THE EASTERN ST BERNARD CLUB OPEN SHOW

A very enjoyable mornings judging going over a good entry of this wonderful breed. A very friendly well run show with sporting exhibitors, temperaments were very good, i thought the condition of the dogs was excellent, very encouraging to have youngsters coming through that should have bright futures in the ring.
MPD 2(1)
1. Lyons’ Nando Alsani Giants at Snowfordhill (imp POL). Just 6 months, real baby, lovely head, has good width of muzzle and depth, correct head proportions, clean cheeks, ears are well set, lovely quality of bone, compact feet, strong neck, nicely proportioned body, ribs of good length, sloping croup, needs to strengthen in his rear, a little unsettled to begin with on move, holds his top-line on the move, lots of promise, just a real baby, BPD.

1. Venable-Smith’s Svanasjons Xtra Special (imp SWE). Lovely headpiece, has good width of muzzle and depth, clear furrow, slightly rounded skull with good ear set, nice quality of lip, excellent forechest with moderate amount of bone and compact feet, well sprung ribs, deep chest for age, little soft in top-line, nice width in rear angulation, correct croup and tail set, just needs to strengthen in rear on the move but nice type and good condition.
2. Everton’s Coldlea Midnight Sapphire. Masculine dog, ideally would like a little bit more length of leg, slightly rounded skull, large ears, ideally prefer a little shorter foreface, compact feet, good ribs, top-line and tail set, low set hocks, not as fluid as 1 on the move and also needs to strengthen in rear.
3. Molyneux’s Coldlea Simply The Best.

1. Deegan/Grainger’s Chandlimore High Flyer. Excellent proportions and balance with good length of leg, lovely masculine headpiece, clean cheeks, level muzzle, good width of skull with correct furrow, has drop of lip, strong arched neck, excellent straight forelegs with good bone right down to his feet, excellent ribbing for age, strong neck, super top-line, croup, strong rear angulation, good length of tail, firm condition, moves round, holds his top-line with good footfall, lovely balance and type,not the finished article but everything in the right place, just maturity to make him a very exciting dog.BD & BIS.
2. Carman’s Scales of Justice for Willowshade. Is a younger dog, slightly different shape from 1, ideally could have more bone, little plainer in head, good muzzle to skull proportions, prefer slightly darker eye, moderate bone, needs to develop in chest and ribs for age, good top-line,slightly sloping croup with nice tail set, prefer a little more rear angulation, full of life, once settled does hold his outline, just needs time.

1. Mokryk’s Streillys Hugo The Boss by Bellfries. Good proportions, clean head, moderate lip, ears well set, straight forelegs with enough bone, strong neck, excellent ribs, has some nice forechest to him, short loin, ideally would like a little more real angulation to him, tail carried a little high on the move, lovely condition, when moves holds his shape with good footfall in profile, lots to like.
2. Ball’s Beausaints Dark N’stormy. Stronger dog than 1, bit of a handful for owner, large strong bone, a bit overdone in head for me,thick lips, ideally like less wrinkle over cheek and slightly better eye, good proportions to him, could have a little more depth of chest, compact feet,level top-line, moderate rear with low set hocks, could be a little bit straighter in forelegs, has good parts to him but a much stronger dog all through.

1. Bell/Jeffries’ Kingdom On The Rock Wielkopolski Bemardyn at Saranbeck (imp POL). Lovely honest strong dog, masculine but not overdone, good quality of bone, pleasing head with good width of skull, correct muzzle/skull proportions, nice quality of lip, large nose,muscular neck, straight forelegs, compact feet, has fill in front with depth to his chest,good length of rib, excellent top-line, well angled rear with low set hocks, ideally liken a fraction more leg length,holds his shape on the move, very balanced,, lots to like, RBD.

1. Macdonald’s Kenbloom Tip Top at Chedham (NAF). Lovely headpiece, good quality of bone and substance for age, balanced head, level muzzle, good lips, has some width with slightly rounded skull, good eyes, strong neck, excellent proportions, still needs to firm up in top-line but good chest, ribs, rear angulation, croup and low set hocks, steady mover, sound out and back, Best Baby Puppy in Show.
2. Macdonald’s Kenbloom Have A Nice Day at Chedham (NAF). Litter mate to 1, straight forelegs, nice quality of bone, good length of leg, strong neck, level top-line, a little more unco-ordinated than 1, strong rear in profile, pleasing head but still to develop in skull, good muzzle strength and depth, ears well set, needs time.
3. Brennan’s Streillys Queen of The Night.

1. Lyons/Grubb’s Penelope Van’t Hof Ten Eynder at Snowfordhill (imp BEL). Feminine head, good muzzle, eyes set level with muzzle, correct furrow in skull, straight forelegs with compact feet, deep chest,could have little more leg length for ideal, well developed ribs, good body, excellent top-line, strong rear with low set hocks, correct croup and tail set, holds her shape on the move, 8 years old, nice condition, has breed type, BVIS.

1. Thorpe/Meyrick’s Coldlea Eva Gabor. Liked her proportions, good length of leg to body, pleasing head, still to develop in skull, lovely eye, level muzzle, slightly rounded skull, straight forelegs with ok feet, nice depth of chest for age, holds her top-line moving, moderate angulation but balanced front and back, arched neck, in profile holds her shape, nice type, BPB & BPIS.
2. Thorpe/Meyrick’s Coldlea Good Night Midnight. Littermates, she has a fraction more bone than 1, straight forelegs with compact feet, a little bit longer cast than 1, lovely dark eye, abrupt stop,clean cheeks, ears well set, good stop, ribs of fair length with a firm backline,low set hocks, not as clean in the rear as 1, both have nice qualities, just needs time to develop.

Lovely strength and substance, very balanced, good quality of bone and feet, feminine balanced head, correct body/leg proportions, slightly rounded in skull, eyes dark and well set, good depth of muzzle, strong neck, front well under body, good top-line, good depth of chest, rib could be a fraction longer and still to develop but strong rear with low set hocks, when she settles she holds her top-line on the move, sound out and back, lovely condition, full of type, RBB.
2. Deuchar-Fawcett’s Saranbeck Dare To Dream. Nicely proportioned bitch, good quality bone, excellent ribs, ideally would like more fill in front, pleasing head with a lovely eye and expression, good width and depth of muzzle, has correct furrow between eyes, not overdone in lip, ears well set,has strength in neck,compact feet, liked her substance and strength, well set hocks, ideally could have a slightly firmer top-line on the move.
3. Booth’s Chandlimore Reach Out Beausaints.

1. Windsor’s Chandlimore Heart of Fire. Lovely headpiece, has strength and substance but still being feminine, defined stop, lovely width and depth and strength in muzzle, thick lips, straight forelegs, lovely bone, moderate neck, well sprung ribs, deep chest,could have little more leg length, moderate in rear angulation, croup a little flat, level top-line, sound mover up and down holding her shape, nice condition in body and coat.

1. Booth’s Chandlimore Star Struck with Beausaints. Strong build with lovely bone and substance, really nice head and expression, dark eyes, clean cheeks, good quality of lip, defined stop, slightly rounded skull, straight forelegs, good feet, nice depth of chest, could be a little bit firmer in top-line, moderate rear with correct croup and tail, liked her strength and power on the move with good footfall, good size.
2. Deuchar-Fawcett’s Amazing Passion Wielkopolski Bernardyn Saranbeck (imp POL). Lovely proportions, excellent muzzle with depth, good stop, good furrow between eyes , ears well set, little flat in skull, straight forelegs, lovely neck, ribs, chest, top-line, rear angulation, strong tail, correct croup, nice proportions, lots to like, just liked the fluidity of 1 on the move but a nice smooth bitch.
3. Brennan’s Saintlyntree Queen Pebbles.

1. O’Reilly’s Ch. Fantagira Wielkopolski Bemardyn at Streillys (imp POL). Feminine headed bitch, good width of slightly rounded skull, muzzle a fraction shorter than ideal,eyes well set, clean cheeks, lovely quality of bone, good strength and substance all through, a well made front, front legs nicely under her body, excellent depth of chest, well sprung ribs, firm level top-line, very sound from all angles, low set hocks, liked her balance and proportions, nice type, BB & RBIS.
