Thank you to the association for inviting me to judge. The show was well run and had a lovely atmosphere with a very welcoming committee. Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing your dogs and to the stewards for keeping the ring organised and flowing.

Affenpinscher:

1st – Shennan’s – Ashiblack King of Swing

Cobby male of 18 months. Good shape to skull with glistening dark round eyes, short muzzle with large open nostrils. Slightly undershot as required for this breed. Short neck, level top-line and high set tail held correctly as a gentle curve. Good depth and breadth to chest and has a short loin. Round and compact feet. Hind quarters set well under the body. Coat in good condition with harsh texture, and no grey shading. Moved well and parallel with strutting movement. BOB and TG4

1st – Toohey’s – Dinahtron Bear With Me

20 months old male. Masculine throughout with plenty of substance. Another with good skull, high set ears and dark eyes. Short in muzzle with wide nostrils and slightly undershot. Chin turned up. Giving desired monkey like expression. Short neck, level back with tail set just off slightly falling croup. Very mild tuck up and hindquarters set well under the body. Harsh texture to coat. Moved well today and parallel.

2nd – Toohey’s – Dinahtron The Rock

2 year old male. He has high set ears and a fairly small skull. Eyes dark and glistening. Muzzle short. Would prefer slightly shorter neck, but has a level back and tail set just off falling croup, held correctly as a curve. Slight tuck up as standard requires. He moved well today but would prefer more substance throughout.

1st – Steele’s – Threadgold Yashashree

8 months old bitch puppy. She has a broad skull which is slightly rounded with high set ears. She has dark eyes with the required small amount of white to inner corners giving the desired astonishment. Accompanied with a short wide muzzle, and enough cushioning. Black nose with open nostrils. Good amount of neck, level back and high tail set, curved over the back with plenty of feathering. Good lay of shoulder and angulations to hindquarters. Just needs time to mature. Coat still coming in but has a soft silky texture. Typical playful puppy, very lively and when concentrating moved well with straight movement with reach and drive. BOB BPIB

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel:

1st – Leaver & Gresty – Korraines Ffion at Ravaelann

6 months old, well broken blenheim bitch puppy. Almost flat skull with high set ears. Good length to muzzle with correct scissor bite. Large dark round eyes. Good length of neck with proud head carriage. Good lay of shoulder and spring of rib coming in. Level top-line and good angulations to hind quarters. Tail held happily on the move. Confident puppy who moved well today and parallel. BPIB TPG3

2nd – Jones – Teddy Reddy Go

10 months old male puppy. He has high set ears, scissor bite, dark eyes and black nose. Not as confident as 1st on the table or ground making it difficult to assess. Needs time to gain confidence.

1st – Taylors – Luvtayl’s Million Dreams

15 months old masculine male. Lovely shape to skull with high set ears with fringing. He has captivating large dark round eyes which really express the required soft and gentle expression. Solid black nose. Good length of muzzle and scissor bite. He has a moderate amount of neck and well laid shoulders. This is accompanied with his level top-line and tail set as a continuation of his top-line. Good turn of stifle to hindquarters. Straight when viewed from in front and behind. Moved foot perfect today with reach and drive, tail held correctly. Well broken coat of silky texture. BOB

Postgraduate D/B (5,2)

1st – Taylors – Luvtayl’s Fireflash Rose

3 year old Blenheim bitch with correct skull, high set ears with feathering and large dark round eyes and the deepest pigment to nose. Good length of muzzle with scissor bite. Good amount of neck and well laid shoulder. Level topline held on the stand and move. Would prefer shorter in loin. Good spring of rib. Won this class on the move with reach and drive, positive flowing action. Good amount of coat with silky texture.

2nd – Williams & Nolan’s – Castlewytch Nevada Gunclub

3 year old well broken blenheim male in good silky coat. Almost flat skull with high set ears with plenty of feathering. Shallow stop with good length of muzzle, scissor bite and black nose. Dark round eyes. Good length to neck to allow for proud head carriage. Good spring of rib, level back and held tail well. Good angulations to forequarters and hindquarters. Moved well today just unfortunate to meet 1st.

3rd - Leaver & Gresty – Ravaelann Rock Road

Open D/B (5,2)

1st – Taylors – Luvtayl’s Reach Out In Faith

5 year old heavily marked tri bitch and dam to BOB. Very feminine, correct shape of skull with high set ears framing the head. Large dark eyes, shallow stop with enough length of muzzle and correct scissor bite. Would prefer more neck but has a well laid shoulder and good spring of rib. Short in loin and a nice overall shape but could do with a tad less weight. Level top-line leading to well set on tail which was held correctly on the move. On the move she was parallel to and fro with positive flowing action.

2nd – Taylors – Revdvicki Heavenly Chance Loranka

4 year old tri male who is lighter in frame than 1st. Evenly marked face markings with high set ears with plenty of feather. Large dark round eyes. Shallow stop and good length of muzzle. Correct scissor bite. Good amount of neck and well laid shoulder but would prefer a bit more substance. Level back and held tail correctly. The best mover in the class with reach and drive but preferred the breed type of 1st.

3rd – Carr- Tomlinson’s – Loranka’s Bryn Terfel at Gerallyn

1st – Sparrow & Moores – Chibaya Catch My Vibe With Casarow

12 months old bitch.... the first thing on my notes say ‘quality’. Lively and extrovert in character. She has a small slightly flat skull with small high set ears . Correct amount of muzzle with scissor bite and black nose. Dark eyes slightly oval of medium size, bright and expressing such expression. Short neck and well laid shoulder. Short coupled with level back and high tail set. Tail carried over the back on the stand and on the move. Correct angulations to stifle and of fine bone. Small compact cat like feet. Good coat condition and texture. Brisk in movement and parallel. A real eye catcher and champion quality.

2nd- Petelska’s – Brusavenberg Cappuccina

8 months old bitch puppy. Larger in frame than 1st. correct shaped skull with high set erect ears. Good amount of muzzle without lippiness, bite ok. Dark rounder eyes and deep black nose. Short neck, level back and high tail set. Good angulations to forequarters and hindquarters. In good coat for age of correct texture. Active in movement and parallel. BPIB

I also wrote at the top of my notes for this class... ‘quality’ and ‘wow’. He is a finished product and screams breed type. Lovely shape to skull, high set erect ears and slightly oval dark round eyes with black eye rims. Good length of muzzle, black nose and scissor bite. Foxy in outline as breed standard requires. Short neck, well laid shoulder, short coupled and level top-line. High set tail held over the back with spreading hair. Good angulations to hind quarters. Excellent coat of correct texture. On the move he was foot perfect and free moving. A real showman and at one with handler. BOB TG3

1st- Blakeway’s – Bellablake The Dixie Chick

8 months old feminine bitch puppy. Her head is of good size with desired width throughout. Ears set correctly and framing the face. Her eyes are large, dark and round showing of her expression. Wrinkle bridging from nose to cheeks without affecting eyes or nose. Short muzzle with black nose and open nostrils. Short neck with well laid shoulder. Tight elbows with slightly bowed forelegs and correct pear shape. Good width to chest. Tail set and carried high. In good coat for age. Moved well today. BPIB TPG4

1st – Clifton’s – Yakee King Of The Kop

19 months masculine male with good amount of double coat with correct textures. Large skull which is broad throughout with correctly set ears with fringing framing the head. Large dark round eyes and glistening. Short muzzle with defined stop and black nose with large open nostrils. Correct wrinkle not obscuring the eyes or nose. Neck is short, with well laid shoulder and slight bow from elbow to pastern. Correct pear shaped body with level back and high tail set. Typical rolling gait on the move.

2nd – Marina’s – Marinbox Murder By The Book

4 year old feminine bitch of smaller frame than 1st. This bitch is in no way overdone with the correct amount of coat of good texture. Her eyes are large and clear, expressing intelligence. Overall head proportions are pleasing for her size. Her body has the desired pear shape, with well sprung rib, level top line and high tail set. A little fast on the move today.

1st – Blakeway – Klerkshof English Crown at Bellablake JW

2.5 year old, masculine male and a finished product. His head is large and broad throughout. His ears are set level with the skull. The leathers are small with plenty of fringing to frame the head. He has large dark round eyes showing off his expression. Correct wrinkle without obscuring the eyes or nose.His nose is black and has wide open nostrils. Defined under jaw. Short neck, with desired tight elbows and slightly bowed forelegs and slightly turned out feet. He has good width to his chest. Good spring of rib and correct pear shape. Level top line and high tail set carried over the back. Good heavy bone to forequarters and lighter in frame to hind quarters. This boy moved with typical slow rolling gait. Heavy to pick up. Double coat of correct texture. Shown in immaculate condition. BOB TG2

2nd – Marina’s – Marinbox Murder On The Nile

4 year old male who is smaller in frame than 1st. He has lovely large dark round eyes, short muzzle and wide open nostrils. Short neck with level top line and high tail set. Well coated of correct length and texture. Good pear shape to body. Moved well today. Just preferred type of 1st.
