Northwich & District Canine Society

Thank you to the Committee of Northwich and District Canine Society for the invitation to judge at your popular, well run Premier Open Show. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to judge so many quality dogs. Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing their hounds today and for accepting my decisions with good grace. My two stewards worked tirelessly and kept the ring ticking over so efficiently. Thank you for making my day such fun.

PUPPY 2 (1)

1st Blake Miss E J Crème Anglaise’s Too Hot To Handle For Mazargo (Imp NLD) Promising 10-month-old brindle and white bitch who stood naturally over a lot of ground – what a lovely start to my day! She was very collected for her age and nicely made all through. Pretty head with expressive oval eyes and the best of rosed ears. Long, elegant reach of neck fits smoothly into a good shoulder placement, her elbows are placed like a plumb line under her withers. Broad, well-ribbed back with correct slope to pelvis and tail set. I loved her rear quarters which were strong with well-bent stifles and short, parallel hocks. She was sound coming and going, and looked lovely in profile - she should have a bright future. 1st Perkins & Van Der Schaaf, Mrs C & Mr K Crème Anglaise’s Entourage With Silkridge Stunning 14-month-old pale brindle - this young hound is a first-class bitch. She impressed me with her quality, elegantly balanced outline – she is a series of curves from the end of her nose to the tip of her tail! A beautiful, feminine head that is long and lean with dark oval eyes, and the neatest of rosed ears. Super length of neck that flows into an excellent front assembly with a perfect return of upper arm. Her chest is deep and capacious; her ribs extend well back and are nicely sprung. Lovely curvy underline, her back is broad with a gentle arch over a short, powerful loin. Her hindquarters are broad and muscular with well-bent stifles and width to her second thigh. She excelled on the move, with a long, free, daisy cutting action – she ticked all the boxes today! BOB, HG1 & RBIS

2nd Coulter & Craig, Mrs V & Mrs N Collooney Huckleberry Well grown and shapely 12-month-old red and white parti male. Good front assembly with width and depth to his brisket. His back is broad and nicely ribbed with a sweeping underline and complimentary curvy topline. Correctly angulated rear quarters with well bent stifles and nicely let down hocks. Sound mover on the out and back.

1st Perkins & Van Der Schaaf, Mrs C & Mr K Crème Anglaise’s Entourage With Silkridge See 1st Junior

2nd Spicer, Mrs D & Mr A J Jothryn Parti Time Handsome 21-month-old brindle with white trim male. He is good for size and was shown in lovely condition. Refined, masculine head that is long and lean, he has strength to his underjaw and correct dentition. Pleasing front construction, with clean, well-laid shoulders. He stands on lovely bone with slightly sloping pasterns and neat, well-knuckled feet. Broad rear quarters, he has width to his second thigh and well let down hocks. A steady, positive mover.

1st Spicer, Mrs D & Mr A J Jothryn Muchacho 2-year-old curvy pale brindle boy. Smart, breed typical head with nicely rosed ears. Good width to back with nice length of ribbing and muscular loin. Shapely, well angulated rear with strong, parallel hocks. Shown in good coat and condition. He held his topline on the move.

2nd Handley, Ms A H Alysando’s Rainbow Skies Pretty, 8-year-old fawn with white trim bitch in super condition for her age, a credit to her owner. Sweetest of expressions with oval eyes and good pigmentation. Built on a lighter frame, she is balanced in angulations front and rear. She has a good depth of chest with a curvy underline and shapely topline. A steady mover around the ring.

1st Caney, Mr R C & Mrs M Springpine Tittle Tattle Solidly built 8 ½ -year-old tri bitch, she was just a little out of practice in the ring today. Pretty head and expression, her leathers are fine and set on low. Good reach of neck into a decent shoulder placement, she is well off for bone with short pasterns and tight feet. Pleasing profile movement, although just a little wide in rear. BOB

1st Grayson & Cullen, Mrs E & Mr D Ch Bushwacker American Hustle At Embeau Spectacular 4-year-old red and white male; he just oozes quality. He impressed me with his super balanced outline and wonderful gazelle like grace. I loved his masculine, yet aristocratic head that was attractively wrinkled with correct cushioning to his cheeks and the darkest of eyes. His beautifully crested neck flows smoothly into a super lay of shoulder, he stands on fine, quality bone with the best of feet. Strong and level in topline, his tail set high with a lovely tight curl and plenty of shelf behind. Moderate in his rear, he moved around the ring with a long and easy stride. BOB & HG3

1st Jackson, Mr R & Mrs A Mischran Vilgefortz at Padztar Beautifully presented 8-month-old red and white male at his first show - and didn’t he do well! This boy has super bladed bone and has lots of scope. Lovely masculine head with a dignified expression and detailed chiselling to his foreface. He is balanced in angulations fore and aft, with straight forelegs and slightly sloping pasterns. He is shapely in outline and shows promise. Sound on the out and back, his long, well feathered tail carried low. BP

2nd Tomkinson, Mr D Go Go Bolshoi Helios (Imp HUN) Well grown 8-month-old gold sable male. Pleasing head of good length, he has dark eyes and pigmentation and high set ears. Good strength of neck into a decent shoulder placement and length of upper arm, he is just a little loose in his pasterns at the moment. He has a lovely depth of chest, with a well-ribbed back, with fair width to thighs and broad parallel hocks. He was a little distracted on the move today, having to deal with all the smells on the grass.

1st Dawson, Mr A, Mr N & Mrs E Stubbylee At Sunrise Eye catching 13-month-old red and white bitch. She is shapely and presents a beautifully balanced outline on the stack. I loved her aristocratic head that is so typical of the breed. Her shoulders are clean and set sloping, her elbows placed directly under her withers. She has a lovely depth of brisket with a slightly pronounced breastbone. Her underline is curvy with a gentle sweeping croup and a long, well feathered tail carried low. Beautifully handled and shown in lovely silky coat. I could have watched her go all day; as she moved with such effortless power, true in all directions. RBOB

2nd Webb, Mrs K Mischran Tissaia At Parsax Feminine and elegant 4-year-old red and white bitch. Attractively shaped head with strength to her underjaw and correct dentition. She has a lovely front assembly with plenty of infill and correct return of upper arm. Deep chest with her ribs well back and a short, muscular loin. Her rear is broad with width to her second thigh and broad, vertical hocks. She looked lovely in profile, but just not the drive of 1st.

1st Dawson, Mr A, Mr N & Mrs E Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee JW Stylish and balanced 2-year-old white and grey male, presented in silky coat and firm muscular condition. I loved his large, lean masculine head; he has dark almond shaped eyes, strength to his muzzle and a lovely Roman nose. His strong, slightly arched neck flows smoothly into super front assembly. He stands on quality bladed bone with neat, well-knuckled feet. Great depth of brisket and length of ribbing, graceful topline and well balanced fallaway. His rear quarters are broad and nicely developed with well bent stifles and strong, parallel hocks. Moved out well in profile, with lots of drive behind. BOB

2nd Webb, Mrs K Mischran Calanthe At Parsax 4-year-old self-black bitch. Elegant head of equal planes with the darkest of eyes and small, delicate ears set on high. Long neck into a decent front assembly, her forelegs are clean and straight - although I would prefer more of an arch to her feet. She has a super depth of chest with oval ribbing and a shapely underline. Strong rear with good angulation and broad, low set hocks. Steady mover around the ring.

PUPPY 4

1st Bosworth, Mrs L Bronia Solange At Louromi Promising 7-month-old shaded red. She is elegant and nicely made all through. She has the prettiest of heads that was well proportioned with lovely dark eyes and correctly set ears. Good length of neck into a nicely made front assembly, her shoulders are clean and set obliquely. She is level in topline with her ribs extending well back and plenty of ground clearance. Her rear is developing nicely; she moved with a free and flowing gait. BP

2nd Blackshaw, Mr I Llanansior Do You Want Me 6 ½ -month-old red who was full of attitude! What a sassy young girl – she made me smile as she strutted her stuff around the ring. She has a pleasing outline with clean lines and good ground clearance. Balanced in angulations front and rear, I liked her depth of chest with a prominent breastbone and nicely ribbed back. A well-angulated rear which she used well on the move.

1st Harrison, Mr S Carlita Definitely Maybe 10-month-old red male who was a little unhappy and vocal while being assessed on the table. Conical shaped head with dark obliquely set eyes. Good length of neck into a decent front, he is well off for bone with neat, well-knuckled feet. He moved steadily around the ring with his head carried proudly, though he just needs to settle in his topline.

POST GRADUATE 3

1st Hardy, Mrs D C Rossmia Kensington Beauty Balanced and typey almost 3-year-old shaded red bitch. She certainly is a beauty! Quality head piece with strength and femininity. She has a good length of neck that fits smoothly into a lovely front assembly with a prominent breastbone and forelegs placed correctly. Her ribs extend well back, and she has a short, muscular loin. Shown in a dense, short coat, her movement was sound and free flowing. BOB

2nd Gittins, Mrs T M Boomerloo’s Robin I liked the size of this 2-year-old male. He had the right amount of ground clearance and was presented in good, muscular condition. A masculine head that he carried defiantly on the move, he is balanced in angulations fore and aft, his ribs are nicely sprung and extend well back. He moved out well on the out and back.

2nd Strange, Mrs C & Mr P Bronia’s Armond At Cazdachs Striking 2 ½-year-old red male. I liked his shape and outline; he is nicely proportioned with the right amount of ground clearance. Lovely masculine head, with dark eyes and pigmentation and the best of ears. Good front assembly with a prominent keel and super depth of chest. Strong and level topline which he held on the move. Tail nicely set and carried. Pushed hard, close decision between 1st & 2nd RBOB

1st Lowe, Miss G Harry M Windsor V H Ruwielse Land For Nasiriyah Well-made and shapely 11-month-old wild boar male. He was nicely handled by a wonderful young handler – she was only 11! Handsome head that was balanced and enhanced with wonderful furnishings. Clean neck into a decent front with his elbows fitting closely and neat, well-arched feet. His topline is level with width to his pelvis and correct tail set and carriage. He was a little enthusiastic on the move initially, but when he got himself together, he covered the ground well. 1st Patterson, Mr P & Mr B Brumberhill Biscuit To Ambiesque Quality 14-month-old wild boar bitch, with so many pleasing attributes. She entered the ring with a ‘look at me’ attitude. She was super confident and presented in a wonderful, harsh jacket. I loved the way she strutted around the ring with her head carried proudly. Her beautifully arched neck fits smoothly into an excellent front assembly with correct return of upper arm and prominent breastbone. She is sound in body with a level topline and short, muscular loin. Plenty of ground clearance underneath, she powered around the ring driving from her well-muscled rear quarters. BOB & HG4

2nd Adams, Mrs L Serengarth Bear With Me Lots to like on this handsome17-month-old red male. Typical head with dark almond shaped eyes and ears of good length. Shown in good, harsh coat this boy is balanced in angulations fore and aft with a prominent keel and good depth of brisket. Strong and level in topline, he moved out soundly and was true in all directions. RBOB

1st Adams, Mrs L Serengarth Bear With Me See 2nd Junior

2nd Clayton-Smith, Mrs S J Cairparavel Hartnell 2-year-old black brindle male, his harsh coat was gleaming in the sunshine. I loved his head with lovely dark eyes and plenty of furnishings. He has a pleasing length of neck into a decent front; he is level in topline with a good length of sternum. His rear is broad with the correct of turn of stifle. Sound mover in all directions.

Reachy neck into a nicely positioned scapula, his back is well-ribbed and he has a short, muscular loin. His rear quarter are nicely angulated with fair hocks. He moved with plenty of enthusiasm and looked a picture in profile, he just needs to settle in his topline. BOB

1st Barnicott & Pascoe, Messers Fahoogle Minack Beautifully presented 9-month-old shaded red bitch at her first show. A pretty head with dark almond shaped eyes and correctly positioned ears. Her neck is long and muscular; she has plenty of fore chest for her age and closely fitting elbows. I liked her rear that is broad and developing nicely. Level in topline, she moved with purpose and confidence around the ring. A promising puppy. BP

2nd O’Neill, Ms S M & Miss K J M Ranglewood Pheonix at Donnadach Smart 11-month-old black and tan male. He has an attractive masculine head with dark well shaped eyes, though to be picky I would prefer his ears to be a little higher set. He stands on super bone with neat, well-knuckled feet. He is level in topline with a short and muscular loin. His rear quarters are well-made with width to his second thigh and firm hocks.

1st Roberts, Mr D Swansford Padmeadora Quality 16-month-old shaded red, she is a top draw bitch - I absolutely loved her! She looked striking both in profile and on the move and possesses the desired height to length ratio. Feminine, breed typical head that was perfectly balanced. Clean neck that is elegantly arched and flows into an excellent front assembly with a prominent breastbone giving her the desired oval shape. Her chest is capacious and well-ribbed allowing her plenty of heart and lung room. She was sound in all directions and looked stunning in profile. Shown in perfect coat and condition, she should have a wonderful show career. BOB & HG2

Handsome, well-proportioned head with strength to his muzzle and correct dentition. Good front assembly with ample depth and infill of fore chest. He is level in topline; his ribs extend well back with a good length of sternum. He moved around the ring with a free and flowing gait. RBOB

2nd Foley, Ms C A Beauty Long At Clavennae 3-year-old silver dapple and tan male. Long, tapering head with strength to his muzzle and correct dentition. Good length of neck into a nicely made front, I liked his depth of chest and well sprung ribcage. His back is long and broad with a moderate tuck up. Shown in a soft, straight coat.

1st Causier, Mrs J Captain Caos Well grown 2-year-old cream male. Attractive head with dark almond shaped eyes and pigmentation. He is balanced in angulations fore and aft; his topline is level with a broad, muscular loin. He stands on pleasing bone with neat, well-knuckled feet but at times he had the tendency to stand with them splayed. Shown in good coat, he looked lovely in profile. BOB

1st McLatchie, Mrs G Artilily Hemingway Attractive10-month-old male, his coat was gleaming in the sunlight. Long and balanced head with dark oval eyes and nicely set ears. His neck is long and reachy and fits smoothly into a decent front assembly. He has good depth of brisket with his back well ribbed; his loin is muscular although just a tad long. His rear is moderately angulated with broad, parallel hocks. He moved positively around the ring although he just needs to tighten in his front movement as he matures. BP

1st Harrison, Ms C Zafaraniyeh Sahari Handsome 2-year-old back & tan male. Lovely masculine head with dark eyes and pigmentation, his silky fringed ears frame his head beautifully. His long, supple neck fits smoothly into a well-placed scapula with just enough return of upper arm and infill. I liked his sweeping underline and shapely topline. He has fair width to his rear, although he is a little long in is second thigh. Sound mover in all directions. BOB

1st Harrison, Ms C Khamsin’s Phoenix at Charrioak Elegant 4-year-old smooth tri colour male. He was presented in good coat and condition. He has a breed typical head with a wonderful, dignified expression. Balanced in his angulations front and rear, his back is nicely ribbed, and he has a short, muscular loin. His tail was set on low and carried in a gentle curve. He moved with a light and easy action in profile, but he was a little loose coming towards. RBOB

1st Heritage, Mr A M & Mrs J P Amaserwah Any Way The Wind Blows At Jazzmeenah (IKC) Impressive 2-year-old black masked gold male who is nicely made and proportioned. Classic, masculine head that is elegantly balanced. His dark triangular eyes give him the desired eastern appearance. This boy with attitude who just looks right through you! Long, strong neck that flows cleanly into nicely placed shoulders, his elbows are set well under. He is level in topline with well-ribbed back and prominent pin bones. His rear quarters are broad and nicely muscled with good length from hip to hock. He powered around the ring with scope and spring. BOB

2nd Hughes, Ms T J Istani Bob Dylan at Finkime JW Immaculately presented 19-month-old black and cream male. Masculine head that is beautifully chiselled, with a Roman nose and correct dentition. His forelegs are straight and well boned with bare pasterns and large, well-knuckled feet. He is balanced in angulations fore and aft with a lovely sweeping rear and low set parallel hocks. I would just prefer to see this boy carrying a little more weight. A light and effortless mover.

1st Kellet, Miss L Geordele Born Free Powerful 4 ½ -year-old black masked shaded male. Typical head with length and strength to his muzzle, low set ears with long silky fringes. He has a long, strong neck and carries his head proudly. His shoulders are long and set sloping, although I would prefer a little more length to his upper arm. He has good depth of chest with well-sprung ribs and a short muscular loin. His clean natural saddle shows off his level topline that he held on the move. He looked lovely in profile, his ring tail carried correctly. RBOB

2nd Heritage, Mr A M & Mrs J P Jazzmeenah Rohan Blaze Shapely almost 3-year-old black masked gold. Elegant, masculine head with dark eyes and punishing jaws. His long, muscular neck flows into a nicely positioned scapular, he has good depth of brisket with plenty of infill. Short and level topline with noticeable pin bones and correct fallaway. He moved out soundly and with verve, but I just wish he would carry his tail more proudly. Nicely handled and shown in lovely coat and condition.

1st Pearson, Miss Y C Amazing White A Story With A Tail At Armardio (Imp NLD) Quality 9-month-old red and white bitch. She has a fabulous head that is elegantly domed. Her eyes are dark and clean giving her a delightful expression; and she has the most wonderful long, lace leathers. Muscular, attractively arched neck fits into a well-made front assembly, she has a good depth of chest with a prominent breastbone. Her rear quarters are developing nicely, with width to her second thighs and short hocks. Plenty of ground clearance underneath, her movement out and back was true. 2nd Land, Ms S L Clanwillow The Jazz Singer Well developed 8-month-old tri male of pleasing size and outline. I loved his head that was clean and nicely proportioned, his leathers are long and velvety and curl well inwards. He is balanced in his angulations front and rear. His topline was level with a broad, muscular back and short loin. Fabulous temperament on this boy, he certainly made me smile as he moved around the ring with a smooth and steady action, his long tail constantly wagging.

1st Land, Ms S L Starchief Grant Handsome 3-year-old tri male. He presented a pleasing picture on the stack. Dignified, masculine head with clean, bright eyes and a lovely Roman nose; he was certainly using his large nostrils today! Good length of neck into well placed shoulders, his back is well-ribbed. He is level in topline and maintains it well on the move. His stern is long and tapering but is just set a tad low. He moved around the ring with purpose and was nicely handled.

1st Pearson, Miss Y C Armardio Wind Of Change JW Quality almost 3-year-old red blanket bitch with so much to appreciate. She is strongly made with super bone and substance, yet she maintains an air of elegance. Beautiful, feminine head of good planes, she has good depth of lip and clean flews. I loved her muscular neck that was beautifully arched and fitted smoothly into a lovely lay of shoulder. Her chest is capacious, and her ribcage extends well back. Rear quarters are powerfully made and are nicely muscled giving her the desired almost spherical appearance from behind. With more than enough ground clearance underneath her, she moved around the ring with plenty of scope. BOB

2nd Pearson, Miss Y C Ch Armardio Im On Fire JW 7-year-old red and white bitch with a lovely breed typical head and sweet expression. Her strong, muscular neck fits smoothly into a good front assembly, her elbows fit neatly against her side. Broad and well filled in forechest, her back is nicely ribbed and extends well back. She is sturdy in body with a level topline and adequate ground clearance. Standing on quality bone with large, well-padded feet she moved soundly on the out and back.
