Whitstable & District Canine Society

Breed: Spaniel (Cocker)

Thank you to the Whitstable & District Canine Society for the invitation to judge at their Open Show. A huge thank you to all who exhibited under me, it was a pleasure to go over your dogs.

Spaniel (Cocker)

J (7,1) 1 Hutton-Baber’s BABTONKELPIE GALLEY QUEEN, 9-month-old Bitch. A delightful young bitch of excellent proportions, with a merry disposition and tail constantly on the move. Good size, with a pleasing feminine head, correct mouth, and expressive dark eyes. Wide hindquarters with well-developed muscle, providing excellent drive on the move. Moved soundly and with confidence. Coat of good texture and condition. A tough class, but this one had the edge today. BOB & BPIB. Very pleased to see this Bitch go on to take GPG2. 2 Covington’s DELIGHTFUL HUNTER LEGENDARY AT SILVERDUST, 14-month-old Dog. Another quality exhibit with much to admire. Correct size with a classic outline and lovely overall balance. Beautiful head and expression, with well-set ears and a good mouth. Deep through the body and good coat presentation. Tail wagging throughout. Just preferred the rear propulsion of 1st on the day, but it was close. 3 Griffin’s GRIFFIAL BACK TO BLACK

PG (1,0) 1 Griffin’s GRIFFIAL BACK TO BLACK, 11-month-old Bitch. Stood alone but deserved her placing. Balanced outline, slightly taller than long, but within breed expectation. Good temperament and presentation. Wide hindquarters and a correctly set tail. Moved out cleanly, if slightly less drive than ideal. Coat was fair; still developing. Overall, a tidy package.

O (3,0) 1 Hutton-Baber’s ESQUEEN FOLLOWING STAR AT BABTONKELPIE (IMP POL) JW, 4-year-old Bitch. Made a strong impression on entering the ring. Well-proportioned with a lovely head and skull, straight front, and tight feet. Hindquarters were wide and muscular, contributing to excellent movement with reach and drive. Coat in very nice condition. Well handled. RBOB. 2 Warrington’s ZAKOVA SANTANA JW, 2-year-old Dog. Heavier set than first and deep through the chest. Sound hindquarters and good bone. Tail carriage slightly reserved and not as animated as expected. Moved well enough. Coat fair but not at peak today. 3 Griffin’s GRIFFIAL ALL MY LOVING
