Puppy - (1,1)

SY - (0)

Limit - (3,0)

1st - PIPES & GROVES, BUSHWACKER DON JUAN JW (BOB)

This male is progressing well since I last judged him. He is powerful, strong, and well-balanced, exhibiting good bone structure and muscle tone. His head is masculine, featuring a deep muzzle, soft expression, and correct proportions (just off-square). Noteworthy is his deep chest, well-sprung ribs, strong topline, and muscular croup. He moved with effortless drive.

2nd - PHILLIPS, BUSHWACKER DONNIE DARKO

This dog, the litter brother to the winner, is leaner and not as well-balanced at this stage. The handler should exercise caution to avoid over-stretching him. He possesses a handsome head with an alert expression, a clean neck and shoulders, good depth of chest, and ample spring of rib. Once settled, his movement was good

3rd - HUTTONS, PICCORINO PORTATORE D’AMORE

Open - (2,1)

1st - PIPES & GROVES - BUSHWACKER DEMETRIO

Another masculine male, very typical of this kennel's line, with a lovely head and expression. If I were being critical, I would prefer slightly less foreface. He has a strong neck, straight forelegs with ample bone, excellent pasterns, deep chest from withers to brisket, plenty of lung room, good rear angulation, and great feet. He moved well but simply lacked the presence or attitude of the Limit class winner.

German Wirehaired Pointer

Puppy - (0)

SY - (0)

Limit - (1,0)

1st - JOHNSTONS, GLENQUIN THE GENERAL (BOB)

A substantial and well-balanced male that exhibits great character and power; his handler presented him to advantage. The masculine head is broad over the skull, though a preference for slightly less muzzle length. He possesses a clean neck, well-laid shoulder, strong topline, and good tail carriage. Structure includes good rib spring, correct loin tuck-up, and a good bend of stifle. Although he moved acceptably, the handler's caution in the small ring suggests he should be viewed in a more spacious environment to fully assess his movement.

Open - (2,0) Litter brother and sister in this class and this caused both to not be as settled as I am sure they can be.

1st - LOVATT, LOVATT & GETTINGS, IR SH CH BEECHILLAWN BREAK THE MOULD (IKC) CPW’24 INT/IR/NLD JCH DW’24 DJW’24

I was very impressed with this medium-sized bitch's excellent breed type. She had a beautiful, balanced head with a gentle expression and ample facial furnishing. Her construction was sound, featuring a clean neck, well-laid shoulders, good forechest, deep brisket, well-sprung ribs, and a firm topline with a correct fall over the croup. She moved out strongly, clearly showing the power in her hindquarters.

2nd - LOVATT, LOVATT & GETTINGS, IR SH CH BEECHILLAWN MINT CHIP IR JCH CJW22 CENT JW CENT W TAF [ATC AZ322111IKC]

This dog is the litter brother to the winner and shares similar qualities, though he presents as more masculine. However, he lacks the balance and strength in the hindquarters that his sister possesses.

Pointers

Puppy - 4,2

1st - ANGUS & ONEIL, TENSHILLING CATCH THE WIND

This 10-month-old Orange and White male is a picture of masculinity and is well-bodied, showing graceful curves and good muscle tone. He possesses a beautiful head with a gentle expression and dark, expressive eyes. Structurally, he has ample depth to his chest, good spring of the rib, straight forelegs, and a correct-length tail. He moved well, considering the limitations of the small ring.

2nd - HARRISON, MILLPOINT SILVER WINGS

This 7-month-old Black and White Bitch is very feminine, possessing a pretty head that is not yet quite balanced. She is currently lacking confidence in the ring and does not exhibit the same balance as the class winner. She is a puppy who clearly needs more time to mature and gain ring experience.

SY - 4,2

1st - BOOTH, LUNDGARTH TICKET TO FLY JW

This is a young male who shows great promise but needs time to fully mature and strengthen his frame. He has an expressive head with plenty of work in it, completed by a lovely expression from his hazel eyes. He possesses a clean neck and tight feet. His movement was a particular highlight, covering the ground effortlessly in the small ring with complete ease.

2nd - HARRISON, MILLPOINT WINGS OF FIRE (BP)

I loved the shape and substance of this bitch, who was very well-boned with plenty of muscle for her age. She is graceful in her curves and possesses a clean neck and good lay of shoulder. For her age, she shows great depth of chest and spring of rib, along with a strong topline and plenty of width. Her head is pretty and well-balanced with dark eyes, though her expression was a little more alert than I would expect. She did, however, lack confidence in the ring. Once she settled and got into her stride, she demonstrated good reach and drive.

Limit - 6,2

1st - DUNN, MEADOWPOINT HOCUS POCUS JW (BOB - GUNDOG GROUP 1)

I was delighted to get my hands on this three-year-old liver and white bitch, having admired her from the ringside. She is a strong and symmetrical Pointer, presenting with beautiful curves, with nothing on her being over-exaggerated. She possesses the prettiest of heads, complemented by a cheeky expression. Her neck and shoulders are clean, leading to straight forelegs, good length and slope to her pasterns, and tight feet. She has an ample spring to her ribs, which are well laid back, and strong hindquarters with excellent angulation, having an ample bend to the stifle and well let down hocks. She truly came alive on the move, demonstrating a smooth, animated gait that covered the ground with complete ease.

2nd - TRUEMAN, MILLPOINT BAMBURGH BOY

This Orange and White male is masculine and well-presented. He possesses a beautiful head with a dark eye and a gentlemanly expression, a clean neck, good lay of shoulder, substantial bone, and tight feet. However, he was placed second as he lacked the overall balance or the superior show attitude of the winner.

3rd - WALTON, MEADOWPOINT JACK O’LANTERN AT POINTMOOR

Reserve - PRESSLEY, LARGE & LARGE, MATTIBOO WHITE QUEEN

Open - 3,1

1st - TRUEMAN, BRADLEYPOINT FLOKI

This striking black and white male was presented in excellent condition, showing great muscle tone and a lovely, graceful curve throughout. He possesses a masculine head with good proportions, a deep chest, well-sprung ribs, a strong topline, and ample rear angulation, including a good bend of stifle and well-let-down hocks. He appeared quite tense and needed to relax into his performance. When moving, he covered the ground well with ease and showed a characteristic slashing tail.

2nd - PRESSLEY, SNIPERAY AMBROSIA

This eight-year-old lemon and white bitch was distinctly feminine with an attractive head, although she was not as well-balanced as the winner. She possessed a deep chest, a firm topline, and strong rear angulation, and she moved well.

Welsh Springer Spaniels

Puppy - 0

SY - 1,1

Limit - 3,1

1st - WARD, GLENBROWS FLAME FOR TANTARAVIZ

This young female was elegantly handled and presented in good coat and condition. She possesses a beautiful head with a dark, cheeky-looking eye, and is clean in the neck and shoulders with a deep chest. However, I would prefer more spring to her rib and overall width; she is also rather long in the loin and appears stronger in the forequarters, lacking overall balance at this stage. She moved with great attitude, with her tail actively slashing throughout.

2nd - WALLINGTON, FERNDEL RENZO AT ROVINJDAL

This dog, while more typical of the breed than the winner, presented a very close decision between the two. He is a masculine and well-balanced dog with a beautiful head and expression. His construction is sound, featuring a good lay of shoulder, substantial bone, and excellent muscle coverage. He possesses a strong topline, great depth from withers to brisket, well-sprung ribs, and strong rear angulation. However, he was outdone by the winner's superior drive in movement on the day.

Open - 2,0 Two beautiful bitches in this class and a close decision between the pair.

1st - LEWIN, SH CH SANTALLINA OLYMPIC FLAME OVER VYNESBROOK JW

This beautiful bitch was presented in excellent, gleaming condition and is of good size. Her head is very pretty with correct proportions, a dark eye, soft expression, and lovely ears. She possesses a clean neck and shoulders, ample bone, good overall width, and is well-ribbed. While she was noted for slightly tucking herself up while standing (likely due to the cold venue), her construction includes well-muscled rear angles with a good bend of stifle and well-let-down hocks. Her movement was excellent, covering the ground with ease and displaying the characteristic springer footfall expected of the breed.

2nd - TEW, PAMICKS DREAM WITH ME

A bitch I have judged previously, she is of a different type to the winner, being more substantial in both height and length. She possesses an attractive head, though finer and longer in the muzzle than the winner. She is well-balanced, with a firm topline, good body depth to the chest, and ample spring of rib. Presented in good coat and condition, she moved out well, covering the ground effortlessly.

Weimaraner

The high quality of the exhibits under me on this day made my decisions challenging, and I am confident that placings in these classes will vary many times throughout the dogs' careers.

Puppy - 8,4

1st - DOBBS, THEONDALE HIGH HOPES (BP & PG4)

This puppy is a true standout, possessing a charismatic presence that immediately draws attention. He is a substantial dog yet maintains excellent overall balance. His handsome head features lovely eyes and a wonderful expression, with good ear length, though a slightly shorter foreface would be preferred. Structurally, he boasts good fore and aft angulation, a deep chest, well-sprung ribs, a firm topline, and a correct tuck-up and tail set. He covered the ground with impressive reach and drive, holding his tail well. I will certainly be keeping a keen eye on the future development of this promising dog.

2nd - MERCURI, WEIPOWA LICENSE TO SPY

This male, a different type from the winner, is masculine throughout but currently lacks the balance of the first-place dog. I preferred his head, which, despite a more alert expression, had proportions closer to the breed standard. He features a strong, muscular neck, deep chest, strong bone, good rib spring, and correct tuck-up, though he was shorter in the loin than the winner. His movement was good once he settled.

3rd - RODGERS, MINSTERGATE CELEBRATION

Reserve - PILATOVA, SABSKY SPILBERK

SY - 5,3

1st - LONGBOTTOM, GUNALT WINGMAN (BOB & GRP 2).

This outstanding male is mature for his age, presenting as an exceptional example of the breed with nothing exaggerated. He boasts strong bone, excellent muscle tone, and a beautiful head and expression. His conformation is excellent, featuring a strong, firm neck, well-laid shoulders, deep chest, well-sprung ribs, correct body length, a firm topline, and strong hindquarters. He moved effortlessly, though the only minor critique was a preference for a slightly quicker pace.

2nd - DOBBS, THEONDALE HIGH HOPES

Limit - 5,1

1st - JENNINGS, WALLAROO ROMEO JW

This upstanding male is coming into his own, presenting with a masculine head and a mischievous expression. He has a good forechest, but his ribs still need to spring fully. He is soundly constructed with a good tuck-up, strong hindquarters, correct bend of stifle, and well-let-down hocks. He won this class on his togetherness on the move, as he truly strode out and owned the ring despite him being a bit proud of his tail, I couldn’t deny him the class.

2nd - MOORE, THEONDALE MAVE THE RAVE AT CAVALMIST

This feminine bitch was giving her handler a hard time today. She has a pretty head with a soft expression and is clean in the neck and shoulders; however, the handler should ensure she does not shorten her neck into her shoulders. She exhibits good depth from withers to brisket, ample forechest, well-sprung ribs, and a good length of body with sufficient tuck-up. She lacked the strength in the rear of the class winner. Her movement was initially erratic but settled to cover the ground with ease.

3rd - PILATOVA, SABSKY SASANKA

Reserve - DAVIES-BROWN, GUNALT POLISHED AT WYSTRY

Open - 5,1

1st - DOBBS, KALIMOR SUMMA LOVE JW

A feminine bitch of compact size, presented in good bone and condition. She has an elegant head with a beautiful expression. She tends to lean back and compromise her topline. She has a deep chest, well-sprung ribs, and ample angulation, which she showcased in movement, covering the ground effortlessly and with great enthusiasm.

2nd - PORTER-MANNING & PORTER, WALLAROO KYNKI BOOTZ JW

This is a male I greatly admire, though he was not presenting himself to his full advantage today. He possesses a handsome head with correct proportions and a truly gentle expression, set on a beautiful neck and shoulders. He is well-boned, stands on straight forelegs, and has ample depth of chest with a good spring of rib. He appeared somewhat high in the rear and, like others, carried his tail proudly. Despite this, he moved out well across the ring.

3rd - PILATOVA, SABSKY SVRATKA JW

Reserve - BROWN & FILBY, DESJIEM BILLY DONT BE A HERO JW

AVNSC Gundog

Puppy - 1,0

1st - RICE, TIAMARIA BELLA ROSA (BOB, BP)

I was extremely impressed with this puppy's excellent breed type; she is compact yet powerfully built and well-muscled, with a beautiful tail. Her head is pretty and correctly proportioned, featuring dark eyes and an animated expression, set on a clean, amply long neck. She is deep-chested with good rib spring for her age, with strong, muscular loins and good strength in her rear angulation. She exhibited lovely spring in her movement, with good reach and drive, actively slashing her tail and clearly enjoying her time in the ring.

SY - 0

Limit - 1,0

1st - RICE, TIAMARIA JUNIPER BERRY

The class winner is clearly from the same kennel as the puppy. She was presented in a beautiful coat and condition, appearing slightly more substantial than the puppy. She is feminine throughout, with a beautiful head and expression, though her neck was not as clean as the puppy's. She has a firm topline, a deep chest, well-sprung ribs, and strong hindquarters, and moved out well, though the puppy had a little extra 'sparkle' in her movement today.

1st - GEORGE-AINSCOUGH, SIVA LOVKYNA ACHOUFFE

A pretty bitch, full of character, presenting as well-balanced with a lovely head and expression. She has a long, clean neck, good lay of shoulders, a firm topline, and a deep chest with ample rib spring for her age. She stands on straight forelegs and tight feet, with a good bend of stifle and well-let-down hocks. She currently needs to body up and gain muscle, which should develop as she matures.

Open 1,0

1st - MOORE, ACHOUFFE’S SUMMER MAGIC AT CAVALMIST

A well-presented female, who was full of character and proved challenging for her handler on the stand. She has a feminine head of good proportions, beautiful, soft-expression eyes, a muscular neck, and a well-bodied frame with well-sprung ribs. However, in my opinion, she was carrying a little too much weight. She possesses a good bend of stifle and moves well.

This striking dog was presented in flawless coat and condition. He showed a pleasing amount of bone and muscle, tight feet, and strong hindquarters with substantial stifle bend and well-let-down hocks. He moved gracefully across the ring, maintaining his topline and actively using his tail, and I was delighted to place him first in this strong veteran class.

2nd - LOVEROCK & WALDRON SMITH, Golden Retriever, SH CH THORNYWAIT SPACE COWBOY AT LOVISSA JW

This was a very close decision between the first and second-place dogs. I particularly admired the demeanor of this male; he embodies everything I seek in a 'Golden' Retriever—a balanced and honest dog without any exaggeration. He possesses a distinguished head and expression, complemented by dark eyes, a clean neck and shoulders, a firm topline, and a good tail carriage. His sound construction was evident in his movement, where he strode effortlessly across the ring with excellent reach and drive.

Although standing alone in this class, this dog was worthy of the placement, being presented in a good coat and condition. He possesses a handsome head with dark eyes, a firm topline, and good depth from withers to brisket with ample spring of rib. My only minor critique is a preference for slightly less length to his body. He moved freely and covered the ground effortlessly.

AV Gundog Open - 9,7

1st - HOARE, ESS, CRACKERJANNE CLEO LAINE

A feminine bitch with a powerful and energetic presence, suggesting she could work a full day in the field. She possesses a pretty head with dark, joyful eyes. Her physique is well-balanced, with good body proportions and ample rib spring. She moved with notable purpose around the ring.

2nd - HUTTONS, PICCORINO PORTATORE D’AMORE

This masculine dog, whom I judged in the breed class, possesses good bone and muscle but was slightly overweight and lacked balance. Despite this, he has a handsome head with a lovely expression and moved well.
