29th June 2025

A lovely well run show on a summer’s day and we were fortunate to be outside in one of the paddocks, shaded by trees. It was muggy though with bursts of extreme heat so allowances were made for a little less enthusiasm on the move.

Irish Setter

P (3, 2a): 1 BP Peters’ Bluesprings Love Of My Life for Shirlilah, 9 months bitch, lovely shape - feminine, pretty head, clean neck into shoulders, lovely shine on coat, moved well if a little slow but it was an extremely hot day. A lovely baby, just needs to drop into herself & strengthen through the front pasterns.

Y (2): 1 Harrison’s Clonageera Summer Dreams at Millpoint, 16 months bitch of good bone, good strength through the forearms but still feminine, lovely outline, clean neck into shoulders, moved well in profile. Just needs to be firm up which she will do with maturity, well presented; 2 Gill’s Cararua Pearl Of Fortune, 13 months male, handler does a good job with him, masculine & strong looking, brisket down to elbow, good topline standing, in very fit condition. Tad long in the second thigh.

G (3, 1a): 1 BOB Tiroen Touch Of Magic by Settesoli (Imp) JW appeals in head, good depth of chest, good ribbing, correct turn of stifle, hocks strong & vertical to the ground, in firm condition. A precise mover, nothing is exaggerated; 2 C Summer Dreams at M.

O (3): 1 RBOB Cole’s Riverbrue Ophelia Bobby, appeals in outline, firm topline, elbows tight to the chest wall, well made throughout, strong hocks vertical to the ground. Moved well despite the heat. A little heavy over the shoulders today; 2 Cox’s Tiroen The Sky’s The Limit, feminine bitch, racy appearance, pretty head, clean neck, good rear angulation. She doesn’t have the front assembly of 1 – her elbows could be tighter to the chest wall; 3 C Pearl Of Fortune.

Spaniel (English Springer)

P (1): 1 BP Weyman’s Spuffing Bellini, eye-catching puppy, compact & nice to over, brisket down to elbow, good angulation fore & aft, good depth of muzzle, firm topline, moved well. A happy, outgoing puppy, well handled.

Y (3, 1a): Litter siblings in 1 & 2. 1 Topliss’ Beresford Stand At Ease, 12 months dog & the more together, appeals in head – well-proportioned with kind eye, strong bone, clean neck into well laid shoulders, good turn of stifle, very smart & handled to advantage. Really drives off from hocks on the move; 2 Topliss’ Beresford Stand Aside, not as co-operative as her brother at the moment, but still well made & similar comments as 1. Well made through the front with good return of upperarm. Not the powerful rear movement of 1.

G (3): BOB Topliss’ Beresford Stand N’Stare, very smart dog, litter brother to the two in Yearling. 12 months, full of life, good head properties. Can be a bit of a fighter on the stack, but when settles, really looks the part with balanced angles fore & aft, good ribbing, compact in appearance. Moved well; 2 S Bellini; 3 Topliss’ Beresford Stand On Ceremony.

O (3, 1a): 1 RBOB Topliss’ Sh Ch Beresford Lockdown, mature boy, strong bone, stands on lovely feet, good spring of rib, firm topline, good angulation, in good coat condition, moved & handled well. Preferred outline of BOB; 2 Cox’s Tiroen To Have And To Hold, strong looking bitch but still feminine, good ribbing & rear angulation, moved with drive but her tail carriage is a little proud.
