I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge. It
is always a great honour and privilege to be asked. I would also like to thank the
exhibitors for their kindness, sportsmanship and understanding on the day. We are
all part of the same hobby, united by a shared interest, a love of pedigree dogs.
Any Variety Gundog – Veteran (10 Years +)
A heartening class of veterans, all a credit to their owners, showing excellent
condition for age.
1st Napier’s Josalyn Manolito In Seasmoke
A worthy winner – Spanish Water Dog, presented in outstanding condition for a 13
year old veteran. Retains excellent breed type, with a balanced outline and good
bone. Still moved soundly and with enthusiasm, showing free, easy action. A
pleasure to see such a fit and happy veteran enjoying his day. I believe he went on
to take BVIS. 2nd Oliver’s Asterope Lightening Star Via Teisgol JW ShCM
Another quality veteran, B&W Pointer. Good head properties, dark eye and gentle
expression, desired dished appearance. Pleasing in forehand, straight front, slope to
pasterns, standing on correct feet. Moved steadily and true lashing her tail, not
showing her years one bit. Really unlucky to meet 1 st today.
Any Variety Gundog – Open Bitch
1st Oakmarsh Laurel JW
A very smart and well-balanced bitch, standing over plenty of ground. Pleasing head
and expression, good reach of neck and firm topline. Excellent movement, both
coming and going, with good drive and extension. Presented in excellent condition,
waterproof dense coat and handled to advantage. CBR.2nd Fraulynzway Hayley’s
Comet A quality bitch with a lot to like, well balanced broad skull, medium almond
eye, pleasing expression, deep well sprung chest, straight front, standing on good
feet. driving well from rear. German Shorthaired Pointer.

Hungarian Vizsla
Today I was not the scheduled judge, but I was happy to step in and judge a breed I
have admired for a long time.
Special Yearling (5,3)
1st – Parker, Harrison, Harrison’s Glenbrows Scarlet
An attractive young bitch of very good type, showing a balanced outline and pleasing
proportions. Feminine head with kind expression. Good length of neck flowing into
well laid shoulders, with a firm topline held on the move. Moved freely and positively,
showing good reach and drive. Presented in excellent condition and handled well. A
promising youngster who went on to secure Best Puppy. 2nd – Dallis’ Ivyvizbridge
Gertor. A nicely made youngster with good substance and bone. Pleasing head
properties and overall balance. Moved soundly, though not quite the drive or
presence of the winner on the day.
Post Graduate (3,1)
1st – Challis’ Vizslanya Praxis JW
A quality exhibit with good breed type throughout. Well balanced with a pleasing
head and expression. Correct construction and sound movement, showing good
drive from the rear. Presented in excellent coat and condition and shown to
advantage. 2nd Dallas’ – Vizslanya Pelion Another sound and honest dog, of good
size and substance. Moved steadily.
Open (5,1)
1st – Challis’ Vizslanya Vizi JW
A very pleasing girl of excellent breed type and balance. Strong yet elegant, with a
well-shaped head and soft expression. Good reach of neck, well angulated
shoulders and hindquarters, and a firm topline. Moved with purpose and drive,
covering the ground well. Presented in excellent condition. BOB. 2nd – Parker &
Gist’s Glenbrows Rouge JW Another quality exhibit with much to admire. These two
could have changed places on another day. Well-constructed with good proportions
and sound movement. Just not quite the presence and overall finish of the winner
today. Awarded RBOB

1 st Wareham’s Suelynda Dream on
A quality exhibit showing good breed type throughout. Strong yet balanced, with
correct substance and bone without coarseness. Typical head with kind expression,
good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, and a well-ribbed body with a
firm topline held on the move. Moved steadily and true with good reach and drive.
Presented in excellent condition and temperament. Although stood alone a most
worthy winner. BOB
English Setter
Special Yearling (1)
1st – Bayliss’ Dyrham Girl on Fire
A promising young bitch, well balanced for age with a pleasing outline. Head needs
some maturing but this will come with time, soft expression. Shown in good condition
and moved soundly. One to watch as she matures.
Post Graduate (3,1)
1st – Sykes’ Sharnyx Springtime at Daraquist
Stood out for overall balance and breed type. Presents a pleasing outline with good
proportions and a firm topline. Moved freely with good reach and drive, maintaining
her shape on the move. RBOB 2nd – Rainey’s Culverwell Touch of Fortune at
Wolmersdon A sound and honest exhibit with good construction. Balanced outline
and steady movement though just lacked the presence and finish of the winner on
the day.

1st – Osman’s Bournehouse Sirocco Over Marissolo JW
An eye-catching exhibit of excellent breed type. Well balanced with a pleasing head
and expression. Clean neck into well-laid shoulders, firm topline, and well-angulated
quarters. Moved with purpose and ease, showing good reach and drive. Best of
Breed and BIS4 2nd – Bishop’s Sh Ch Dyrham Desert Storm
Quality exhibit with many virtues. Strongly made without coarseness, pleasing head
and expression. Stands over his ground with a noble presence, though on the day
just not as purposeful in movement.
Irish Red and White Setter
Graduate (1)
Hart’s Gillegrae So Berry Excited.
1 st Promising Irish Red and White Setter puppy of excellent breed type. Balanced,
well put together, with a pleasing head and correct expression. Sound on the move
in places but he was having the best day out with his handler. Shown confidently and
presented well. Best of Breed and Best Puppy.

Gordon Setter
Graduate
1 st Smith’s Kewstoke Sea Queen Zena. Quality bitch showing strength without
lacking femineity. Attractive head with correct planes and dark eye. Good length of
neck and well-developed forequarters. Body well ribbed with strong loin.
Hindquarters powerful and well angulated. Moved freely and efficiently, holding
shape on the move.

1 st Henderson’s When I was your Man Black Lofty ShCEx (Imp POL) A masculine
head complimented, well-arched neck flowing into a firm, level topline and correct tail
set. Good depth of brisket and excellent width of well-muscled thigh, allowing him to
move freely with strong drive. BOB 2 nd Osborn’s Amscot Air of Success at Boyers. So
much to like about this young lady. Very feminine with a beautiful expression, shown
in fit, hard condition with excellent muscle tone. Correct angulation fore and aft, with
well-padded feet of good shape. Lovely tail carried and used enthusiastically. Did not
quite move with the freedom or drive of the first today. RBOB.
