Firstly, I would like to thank the hard-working committee for inviting me to judge at their lovely show.

Also, a huge thank you to my steward Richie for keeping the ring moving smoothly and for all his help. And all the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me, accepting my placings.

The ring was a great size for our breed, allowing me to ask the exhibitors to really move their beautiful dogs. I did notice that they were moving their dogs rather fast, so I asked them to slow down as this showed off the dogs natural movement better.

Puppy – no entries

Special Yearling – (3/0)

1st – Blackmore Miss Z E, Charismatic Caspar of Morejinx. An 11mth old black dog that has some maturing to do. Everything is there; he just needs to fill out a little more. Lovely head with well set ears, dark eyes giving a beautiful expression, correct muzzle and bite. Lovely dark pigment, spotting pleasing to the eye. Overall, he is balanced with equal angulation front and rear, level top line and tail well set which he held well on the move. BPIB

2nd – Howard Mrs H J, Decoda’s Treasure Chest. 14mth old black bitch who was certainly enjoying her day! Slightly heavier in the head than 1 but keeping her femininity, well set ears that she held well framing her head. Dark eyes with a cheeky expression, correct muzzle and bite. Nice neck into level topline and good tail set, she didn’t stop wagging all day! Liked her balance throughout, good lay of shoulder, nice chest, plenty of bone but keeping the elegance and nice tight catlike feet. On the move she showed reach and drive but I just preferred 1st’s movement and spotting on the day.

3rd – Smart Miss C, Wibmeister Remy at Coastalcove.

Post Graduate – (6/1)

1st – Corcoran & Howard-Riddle Miss A & Mrs S, Shydally Star Gazer. My notes say wow!! He’s a dog I have seen ringside and wanted to get my hands on him as I knew that’s when I would really appreciate his qualities, and he didn’t disappoint.

This 16mth old boy was on top form today! He has a very handsome head that isn’t too overdone, but really says I’m a boy look at me! His ears really framed his head, and he used them so well, dark oval eyes that gave him a cheeky expression, lovely long neck that led into a super level topline and correct tail set, another that wagged his tail constantly, his angulation front and rear match perfectly, correct lay of shoulder, good chest giving ample heart & lung room, plenty of bone without being overdone, nice tight catlike feet. This boy really came into his own on the move showing his reach and drive from all angles. Handled beautifully, and so happy to award him BOB in great company. The icing on the double cake today was watching him go on to win Group 1 and ultimately BIS!!!!! Will watch him going forward, as there is more to come.

2nd – Claesen, Miss S & Dr J R, Dalstorm Just Jiving. 2yr old black boy with lovely pigment but was just a little out of coat today. Head of good proportions, with well set ears, dark expressive eyes, correct muzzle and scissor bite. Neck leading to level topline which he held on the move, good tail set. Balanced throughout, good amount of bone and tight feet. At first he was moved too fast which was detrimental to him, when I asked the handler to slow down I was able to see his true movement. He has the sweetest of expressions.

3rd – D’Allen Miss J F R, Kingshaka Brown Sugar.

Open – (3/2)

This was the hardest class to judge! Having judged both beautiful girls before.

1st Pace Miss N, Sadiedel’s Arab Girl JW. 2.5yr old black bitch that has matured since I judged her last. She has the sweetest of expressions, feminine head, well set and broken ears that she used well, lovely dark eye, correct muzzle and bite. Long neck into well laid shoulders, level topline and well set tail. She has filled out in body with maturity while keeping her femininity. On the move, she has everything you want to see – reach and drive, level topline and could see her behind a carriage all day. Pleased to award her RBOB.

2nd – Finch & Bonner Miss S D & Mr J K E, Sophtspot Kalamity Jane with Dalticino. 5.5yr old black bitch with deep rich pigment. She also has the sweetest expression and was so attentive to her handler. Feminine head with well set, broken ears that she used well. Pretty dark eyes, correct muzzle and scissor bite. Lovely neck leading into a level topline and tail set, correct lay of shoulder, good chest, elbows tight to her chest, nice bone and tight catlike feet. On the move she was a little erratic to what I have seen previously, and I put this down to the wind as she was really enjoying herself (the wind got up her as the saying goes!) which did effect my decisions somewhat.
