South Western Tibetan Spaniel Club

South Western Tibetan Spaniel Club Special Award Classes 19/07/2025 I’d like to say thank you to the committee for their great hospitality and to the exhibitors for providing me with a lovely entry this morning, it was a very enjoyable day throughout. Class A. Special Award Junior (7,3) 1st 52- Smith’s Lacoral Anya 8 month old gold bitch. Very pretty, feminine head with correct mouth, nice width of chin and length to muzzle, good eye shape and a nice lift to her ears. Moderate length of neck, nice front assembly with lovely tight elbows, slight bow to front legs. Nice rear angulation and correct tail set. Slightly bum high at the moment but given her age I’m sure this will even out as she matures. Lovely clean movement in all directions. 2nd 2- Bevis’ Lacoral Duke Of York At Starlance 8.5 month old dog, litter sibling to 1st. In a larger mould than 1st, masculine throughout, slightly domed skull, good length to muzzle with correct mouth, good width to chin and length to muzzle, nice lift to ears. Correct length of neck. Nice front assembly with tight elbows, slight bow to front legs. Level topline leading into balanced rear angulation and correct tail set. Balanced in height and length but would prefer slightly less of him throughout. Clean free movement in all directions and very well-schooled. Class B. Special Award Post Graduate (8,3) 1st 4- Bevis’ Souska Touch The Sky Over Starlance JW 17 month old shaded sable dog. Going through his coat change but can see everything I needed to today. Presents a nice outline. Masculine throughout. Slight dome to head, nice dark eyes, correct pigment, good mouth and width to chin, could use his ears a little more to help show his expression. Nicely angulated fore and after. Level topline leading into a correctly set tail. Slight bow to front legs. Nice amount of bone for a male. Free, clean movement in all directions. 2nd 62- Stevens & Mcknight’s Mullagh My Irish Ivy At Tibbygold (IKC) 2.5 year old bitch. Super feminine throughout, could have a touch more bone. Presents a lovely shape. Well angulated in both in front and behind, slight bow to front legs, tight elbows, correct tail set and carriage. Nice eye shape, good pigment, correct mouth and width to chin. Preferred the ear set of the 1st which would help her expression. Well-conditioned and presented, moved well in all directions. Class C Special Awards Open (10,3) 1st 7- Brown & Colaço’s Ch Saxtead Norbu 3.5 year old Gold Dog. I’ve enjoyed watching this boy from the ringside so I was looking forward to getting my hands on him. Masculine but not over done in any way. Presents a lovely outline when stood. Head small in proportion to body, slightly domed skull, correct shape, size and colour to his eyes with good pigment. Correct bite, good width to chin and length to muzzle. He uses his ears well. Nicely angulated in front with good depth to chest, tight elbows, slight bow to front legs and correct hare feet. Level topline both when stood and on the move. Nicely angulated at the back with correct tail set. In good condition. Lovely movement in all directions and he is quite the showman. 2nd 63- Stevens & Mcknight’s Ch Rhubisk Dressed To Impress At Tibbygold 8.5 year old bitch. So feminine throughout, pretty head that’s small in proportion to her body, slight dome to her skull, correct eye shape, colour and size. Correct bite, good cushioning to her muzzle and width of chin. Moderate length of neck, nice lay of shoulder, good front angulation, tight elbows, slight bow to front legs and correct hare feet. Level topline, correct tail set, matching angulation behind presenting a balanced bitch. She could be a shade shorter in loin to give her that balanced outline but overall she is a beautiful bitch to go over. Moved well in all directions, in beautiful condition and well presented.
