Thank you to the Show committee for their invite to judge at this lovely show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day at a lovely location, with good sized rings. Finally, a big thank you to the exhibitors for entering under me, and to our lovely steward Cathy Connelly who kept us all ticking along nicely.

Special Yearling, 3 (2 Abs)

1st I Sladden’s, Canemamans Two Timer JW - 17m C/W Dog – Lovely typical head, displaying correct divergent planes, skull with pronounced occiput, balanced by a strong, square muzzle. Eyes soft and expressive, set well with a gentle, intelligent gaze with noble expression. Moderate neck, with good length of upper arm. Chest deep, reaching to the elbows, with well-sprung ribs and a slightly arched, muscular loin. Topline slopes gently from well-defined withers to a broad croup, showing correct proportions. Movement sound and purposeful, with reach and drive. Ably displaying the extended trot profile movement specific to the breed. RBOB

1st K.Hutton’s, Piccorino Portatore D’Amore – 2yrs O/W Dog – Well sculpted head, of correct proportions with divergent planes. Eye shape and colour correct, giving a soft intelligent expression. Ears well set. Neck clean and of good length leading to strong top line. Forequarters well-constructed, with adequate bone and depth of chest. Moved with purpose, losing out to principle winners today on rear angulation.

1st I. Sladdens’s Sh Ch Valcor The Confessor At Canemamans JW ShCEx OSW - 4yrs O/W Dog. A well-made male. He is of strong type and pleasing proportions, presenting a noble and powerful outline. Good headpiece of correct proportions, divergent planes and noble expression. Well-developed chest reaching to the elbows, with good depth and breadth. Ribcage well sprung. On the move, maintained top line with fluid movement, demonstrating reach and drive fore and aft. BOB.

1st S. Turner’s Oakmarsh Haunting Melody (AI) – 5 yrs 6 mnths Bitch. She’s of good type, well balanced with depth and strength throughout. Pleasing head with soft eye and intelligent expression, strong neck with good forechest and well boned powerful shoulders. Level top line, with well sprung ribs and strong back. Well-muscled hind quarters, good bend of stifle with hocks well let down. Was unfortunate to come against the more compact denser coated BOB today. RBOB.

1st C A Pont’s, Sh Ch Oakmarsh Dancing Diva VW – 9 yrs Bitch. A very smart compact bitch of excellent type, carrying strength and balance in a feminine frame. She has a broad round skull of correct proportions with well set eyes with soft inquisitive expression. She is well muscled and well boned throughout, medium length neck into powerful shoulders with good forechest. Forelegs straight and equal in length to depth of body. Deep chest with short coupling through to strong hind quarters. Good turn of stifle with well let down hocks. Strong powerful movement. Coat thick and of ideal texture and wave, with oily texture. BOB

1st Mr & Mrs Pavitt & Mr & Mrs Whitehead’s Foxriever Fire Cracker (AI) – 10 mnths Dog. He’s a well-balanced puppy dog of pleasing type, with correct wedge head and expression developing correctly. Good outline with strength and bone in proportion. Coat already of excellent quality, tight and even. Moved enthusiastically, soundly and with confidence for his age. One to watch, a youngster full of promise for the future.

1st Anderson’s Gunalt Gift of the Gab JW 18 mnths, Bitch. An elegant young bitch of pleasing type, showing femininity and strength in outline. Her moderately long head is developing well with correct proportions, medium sized eyes giving a keen and intelligent expression. Moderate neck into well developed chest to elbow. Level topline, short coupled with firm loin. She’s longer than she is tall, with pleasing angulation fore and aft set on well arched neat feet. BOB
