Critique for Retriever (Flat Coated)

Puppy (5): two very promising littermates headed this class

1. Reitmaier’s Miss Mallory’s Raise The Bar, just over 7 months and full of type and quality, nicely moulded head and correct eye shape, pleasing legs and feet, well made in front, well ribbed up body with short loin, good hindquarters with well let down hocks, correct tailset, presented a lovely overall outline which he maintained on the move, sound out and back and covered good ground in profile;

2. Reitmaier’s Miss Mallory’s Apple Of My Eye, a feminine version of her litter brother, most lovely disposition so typical of the breed, well made all through with pleasing head shape, well angulated front and rear quarters and a sound, free-flowing mover, pushed hard;

3. Egginton and Davis’ Pajanbeck Hold My Halo

Junior (2):

1. Gale’s Willowswind Skylark, good type bitch with well moulded head, medium eye of correct colour, pleasing bone, strong topline and hindquarters, sound mover out and back and flowed in profile covering good ground, a very nice bitch with a most wonderful disposition, so typical of the breed, would just prefer better feet;

2. Bellamy’s Affinity Promises Kept for Woodfinch, male who scored in bone, body lines and topline, not the front, neck and shoulders of 1;

Yearling (1):

1. W Skylark

Post Graduate (3):

1. Turner’s Angel Undercover Take My Breath Away, feminine bitch of good overall type, racy without being weedy, strong topline, well set tail, well angulated hindquarters, moved soundly and with freedom, could be slightly shorter coupled and would prefer better feet;

2. Pingree’s Telurn Final Attraction among Heatheridge, strong powerful male with superb feet, good body and correct rib, strong topline, preferred the cleaner lines of 1;

3. Branscombe and Egginton’s Pajanbeck Miracle of Love

Open (4):

1. Colson’s Sh Ch Windyhollows Ragged Robin, what a thoroughly typical, handsome Flatcoat male, excellent type and quality, well shaped head, correct eye, well made front and hindquarters, correct rib, super topline and tailset, sound true mover fore and aft and carries himself so well in profile where he maintains his outline and goes with freedom, pleasure to judge and to award BOB;

2. Reitmaier’s Pol/Lt/No/SE/DK Ch Miss Mallory’s Once And For All, lovely quality feminine bitch with class and quality, lovely head shape, correct bone, good body and hindquarters, used her tail so well and portrayed a true Flatcoat, sound mover in all directions, pushed hard, dam of the two lovely puppies, RBOB;

3. Pingree’s Calzeat Gentleman’s Agreement to Heatheridge
