Breed: Jack Russell Terrier

Many thanks to the exhibitors for turning out in numbers to allow me to go over their lovely dogs. Some super animals and some hard decisions!

Puppy (0)

Special Yearling (5/0) – 1st Roberts’ Navigareamor Storm Isha – w/tan bitch. Typey bitch with lovely head and expression, showing keen expression and good strength of head. Dark, almond shaped eye. Scored highly on her front assembly. Really good shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct body proportions to length of leg. Plenty of substance. Tailset OK. Moved best in class. Spanned well and in good harsh coat. Considered in the challenge.

2nd Broom’s Roxway Ariel – w/tan dog. Good strength of head, neat ears and earset and liked the overall balance and size. In good harsh coat. Not the angulation of 1 and a little wide coming but liked the overall body proportions and head. Good tailset. Spanned well.

Limit (2/0) – 1st Porter-Manning & Porter’s Roxway Sunflower Among Wallaroo – Smart balanced bitch. Strong head with good width and correct proportions. Might prefer slightly better earset but used well. Good angulation in front. Moderate rear angulation. Decent tailset. Moved OK. Spanned well.

2nd Reeve’s Roxway French Connection –Bigger dog than 1and therefore not so good to span. Strong, masculine head with good width of skull and dark eye. Substantial body with plenty of bone. Reasonable lay of shoulder but perhaps a touch out at elbow. Moved OK. Preferred the size and angulation of 1.

Open (2/0) – 1st Broom’s Roxway Sun Dance – Super typey white and tan bitch of good size. Caught my eye immediately for her strong, but feminine typical head with good width and muzzle strength. Dark almond-shaped eye and super keen expression. Huge bone, substantial body. Excellent tailset. Spanned well and in good harsh coat. Could be straighter in front, but her type and balance outweighed that for me and was pleased to award her BOB & Terrier Group 3

2nd Evans’ Kulawand Wicked Whisper At Jackpack . Another quality white and tan bitch that I really liked. Feminine head with lovely earset. Spanned well. Prefer a slightly better tailset. Excels in front and rear angulation with elbows right underneath and this showed in her excellent movement. RBOB
