Many thanks to the Society for the invitation to judge it was a very well-run show and thank you to my very efficient Steward Pauline for the day.

 

Irish Setters


Junior (1)


1, Gill’s Cararua Pear of Fortune

Elegant and Racey youngster with a refined head and expressive eyes well balanced with good angulation front a rear allowing for a smooth ground covering movement, well-presented coat of correct texture showed with confidence.



Post Graduate (2)


1, Corless’s Swiftlark Invincible JW

Appeals for his overall elegance and type, good head of correct balance nice expression clean neck and front well sprung ribs with typical topline, excellent stifles true on the move in good condition.


2, Sheldon’s Bardonhill That’s About Right at Delsanto

Unlucky to run into 1 today as this is another quality dog, good head with lovely expression, strong neck into a good lay of shoulders, correct upper arm angulation and a nicely defined forecast, strong ribcage with plenty of heart room- not the drive as 1.

Liked this boy, lovely head and eye well off for bone and substance throughout, correct lay of shoulder good in upper arm, great depth and spring of rib good over the croup wide strong quarters which he used to his advantage on the move where he went true and steady. BOB

 Liked his proportions all through presented a pleasing picture correct head with well set ears and strong muzzle good bone and feet liked his length of leg and firm topline, good bend of stifle moved out well covering the ground at ease. BOB

Three promising 14-month-old siblings I’m sure they will swap places as they mature.


1, Pierce’s Wynchwizard Forester at Tarnmillcrag

 

A happy chap with nicely moulded head good length of neck, good for chest and return of upper arm, he is deep in rib with good spring, he has a good topline and well set tail, on the move he went with a purpose on a good stride, showed and handled really well for BOB over the open winner who is his mother, should have a promising future.

 

2, Leavy’s Wynchwizard Painted Lady

 

Sister to 1 feminine and medium size, well moulded head with dark eyes, neck well set, deep chest, lovely pleasing head, nice length of body to her lovely round well arched feet, unlucky to meet her brother on the day.

Very well balanced 14-month-old bitch, who has the most appealing head and expression, good flow to neck into well placed shoulders and level topline and tail set, moved showed and handled well.

2, Etherington’s Elkarima’s Golden Renaissance Raffielo of Gemasu

 

18-Month-old boy presented well, good head and eye, deep chest and spring of rib, well bodied with correct topline, went well just needs time.

1, Falconers Cheek to Cheek Unbridled Dreams for Siatham (IMP FRA) JW

 

This young bitch is so balanced from her head to her tail with a sweet feminine head with dark eye with melting expression, lovely reach of neck onto excellent shoulders and front angulation, kept a level topline on the move, well-muscled rear angulation, move so soundly. Pushed hard for G1 but I’m sure when time is on her side she will have a promising future ahead of her. BOB & G2

Masculine head, good substance, not overdone in any way, good spring of rib, short coupled with nice bend of stifle covered with ground well.

Lovely mature bitch with a balanced outline and super head, strong shoulders and well ribbed body, level topline short coupled, super width of second thigh and moved with purpose- Unlucky to meet PG winner but I’m sure could change places on another day.


2, Millington’s Golmas Guard of Honour at Jarabees JW

 

Loved the overall balance of this dog, good head with a melting expression, clean neck with well laid shoulders, good topline tail set and feet, moved well.

A well grown puppy with good head and correct ear placement, good length of leg with well-shaped feet presented a balanced outline with a strong topline and well set tail, moved with ease around the ring, PB & PG2


2, Young’s Fourjays Sassy Said It All

 

Sister to 1 very similar in make and shape with a good shaped head, correct eye shape with lovely expression, ribs were well sprung with short coupled loin, good topline and tail set moved well.

Another nice puppy from this litter, very well balanced with the most pleasing is dispositions, balanced for and rear with plenty of bone, moved easily, coat correct and lovely expression.

This yellow bitch really caught my eye, lovely head and expression dark pigmentation, lovely reach of neck into strong topline and prefect tailset, she presents a balanced outline, good angulation front a rear, showed and moved well. BOB

Good honest cocker, balanced throughout, good had with lovely expression, moderate neck, well placed shoulders, good substance to legs, nice rib and good rear angulation. Not the movement of 1.

Exceptional quality on this dog,his head and expression are simply a delight, his colour is text book, on the move he has a positive roll but keeps a strong topline in superb condition and presented beautifully- BOB

 

2, Hipgraves Lord of the Glittering Caves at Ternspringer

 

Really liked this boy too and his head and expression are so typical, his coat is of quality and colour is good, to go over wasn’t much different to 1, but feel the winner was a little more positive going away today.

Presented a nice outline, very feminine throughout, good eye and expression, good length of neck leading into good shoulder, lovely coat and condition and shows promising, moved well once settled.


2, Thomas’s Tigerrock Top Gun

 

All male and is certainly built for function, good head proportions, holds a good outline on the move, strong quarters well-muscled, just not as positive as 1 on the move today.

Another lovely balanced dog, well-presented and handled, correct head shape and expression, good neck into well laid back shoulders, tight feet, correct topline with rise over the loin, moved and showed well.

A dog I have always admired from the ringside and he did not disappoint today. He is so full of breed type and a pleasure to go over, lovely head and kind gentle expression, very good forehand with good bone, strong compact body firm topline and well angulated quarters, true fluid action with good drive. Presented in gleaming coat and condition and superbly handled. Thrilled to watch him go BVIS under Mr Horswell.

 

2, Bufton & Rileys Wylloh Anastasia

 

A 8 year old Golden Retriver Bitch, Prettiest of heads, loved her balance and angulation, mature through her body with well spring of ribs, super bone & feet, such fluid action on the move as sound as they come, unlucky to meet 1 on the day.
