Greyhound, Norwegian Elkhound

Greyhound Graduate (1,0)

1. Ball’s Boughton Back In Time. Red brindle bitch. Good sized bitch, perhaps could have a touch more length through the body for ideal proportions. Long head with flat skull, good eye shape but could be darker, long and strong neck and well laid smooth shoulders, ok in upper arm, some shape to topline, excellent width of thigh, moves very soundly up and down, could have more stride in profile but is generally light on her feet, shown good condition.

Greyhound Special Open Racing/Lure Coursing (4,0)

1. Clarke’s Shockwave Amber. Fawn brindle bitch. Balanced bitch who looks all of a piece and nothing out of place. Sweet head and expression, lovely eye. Feminine tapering head, long neck of balanced strength. A little flat over the topline. Good shoulder, could have more upper arm, good depth, owner a little kind with her food portions, moderate rear, soundest in the class holding her outline and moving on a light and free stride.

2. Prince & Ballentine’s Westview Puddles. Red brindle bitch, a little less shape than 1 though racy and feminine, feminine head and lovely expression, perhaps slightly fine in muzzle, better upper arm than 1, good shoulder too, would like more shape to topline, not quite the soundness in front movement as 1 but otherwise moved fairly well. Both 1 and 2 shown in excellent condition.

3. Abell’s Ballyoak Queen.

Greyhound Limit (4,0)

1. Howlett & Howden’s Rubicon’s Don’t Stop Believing (Imp). Red brindle parti dog. Excellent angles on this male front and rear, has masculinity and strength throughout, strong head but balanced and of good shape and type, excellent length of neck and set smoothly into shoulder, super return of upper arm, enough topline on the stack but loses it a little on the move, when he settled he was very true and had a good profile stride with plenty drive. Super condition. RBOB.

2. Sawer’s Boughton Back On Top JW. Red brindle dog. Would like a touch more length in the body for ideal proportions. Not always cooperating and unwilling to stand over his front to show off its correct angulation and layback. Preferred his head overall compared to 1, though wouldn’t like his eye any lighter. Lovely long neck of good strength. Excellent depth throughout with pleasing shape to top and underline. Max angulation to his rear. Not putting as much into his movement today as I have seen him previous. An exhibit with type and quality nonetheless.

3. Ball’s Boughton Back In Time.

Greyhound Open (2,1)

1. Holder & Boggia’s Fionn Clann Bluebelle (Imp). Blue fawn brindle bitch. Very feminine and graceful bitch, just enough substance. She has very good balance and proportions and stands over herself very well with a lovely series of curves. Pleasing head, small ears, long neck, well made fore and aft. Excellent bone, pasterns and feet. I’d like a little more condition on her. Impressed on the move, accurate and sound and her overall action is so light and free, with a natural carriage so lovely to see. BOB.

Norwegian Elkhound Post Graduate (4,0)

1. Clark’s Bowerhinton Bowtruckle Rollssupreme. A well developed young bitch who impressed immediately for her balance and showmanship. Pleasing head and ear, strong neck into a well made front. To be critical, I would like a shade less length and more level topline but her back is strong and firm. Balanced rear with strength. Well set tail. Moved very soundly in all directions with particularly pleasing footfall and long stride. Good coat and overall condition. BOB.

2. Threagold’s Laakso Katja. Would not like any less of this bitch, although she is very proportioned and compact, scoring slightly here over 1. Feminine head and attractive expression. Light on her feet on the move but not the drive or carriage of 1. Good coat colour and texture. Didn’t make it an easy decision here! RBOB.

3. Stephenson’s Kamgaard Kyffin for Brawdor. Liked many things about this dog, none less than his excellent leg length and proportions, but gave away in maturity in this class, in both body and mind!

Norwegian Elkhound Open (2,0)

1. Threagold’s Ch Norvin Joyeux Noel. A good sized feminine bitch, could have a touch more leg for absolute ideal proportions. Lovely head and expression from her dark eyes, small well-set ears, preferred her head over 2. Well laid front, in good body with a firm topline and strong rear. An active mover with good carriage, if a little wide coming towards.

2. Stephenson’s Bowerhinton Bangalore at Brawdor JW. 10 year old and marvellous for his age. Excellent proportions and length of leg. Masculine in head, if a little unbalanced between skull and muzzle. Pleasing front, short back and tail bang on. Not the strength in the rear or movement of 1.
