Northern Counties American Cocker Spaniel Club

Sunday 23rd November 2025

It was truly and honour and a privilege to be invited to judge the NCACSC open show and I send my thanks to the officers and committee. To my steward Jane thank you for your help and of course to the exhibitors, thank you for the opportunity to judge your lovely dogs today and for taking my decisions so sportingly. There was plenty of clapping going on around the ring.

The show was held at an indoor venue that was very well equipped for the event. I do just wonder if the floor affected some exhibits on the move.

Puppy Dog 1

1st Jennings & Bedding Alibama That’s My Boy

This is a charming buff puppy that has everything in the right place for his age. Head is balanced and masculine; his eyes are dark, round and well chiselled below. He has a good stop creating well defined brows, with rounded skull. Neck is of good length and flows into is slightly sloping topline which he held on the move. He has good forechest for his age, and depth through body, well angled front and rear, with good bend to stifle His movement was actuate both coming and going and he moved out with positive strides, I just wished he wasn’t so proud of his tail. Delighted to award him RBIS & BPIS.

Limit Dog 2 (1)

1st Nissen Little Life Zimply Champagne (Imp Fin)

2 years buff, head is masculine, with dark eye of good shape. He lacks chiselling and that makes him look a little lean below the eye. He has a decent length of neck, strong level topline, well bodied and deep, he’s a little long in the loin, has decent angles front and rear with good bone. He was a little stilted today on the move, but he was very well presented.

Open Dog 2 (1)

1st Dummett & Vikhrova Noca Story Boogie Woogie JW (Imp Mne)

Handsome tri of 2 years. Makes a lovely shape on the stack and is well balanced. His head is masculine and balanced with plenty of work in it. Eyes of correct shape and colour giving him an endearing expression. Muzzle has good width and depth, correct stop and well rounded skull. His strong neck is of good length, leading into his gently sloping topline. He is well bodied with ample forechest, and good depth with well sprung ribs. His rear quarters are well muscled and he used them well on the move, and this dog can move. He covers the ground so well, and you can see the happiness in every stride from his correctly placed slashing tail to his lovely smile as he come towards you. He has super reach and drive, he is the epitome of merriment. Happy to award him BD and BIS.

Minor Puppy Bitch 2

1st Jennings Alibama Gossip Girl

This charming 8 months black bitch is feminine all through. She has a pretty head that is balanced but is still developing. She is compact and is just right for her age. She has enough body and good bone. She strides out on the move with good reach. She just needs to strengthen up at the back a little. RBPIS

2nd Madigan Tricajon Coco Mademoiselle

Lovely 7 months chocolate tri. Head is developing nicely, I would have liked her eye to be a shade darker, but this will come as she matures. She is balanced with enough body for her age, she is a good size and she holds her shape well. She’s well angled with good bend of stifle. She is immaculately turned out and she moved well in all directions.

Junior Bitch 2

1st Dring You’re my Dream Smeline Svaja (imp Ltu)

Pretty tri bitch of 15 months, who I have judge as before as a puppy. Head is balanced, she has good eye shape and colour, I would like a little more plushness to muzzle, she has good length of neck into a strong level topline, she is deep though the chest and strong though the loins. Her legs are well boned but I would just like a little more length of leg to balance. She comes into her own on the move, as she flows around the ring with good reach and drive, and this won her the class.

2nd Clay Amerclass Dita Von Parti

13 month B&W feminine head well rounded skull, good eye shape and colour. She has a neck of good length, level topline on the stack, but she had a tendency to roach on the move. She has decent depth of chest, but I would have liked her to be a little shorter in length. She’s well boned with good turn of stifle. She moved ok but was a little close at the back. Well presented.

Post Graduate Bitch 1

Beet Jenrene’s Hot Chocolate at Cutiepooch JW

Pretty chocolate bitch of 3 years, head is balanced with a kind expression. She has a decent shape on the stack, but I would like just a bit more of her all through. She has enough neck, level topline which she held on the move, she has decent bone. She moved ok, but was lacking front extension in profile.

Limit Bitch 1

1st Clay Cutiepooch Born to Tri Americlass

Feminine tri of almost 3 years, she has a pretty head with kind expressive eyes. She is compact and holds a good shape with correct body proportions, she has good depth and ribs, slightly sloping topline and decent angles both ends. I felt she was just lacking some positivity on the move although she was true both coming and going, she moved out better in the challenge to take RBB.

Open Bitch 3 (1)

Two different types here today.

1st Sunter &Pinchen Kenoula No Regrets

Ultra feminine black of just 17 months. She has such a pretty head that is balanced with work in it, her eyes are dark and expressive. Her slightly arched neck is of good length, she has a slightly sloping topline that she held on the stack and on the more. She has decent body proportions, to be picky I would like a little more of her, but she is young and maturity will finish her off. She moves out really well with good reach and carries her tail correctly, so that along with her merry disposition, won her the class and BB today.

2nd Murry & Betts Sanelle Picholine

Mature B&T bitch of 3 years, there is no doubt that there is more of her than 1. For me I found her head to be a little strong, that said it is balanced, she has strength though body and has ample bone, she is deep through chest and strong in the loins. Rear quarters are muscular and she has a well bent stifle, her movement was true both coming and going but she just lacked the enthusiasm of 1 today.

Mrs Janice Lee (nee Caine) Memorial Open Stakes.7 (1a 2 w/d)

1st Sunter &Pinchen Kenoula No Regrets

2nd Dummett Letjashaja Ptitsa Saint Pierre at Almondsbury (Imp Rus)

Mature tri male of 6 ½ years, masculine all though, with good head and eye, lovely muscular neck, ample forechest, slightly sloping topline and depth through body. Well angled both ends with good muscle and well bent stifle. Makes a good shape on the stack and is compact. Moves out well in all directions.
