Midsummer madness indeed - Christmas show on the hottest weekend of the year. Congratulations to all involved in a successful show in a new venue. Over 500 dogs on a busy show weekend shows the popularity of this society.

I had some very competitive stakes classes to judge, followed by the main awards, where I was very happy with the quality the group judges had sent me, thank you.

BIS went to a young French Bulldog, Chelmbull Forget Me Not. She is quite a little charmer. Really well made, correct outline and proportions, and she is such a good mover. On a hot day she just strutted her stuff effortlessly. Must be destined to win many top awards.

Runner up was the N Elkhound, Ch/Am Ch Kamgaard Klementina. Judged this really typy b before when she was BOB under me at Crufts. Her outline is just so correct for the breed. Moderate and perfectly balanced in angulation, meaning she moved with an easy and economical stride. Such a good size.

Best Puppy was the Min Schnauzer, Lumillion Crazy in Love. Super outline with short hard topline. Great expression. Enough neck. Super forechest and big ribs. Body coat texture is excellent.

RBPIS, Pomeramian, Sueacres Catch a Dream. Moves so very well, accurate and co-ordinated. Ideal proportions, short back, super tail. So very self assured. These 2 should easily gain their titles.

Best Veteran was the Cocker, Sh Ch Riondel Candyman JW. Lovely dog, correct ouline and so very solid with big ribs. Super head, with lovely eye and expression. Rock steady in topline and moves so v well with typical Cocker action.

Minor Puppy Stakes

1. Kierpark Its Now or Never Among Silkdance

Really super Whippet puppy. Liked his outline, he is v curvy. Masc in head, correct eye and expresssion. Lengthy neck. He has a well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Correct rear. Accurate mover with low reach. Really promising pup.

2. Otterbobs Duchy

Such a good moving border t. She has a super head. Enough neck. Well made in front. Firm topline. V good rear. Coat coming through.

3. Silgarhi Catch the Wind to Verony. TT

Puppy stakes

This was a very strong class.

L heeler of super proportions and a v good mover. Good head. Uses her ears when she wants. Enough neck. Good front. Firm in topline. V good rear and tail set.

Yearling stakes

1. Teisgol Rose Campion

Very typy pointer. Has a fem head of quality. Lengthy neck into a good shoulder. Chest almost to elbow. Well ribbed back. Curves in right places. Enough hind angulation. V good tail. Moves well.

2. Fosterbrie I Am Mika at Kimarlaz

Solid and robust Briard. Super head. Lengthy necl. Deep and well filled chest. Well sprung ribs. Firm in topline. Strong rear. Super coat. Accurate on move.

Post grad stakes

1. Ring Rider Wrecking Ball for Chinaskys

Reallly striking Xolo. Has a v good head, dark eyes. Enough neck. Well made and balanced front and rear. Deep enough chest. Firm in topline. Super light mover.

2. Cedndaidi Emelia

C crested of excellent proportions.. V well made and so is a good mover. Medium neck. Firm in topline. Balanced angulations.

Open stakes

1. Wynele Double Trouble at Foxearth

Really super smooth collie. Ideal outline and proportions. He has a v good head, well set and used ears. Long neck into well laid shoulder. Well bodied. Holds topline so v well. In super muscle. Powerful on move. Really handled to get the best from him.

2. Teisgol Snow Queen JW

Super type pointer. She has a fem head. Crested neck. Her angulation is moderate and v well balanced. Curvy outline. So v typical moving.

3. Ch Tokaji Moon over Miami with Mutoko, Basenji

1. Sh Ch Eald Village Gossip

Lovely Sussex of excellent type and moved v well. Super coat colour and texture. Has a good head with super expression. Correct length neck. Well bodied. Big feet.

2. Bowerhinton Bombette

Elkhound of v good proportions and an easy mover. Liked her head with a lovely eye and expression. So v well made and so moved well, easy stride.

3. Sh Ch Highclare Only One avec Tailliside
