Emma Williamson (Magickaray)

20th July 2025

I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge Dalmatians at their well run and friendly show. Thanks to my steward Kirk for his support and keeping everything running as smoothly as possible to have our judging completed in the breaks between the torrential rain. A huge thank you to the exhibitors that took the time to bring their dogs under me despite the inclement weather.

DALMATIANS

PUPPY (2,1)

1 Davies’ Maddidalli Aurora’s Heart- 11MO Black Btch- a promising youngster. Heavily marked with a rich, dark pigment but not overdone. A pretty feminine face with a correct broad skull and pleasing dark eye. Elegant neck leading into defined withers. Good front with plenty of bone. Nice tight cat feet. Moderate angulation. Well balanced. Tracking nicely on the move and keeping a level topline, working well with her handler. Interested to see how she matures. BEST PUPPY IN BREED and pleased to hear she was awarded PUPPY GROUP 4.

2 Smart’s Wibmeister Remy at Coastalcove-10MO Black Dog- Another smart puppy with a lot to like. Broad flat masculine skull and super dark eye, framed with well set ears. Well off for bone, nice tight cat feet. Deep and capacious chest, ribs well sprung and carried well back. Moderate angulation. well-muscled. Correct tail set and carried well. Moved well with reach and drive, just not as settled on the move as 1 but a puppy clearly enjoying his time in the ring.

SPECIAL YEARLING (3,1)

1 Howard- Riddle’s Shydally Stars Aligned- 14MO Black Btch- A finer type with a pretty feminine head and face. Super bold pigment. Correct dark eye and framed with well set ears. Strong front with enough bone, nice compact cat feet. Deep chest with plenty of heart and lung room, ribs well sprung and carried well back. Moderate angulation and well balanced all over. Tracking correctly and moving straight on the out and back. A little more maturing to go, but plenty of time. Working beautifully in unison with her handler. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.

2 Claeson’s Dalstorm Just Jiving- 22MO Black Dog- A heavier and obviously masculine dog, up for height and size but balanced. Nice head, moderate stop, broad flat skull. Correct dark eye. Good front with plenty of bone, deep chest, plenty of heart and lung room. Moderate angulation. Moving slightly close behind today but moved well in profile and held a super topline. Sadly not in his best coat today with a bit of dally rash. A close class with two very different dogs but just took 2nd on the finer details on the day. BEST OPPOSITE SEX.

POST GRADUATE (3,1)

1 Bridge’s Akoni Buttery D’Or- 2YO Black Btch. Beautifully marked feminine face, broad flat skull, super dark eye, framed with well set ears. Nicely arched elegant neck. Well laid shoulders. Excellent front with plenty of bone, tight cat feet. Deep and capacious chest, plenty of heart and lung room. Correct moderate angulation. In the fittest condition of all the dogs today, well-muscled all over with well-developed second thigh and rear producing excellent drive that was balanced with correct reach. Straight and true going out and back and held her topline in profile. An honest btch with a fluid and easy gait and power in her movement. Very fit for function. BEST OF BREED.

2 Davies’ Maddidalli River Song-5YO Black Btch. A good sized girl, lightly marked face contrasting with a dark eye and framed with well set ears. Elegant neck leading into defined withers, good front with enough bone. Tight cat feet. Moderate angulation and well balanced. Well set tail and carried well. Moved out well and showed good reach and drive. A little unsettled today on the stand by the loud wind flapping the gazebo, but understand she’s just returned to showing from a break.

A little giddy in the ring and gave her handler some work on the out and back but tracked well and moved beautifully in profile with excellent reach and drive and holding a level topline. Clearly enjoying her day out.
