Special Awards

Judge: Deborah Wagh

Firstly, thank you so much to the Glen of Imaal Terrier Association for the very kind invitation to judge specials at your open show.

Secondly, apologise for the lateness of my critique, unfortunately I had lost my notes and catalogue so was hunting high and low for it but I digress.

Finally, and most importantly thank you to the exhibitors for your support and for accepting my decisions on the day in such good sport, thank you I had a lovely day.

Junior

1st Pyrce’s Cenabach I do

13-month-old dog. Masculine head of good width and length, eyes of correct colour, strong jaw with scissor bite. Body showing good outline, good depth with good spring of rib and well ribbed back. Strong neck of good length, well laid shoulder, good bone and substance and well-muscled for a young dog moved very well here to take this class. Very promising I liked him a lot and will watch his career with interest.

2nd Hannington’s Boudiville Love Story

14-month-old dog. Another very promising youngster showing lots of breed traits, masculine head, with scissor bite. Good depth and strength to body shown in a good coat of good texture. Balanced, nitpicking I would prefer slightly more angulation to give more reach and drive on the move. Moved ok

Graduate

Two quality youngsters’ littermates I learned after and not much to split these two really, it was just splitting hairs

1st Kirkwood’s Cazacade Can’t Catch Me

19-month-old dog shown in excellent condition with good bone and substance. Masculine throughout with a lovely head of good proportions, strong jaw with correct scissor bite, strong in neck with good depth to his body only a youngster and I feel there is so much more to come from this young man. Won here against his litter mate? On his driving action

2nd Kirkwood’s Coming Around Again

19-month-old bitch another quality youngster from this kennel, although not as finished as her brother at this point. Feminine but by no means lacking in bone and substance she presents a good outline. Well-muscled and shown in a good coat. Another very nice youngster just out moved by her littermate here today.

Open

1st Kirkwood’s Cazacade Betty Boop

3-Year-old bitch stood is longer than square with a lovely feminine head of good length and width, lovely eye giving a very good expression. Lovely bone and substance, good topline shown in good coat today and in excellent condition, this girl had the best upper arm / shoulder placement for me today and it showed in her movement to win this class.

2nd Pryce’s Cazacade So it Begins

4-year-old bitch, sister to first and no surprise as she is another quality bitch from this kennel. This bitch is a little larger stamp then 1 with excellent substance, rib and depth, although she was carrying a little excess weight that she really doesn’t need today. She has a very good topline and tail set, she is strong throughout very good coat moved well but her sister had the reach in front over her here today.
