I thoroughly enjoyed my day at this fun, well organised show and thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge for them. Thank you also to the exhibitors for a super entry and to those who accepted me as a replacement judge for the Utility Group, several breeds and the champion stakes.  


AV Utility Veteran (17,7) A super start to the day with a quality filled veteran class. 


1. Sensation vom Tespelkooi of Valleyrise VW (Imp Deu), Breed: Kooikerhondje (Miss C Johnson) 10 year old bitch in such super condition, so attentive to her handler and always standing to an advantage showing off her well balanced outline. Pretty head of good proportions with good filling under dark eyes, correctly set and carried ears with good furnishings. Her super construction was put to use on the move circling the ring with plenty of reach and drive holding her outline firm, accurate out and back, presented in quality coat. Best Utility Veteran. 


2. Quidditch A Touch of Sass, Breed: Tibetan Terrier (Ms E Hadlow) 8 yr old bitch again presented in immaculate condition and a credit to her owner. Squarely built and sturdy with firm topline and balanced angulation. Lovely head and typical resolute expression, strong jaw and dark eyes. Moved soundly and accurately. 


3. Ch Schipdale A Kind of Magic ShCEx, Breed: Schipperke (Mr A J & Mrs L A Cheatham)

Junior (4,2) 


1. Yulyeong On to A Winner, Breed: Korean Jindo (Miss R Cunningham) Very impressive 7 month old dog, such a showman and particularly impressive on the move covering the ground with a purposeful gait, outline firm, accurate in all directions. Strong neck into good shoulders, straight front, good chest and ribbing for age, firm topline and moderately angulated rear. Handsome head with keen expression, small dark eyes and well set and used ears. An accomplished showman for one so young, Best Imp Reg Utility & BP, Puppy Group 3 and later won Best Imp Reg In Show, well done! 


2. Yulyeong Special Edition, Breed: Korean Jindo (Miss R Cunningham) Another nice baby but not quite as forward in development as her brother and not as together on the move. Appealing head of good balance with alert expression and nice eyes. Pleasing outline and sound conformation, just needs time to mature all through. Moved freely.Reserve Best Imp Reg Utility.

1. Kendarctic Hokus Pokus for Shyllar (Mr C & Mrs J Nicholls). 14 month bitch with pleasing head and expression, nice eyes and strong muzzle. A little long in neck, good front and rear angulation, well sprung ribs, strong loin, level topline and high set tail. Moved freely, good out and back. BOB.

1. Red Dils Million Reasons (Imp Cro) (Mr Carl & Mrs Julie & Mr Rohan & Mrs Vikki Nicholls & Nicholls & Oorloff & Oorloff) Very masculine dog with a rather strong head. Moderate front and rear angulation, plenty of substance and good bone. Moved Ok. RBOB.

Post Graduate (1) 


1. Ferrybelle’s Take It Easy (Mrs S & Miss J Ferry) 3yr bitch of pleasing balance with well sprung ribs and moderate angulation. Wedge shaped head with good pigment, dark eyes, high set ears and well finished muzzle. Moved happily but not quite the smooth, brisk action of her kennel mate. RBOB

1. Silberstras Elischeba Tula for Ferrybelle (Imp Nor) (Mrs S & Miss J Ferry) 17 months old and presented in profuse white coat with typical outline, strong neck, well developed body for age, good front and rear angulation and well set and carried tail. Pretty head of correct proportions with neat, high set ears, dark oval eyes and alert expression. Moved with a light, brisk action. BOB.

Junior (1) 


1. Ollarena Saffi Ari (Mrs I Holyland) Small and elegant with good length of leg and fine bone. Sweet face with large ears, defined stop and pointed muzzle. Still rather raw but has plenty of time on her side. Moved briskly, a little untidy coming towards. RBOB. 


Post Graduate (1) 


1. Ollarena Classic Red (Mrs I Holyland) 17 month dog who could carry a little more weight. Squarely built with fine bone, moderate angulation good topline and tail carriage. Nice head and expression with good pigment and dark round eyes. Moved ok, could be better coming towards.  


Open (1) 


1. Ollarena Wizadora (Mrs I Holyland) 3yr bitch who made a very good account of herself outmoving her kennel mates to take bob, accurate out and back and holding her outline firm in profile. Small and elegant with fine bone, good topline and underline, balanced angulation and well set and carried tail. Pretty head with beautifully furnished ears, large rounded eyes, defined stop, short pointed muzzle and tight lips. BOB.

Puppy (1) 


1. Kiromol Ain't Misbehavin (ai) (Mr P, Mrs E & Mrs L Storey & Piehl) Just 6 months old and such a delightful baby. Lovely balance to her pretty head with bright round eyes, strong muzzle, high set ears and intelligent expression. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front with good bone and feet, firm topline, strong loin and well angulated rear. Moved with a lovely length of stride, covering the ground with ease. BP 


Post Graduate (5,2) 


1. Nuthouse Going for Gold JW (Mr J & Mrs S Hicks). Quality bitch who’s free, active gait appealed greatly, holding her outline firm and covering the ground with accuracy and ease. Feminine head of good proportions with strong jaw, nice eyes and well set and carried ears. Nicely balanced outline with good reach of neck, sound front and rear assembly, good chest and ribbing, strong loin, good bone and feet. BOB. 


2. Kiromol Knight of The Realm JW (Mr A P & Mrs S A Geeves) Strong, masculine dog with handsome head and alert expression. Soundly constructed, heavy bone and firm topline. Moved well but not as good out and back as 1.

1. Priorpark Problem Solved (Mrs K & Mr G & Miss H Dawson & Dawson & Parsons) 3yr dog of pleasing balance with good bone and substance, firm topline, strong loin and well angulated rear. Clean head with bright round eyes, strong muzzle and jaw. Was the best out and back here and had a very positive action in profile. RBOB. 


2. Kiromol Dare to Flair (Mr P, Mrs E & Mrs L Storey & Piehl) Well made, feminine bitch with lovely angulation fore and aft, straight front and good chest and ribbing. Correctly shaped head with high set ears, defined stop and good muzzle. Moved freely.

1. Black Matrix Di Poggio Petroio to Sealandair (Imp Ita) (Miss L Wright) 10 month b/t of a nice size with strong neck, level topline, well set and carried tail and balanced front and rear angulation. Correctly shaped head, flat skull with definite stop and tapered muzzle. Moved well once he settled, presented in good coat. BOB, BP. 


2. Jaidev's Fifth Avenue via Cravessa (Mrs V Searles) Another 10 month old but not quite as together as 1. Pleasing outline and nice head properties, neat ears, dark eyes and good pigment. Moved ok but needs to firm behind.

1. Black Matrix Di Poggio Petroio to Sealandair (Imp Ita) (Miss L Wright) 


2. Chikamichi Go from Hachimantai to Sealandair (Imp Mne) (Miss L Wright) Masculine dog who I wouldn’t want any bigger but presents a pleasing outline with good chest and ribbing, firm topline, straight front and good feet. Not the head qualities of his kennel mate. Moved Ok.

Puppy (3,2)  


1. Mellhawk Azizam (M Hawkins) 8 month baby with appealing head and expression, good muzzle and mouth, lovely dark eyes, well set ears and distinct stop. Strong neck into sloping topline, obviously still needs to develop in chest and ribbing but is typical for age, good bone and feet and well constructed rear. Moved well, just needs to firm up as he matures. BP 


Junior (2,1) 


1. Hipkins Charismatic (Mrs V A & Mr B Wheeler). 13month bitch, squarely built and nicely balanced with good neck and topline, well set and carried tail, good chest and ribbing for age. Feminine head of good proportions, lovely dark eyes, defined stop, strong muzzle with good underjaw. Moved accurately out and back and covering the ground well in profile.  


Post Graduate (3,1) 


1. Mellhawk Jiggerlicious (M Hawkins). 18month bitch who I judged as a puppy and is nice to see how she’s maturing. Still pleased for balance and type with beautiful head and expression, nice eyes, defined stop, deep, wide muzzle with good jaw, wide nostrils and dense pigment. Strong, arched neck into good front assembly, straight front, good depth of chest and spring of rib, sloping topline and well angulated rear. Moved well with a free, accurate gait, covering the ground well and holding her outline firm. BOB. 


2. Diceulon Top Hat and Tails at Merquin (ai) (Mr M J & Mrs J R Merritt) 2 yr dog, masculine and square in outline, could have more angulation fore and aft, good depth of chest and spring of rib, sloping topline with well set tail. Pleasing head with dark eyes, good mouth, broad muzzle and decent underjaw. Moved soundly but could have more reach and drive. 


Open (2,1) 


1. Milion Diddles from Newlaithe (Mrs L Tyler) 7yr veteran bitch with lovely front and rear angulation, square in outline with firm topline, strong bone and well muscled rear. Pleasing head and alert expression with well set ears, dark eyes, good width and depth of muzzle with strong jaw and well padded lips. Moved with an effortless gait, good out and back and covering the ground well in profile. RBOB. 


Shetland Sheepdog 


Puppy (2) 


1. Valdosta Je Amour (Miss A Mitchell) 9month dog presented in beautiful coat and condition. Masculine head of good length with correctly shaped dark eyes, good ears and nicely finished muzzle. Ample reach of neck into good shoulders, correct topline, well angulated rear, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved with an easy action holding his outline firm. BP, RBOB and he later topped the Pastoral puppy group, well done. 


2. Lavika Man in Black (Miss K Robinson) Really lovely puppy of obvious quality who just wasn’t very settled so didn’t make the most of himself but at just 6 months I’m sure he will gain confidence with a little more experience. Lovely balance to his shape and such a sweet face with lovely eyes and expression. Beautifully presented and sympathetically handled. 


Junior (7,3)  


1. Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC) (Miss M D Jackson) Really lovely 12 month bitch, ultra feminine with a beautiful head and expression, high set ears, lovely eyes and well finished foreface. Soundly constructed with good front and rear angulation, firm topline, well set and carried tail, strong bone and good feet. Beautifully presented coat completes the picture. Moved with such a positive, light, accurate gait holding her outline firm as she circled the ring. BOB. 


2. Evad Halloween Tzar (Mrs D K Weller) 13 month dog with plenty to like, just couldn’t quite match the front of 1. Lovely handsome head of good length with dark eyes and intelligent expression. Good reach of neck, deep chest, straight front with good bone and feet, correct topline, tailset and carriage. Lovely attitude, always standing to an advantage, moving freely. 


3. Savendie Meleys (Miss L Mettan-Ure)

1. Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC) (Miss M D Jackson) see jun. 


2. Savendie Fortune Cookie for Shemella (Mr I J & Mrs M J Lewis) Nicely balanced bitch a touch smaller than 1, so attentive and very pretty. Feminine head of good length with neat, high set ears, dark eyes, dense pigment and nicely finished foreface. Lovely construction throughout which is reflected in her super movement. Even though she is a little older she didn’t quite have the finish of 1 and I slightly preferred the outline of the winner but it was close. 


3. Evad Halloween Tzar (Mrs D K Weller) 


Open (5,3) 


1. Evad Lite Breeze (Miss S L Clough) 5 yr dog in quality coat with decent front and rear assembly, a little short in neck for balance. Sweet face of good proportions with dense pigment, high set ears and alert expression. Moved very well out and back and freely in profile. 


2. Oakcrofts Venturer avec Savendie (Miss L Mettan-Ure) Very attentive to to his handler but a little unsettled on the move. Soundly constructed with good substance and bone, carrying a good coat. Masculine head with pleasing expression.  


Champion Stakes (37,22) Super class of Champions. 


1. Ch Zefather’s Ralph Lauren JW ShCEx OSW, Breed: Great Dane (Miss J Cranfield) A beautiful dog who has impressed me before and I couldn’t find anything to beat him again! Masculine head with beautiful expression, good reach of neck, firm topline, well angulated fore and aft, strong bone and presented in fabulous condition. Superb on the move covering the ground with ease and style maintaining his outline at all times. 


2. Ch Nelgus Thyme Bomb JW ShCEx, Breed: Basset Hound (Mrs C Allchorne) 9yr old dog who looks fabulous for his age. So sound and free on the move, balanced in outline and such a beautiful head and expression. A real credit to his owner. 


3. Ch Nativespirit's Legacy, Breed: Siberian Husky (Mr M & Miss K Pointer & Cruttenden) 


Group 1 Ch Kitsune The Lioness at Izlou (ai), Breed: German Spitz (Mittel) (Ms L & Miss I Barnes & King) I thought this bitch was a standout winner in this group, full of quality, beautifully presented and so impressive on the move.  


Group 2 Risepark Style Setter, Breed: Miniature Schnauzer (Miss T & Miss L & Mr J Saunders & Parker & McDonald) A lovely bitch who was expertly handled to really get the best out of her. Smart outline and well balanced head with super expression. Moved accurately. 


Group 3 Twybrook Barenhauter, Breed: Kooikerhondje (Mr I & Mrs C Davies) 2 yr dog who’s super movement won him this place, active and purposeful with firm outline. Handsome head with intelligent expression. 


Group 4 Demorace Belle Starr at Simberfour, Breed: Boston Terrier (Mr S & Miss M Gill & Hamlin) Almost a year old and making a very good account of herself to take a spot in the adult group. Neat outline which she holds on the move, sweet face with nice eyes and expression. Moving very smartly. She topped the puppy group and ended the day RBPIS, well done.

Group 1 Demorace Belle Starr at Simberfour, Breed: Boston Terrier (Mr S & Miss M Gill & Hamlin) 


Group 2 Miracey Miss Holly Berry, Breed: Shih Tzu (Ms J M Beer) 11 month old who was close up to 1. Typical outline with ample reach of neck and well set and carried tail. Such a cheeky expression and in beautifully presented coat. 


Group 3 Yulyeong On to A Winner, Breed: Korean Jindo (Miss R Cunningham) See imp reg. 


Group 4 Izlou Rock Ya Heart Out, Breed: German Spitz (Mittel) (Mr M & Miss K Pointer & Cruttenden) Daughter of the group winner and she really is very similar. Only 8months old so has some maturing to do but she certainly has all the essentials to finish very nicely.
