Bavarian Mountain Hounds

Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing their lovely hounds. It was a great pleasure to judge them

Puppy (1,0)

1. Miss Hunter - Sika Shadow

Fell for this delightful and cheeky 6-month-old stag red puppy with a black mask. When standing, he is balanced and proportionate, displaying a typical outline. His head is just right for his age, with good width in the back of the skull, length and strength in the foreface, nicely finished flews, and those dark, mischievous eyes. His topline is firm, with the correct rise, and he has a deep brisket, standing on well-boned limbs. He enjoyed himself on the move and showed good drive in the rear. Well done to his handler, a lovely puppy. BP

Open (3,1)

1. Seago & Gibbard - Conwydogs Purple Into Amlida

3-year-old deer red bitch who has so much to admire. She displays herself with confidence and style. When standing, she presents a picture of balance and unexaggerated symmetry. I appreciated her size, substance, and femininity, which contribute to her lovely flowing outline. She has an endearing head and expression, with broad, heavy ears and a gentle dark eye. Well-developed through the body, she has depth to her brisket along with a good topline and underline. She uses her strong, wide quarters to move effortlessly around the ring. BOB

2. Mr Cockett - Hugo Z Kolbachu

Another impressive hound, a handsome 3-year-old dog, stag red with a black mask. Impressed by his strength and lovely muscle tone. He has a masculine head with the correct parallel planes and good width to the back of the skull, along with broad, heavy ears that give him a kind and calm expression. His neck is a good length, and his topline shows a rise to the croup, with the chest reaching down to the elbows. Loved his happy and outgoing nature, although he seemed a bit distracted while moving today. But, he can certainly power around the ring with drive, covering the ground with ease. RBOB
