Spaniel (Cocker) Puppy Dog (4)
1st MacLean’s Lynwater Fiyero - Delightful start to my day. A very merry 6 month old orange roan who exudes confidence and showmanship. Compact, well balanced outline with good substance and well bodied up for his young age. Handsome head of good proportions, square muzzle, expressive, dark brown eyes well set with tight rims. Ears well set. Good length of neck fitting into well laid shoulders, forelegs straight and well boned. Chest developing well for age. Compact body of good width throughout, well ribbed back, short, strong loin. Well rounded bum, angulation correct with good bend of stifle and low set parallel hocks propelling him on the move. Good feet. Moved well from all angles. BPD
2nd Burnett’s Alan Parrish of Shaggy Love - 10 month old blue roan who on first inspection looked the most mature of the class. Slightly higher on leg at the moment than 1st and needs to develop and drop in chest and body up - he has plenty of time on his side for this. He has a handsome head with pleasing expression, square muzzle, good stop, some chiselling. Expressive dark eyes full of mischief and expression. Ears of good set. Decent amount of neck fitting smoothly into a sound front assembly. As mentioned, chest is a little narrow at this stage, forelegs of good bone for his size, compact body, well ribbed back, good topline. Nice rear quarters matching those angles of his fore. Moved well when settled.

Spaniel (Cocker) Special Yearling Dog (4, 1abs)
1st Brennan’s Charbonnel Chaperone at Kerrijoy - Quality young black dog of 15 months old. Scored highly on balance and breed type. Gleaming coat presented in top class condition. Beautiful head, masculine without a trace of coarseness, square muzzle, well chiselled and correct amount of stop. Kind, dark eyes of correct set, shape and size giving such a pleasing expression. Muscular, reachy neck of good length flowing seamlessly into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, forelegs straight and of quality bone, strong feet with firm, thick pads. Compact body, muscular and strong throughout with good width. Ribs well sprung and carried well back to a short, strong loin. Well muscled rear with good width and rounding to thighs, stifles well bent and short parallel hocks. Good tailset with merry action. Moved with bustling, ground covering action. Pushed hard in the challenge and pleased to award him RBD.
2nd Lawrie’s Inverella Hugo Boss - Another nice exhibit who was unlucky to meet 1st, black, 17 months. Well sized and with good substance. Compact and cobby presenting a balanced outline. Not as pleasing in front as 1st. Head balanced and of good proportions, masculine expression, kind, dark eyes with tight eye rims. Good neck into well laid shoulders, forelegs well boned though could be a little straighter, thick, strong pads. Enough chest, short backed with good topline which he held throughout. Well sprung ribs carried well back, loin is short and muscular. Sound hindquarters matching that of his fore angles. Moved well from all angles.
