a little filling left to do, but to be expected for her age. She has a lovely swan like neck that she uses well leading into well angled shoulders and good chest. Legs straight with good upper arm. Good length of back and rise over loin, well muscled and good turn of stifle. Stood correctly at all times. Moved well fore and aft, but excelled on side gait and with her flowing coat made a lovely picture. BOB I note she went Pastoral Group 3.

2. Hewett’s – Serenlas Borrowed Heaven, 16 month blue merle bitch whose colour still needs to clear, has a good length of muzzle, with a clean head and stop with a medium eye. Good neck into a well angulated shoulder, good length of leg and upper arm, a little finer boned than my winner. Lovely long back, good hocks. Tail carried a little high. Moved well away, but her weight affected her movement coming back and her side gait, I am sure this can be addressed by her owner.
