Huddersfield Limit Show 21/12/25

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge your Limit Show and thank you to all the exhibitors who made this a very friendly show.

AV Imported Breed Register Open – no entries

AVNSC Minor Puppy (2:0) 1. Sherlock’s CRIMICAR STARBURST. 8 month old Cocker Spaniel. Good head with square muzzle. Nice dark eye. Correct ear set. Stands straight in front & rear with level topline. Moved well round the ring. 2) Sherlock’s DREAMER BY DESIGN. Sibling to 1. Same attributes apply to this young dog, they are definitely two peas in a pod. Both have well rounded hindquarters and strong legs to help drive. Just preferred the movement of 1 today and would like a little less weight on both.

AVNSC Puppy (6:2) 1. Arden’s MADIKA SHINE ON JW Beagle. This young lady throws a lovely outline when stood in profile. Tail never stopped wagging. Lovely head with correct planes, slightly domed skull and moderate stop. Low set ears. Strong in Jaw with correct bite. Well arched neck flowing into nicely angulated shoulders. Straight in-front and from behind. Nice tight feet. Moved straight and true covering the ground well. BPIS 2) Aykroyd & Bailey’s BRUXLEY LOVE ACTUALLY OF CLYDESIAN Cocker Spaniel. This young lady pushed hard for 1st place. Lovely typical head shape, strong jaw, with complete scissor bite. Moderate neck flowing into well laid back shoulders. Gave a lovely outline in profile and was solid in front and rear quarters. Firm & thickly padded feet. Moved very well both on the up & back & round keeping that happy gait. 3) Swift’s MAUI DEMIGOD WITH STARANUBIS Min Pinscher.

AVNSC Junior. (7:1) For me the best class of the day! 1) Dandy & Shaw’s GERCEKASK CRIME LORD JW Sib Husky. 13 month old dog who could definitely do the job he was bred for. Stands excellent in profile. Medium sized dog of moderate bone. Head in proportion to body. Chiselled head of moderate width & length. Correct head planes. Lovely arch of neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Correct angulation front & rear. Front & back legs parallel. Well muscled. Good brush of tail. Shown in good coat. Movement was this dog’s forte today. Moved round the ring effortlessly with convergence at speed. Could go all day. Pleased to award him BIS 2) Copping & Phillips JAEVA COTTON TRADER J.R.T. Pushed hard for 1st place. 13m old bitch. Lovely head with keen expression. Good head with strong muzzle, well defined stop. Correct dark, almond shaped eyes giving lovely expression. Strong in neck. Slightly longer than tall in body, spannable, with strong level back and well-muscled loin. Well boned front & rear. High set tail that was carried correct on the move. Moved well round the ring with plenty of drive but just leaned in a little on the down & back.

AVNSC Yearling (3:1) 1) Walker’s ANDALASIA GUNFIRE Cocker Spaniel. 23 month old blue roan dog who is maturing very well. Head well developed. Ears set low with fine feathering. Correct dark eyes giving lovely expression. Nice reach of neck. Body strong & compact with deep chest. Well-sprung in rib with short loin. Well- muscled. Correct coat texture and well feathered. Movement clean and true with straight lines and covered the ground well. 2) Smith’s VIGOR LUSCIOUS Beagle. Unsettled in this class. Nice head with slightly domed skull. Correct eye shape giving appealing expression. Good length of neck. Correct round bone in front & rear. Level topline. Strong sturdy tail which didn’t stop wagging. Fidgety today but once settled on the move covered the ground ok.

AVNSC Novice (5:1) 1) Copping & Phillips JAEVA COTTON TRADER J.R.T. – (See 2nd in Junior) 2) Watt & Taylor’s SENOIA A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE Cocker Spaniel. Another close class between 1 & 2. Lovely black bitch who gives a lovely silhouette in profile. 3 years old and coming into her own. Typical head shape with lovely dark expressive eyes. Nice reach of neck. Correct front angulation standing on strong straight legs. Compact body with level topline. Well sprung ribs with short loin. Correct angulation in rear with good bend of stifle. Lovely straight movement round the ring with constantly wagging tail. 3) Grist’s WILACHANS CASTAWAY Papillon

AVNSC Graduate (7:3) 1) Walker’s ANDALASIA GUNFIRE (See 1st in Yearling) 2) Mothersdale’s AMIVIKE’S THUNDER CLOUD J.S.I. 16 month old crazy Shiba Inu. This girl has lots of attitude which I liked. Definitely bright, active, keen & alert. Nice triangular head, well defined stop. Tight flews. Correct eye shape and lovely small pricked ears. Moderately arched neck. Strong in body with level topline. Deep chest. Strong legs set parallel to ground. Strong muscle in rear. Tight feet. Correctly set tail that was thick & curled. Correct coat texture & in good jacket. Moved with determination around the ring once settled. 3) Mather’s KYNA CRYSTAL CLEAR Cocker Spaniel

AVNSC Post Graduate (6;1) 1) Watt & Taylor’s SENOIA A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE Cocker Spaniel (See 2nd in Novice) 2) Mather’s KYNA CRYSTAL CLEAR Cocker Spaniel. This young lady got better & better as the day went on & I hope she has now improved from her scare at a previous show. Very pretty blue roan bitch in correct proportions throughout. Correct clean head with complete scissor bite.

Nice ear shape & length. Compact body with level topline. Stands straight front & rear. Moved out very well. 3) Grist’s AMDOS VIXEN AT WILACHANS Papillon

AVNSC Limit (9:2) 1) Kerr’s UDALIE DU MENUEL GALOPIN Whippet. 2year old bitch that exudes elegance and grace. Long & lean in head with clean cut powerful jaw. Lovely expression from the eyes. Elegant neck flowing into well laid- back shoulders. Strong bone in front & rear. Deep, deep chest and brisket. Good arch over loin. Well sprung ribs. Very strong in hindquarters with well- developed thighs. Well arched toes. Free flowing movement. Long easy strides with straight and true movement. 2) Mothersdale’s AMIVIKES’S UNFORGETTABLE J.S.I. 2year old dog. Well balanced dog.

Head typical of the breed with blunt triangular shaped head. Clean muzzle. Nice small almond eyes and small pricked ears in proportion to head. Thick & muscular neck. Good angulation in front. Level topline strong in loin & well angulated rear. Correct dense coat. Moved out well.

AVNSC Open Bitch (6:1) 1) Wilkinson’s SILKRIDGE SAFFRON OF FLETCHGATE Whippet. 4 year old Whippet bitch. Looked a picture in profile. Typical outline. Head long & lean, tapering muzzle and clean cut jaw. Oval eyes giving alert expression. Lovely long muscular arched neck flowing into well laid back shoulders. Straight in front with moderate bone. Deep chest. Broad long back, well-muscled, with well sprung ribs. Definite tuck up. Strongly muscled in rear with well bent stifles & straight legs perpendicular to ground. Slightly sloping croup. Moved round the ring with a free & easy gait whilst holding topline. 2) KYNA CRYSTAL CLEAR (see 2nd in Post Graduate) 3) Casey’s TIGEROCK LIT DE ROSES WITH WILLOWMEANA W.S.S.

AVNSC Special Veteran Dog (2:1) Dobson’s BLACKSTEM BE TRUE TO ME Whippet (2:1) 8 year old dog with a lovely handler. Carrying a tad more weight today but still has all the attributes of the breed. Correct head with level planes, nice arched neck flowing into well laid back shoulders. Strong back with a little arch over loin. Stood straight front & rear. In good coat. Moved out steady for handler. RBVIS

AVNSC Special Veteran Bitch (6:0) 1) Perfitt-Jones SAMJOES THE ONE AND ONLY VW Al Malamute. 8 year old bitch. Heavy boned powerful bitch, in proportion. Broad head, large muzzle, good stop. Almond shaped eyes. Nice triangular shaped ears used to show good expression. Strong in neck which flowed into shoulders. Body strong with deep chest. Gently sloping top-line. Correct weight. Strongly muscled rear quarters with moderately bent hocks. Dense coat. Liked a good ‘Woo’ or two to let me know she was ready to go. Movement was very good up & down, held under control by her young handler. Once settled moved with easy tireless movement, this dog could still go all day. BVIS 2) Wilkinson’s CITYCROFT STARFALL JW. 8 year old Whippet. Lovely head, correct height to length ratio. Stands lovely in profile. Nicely arched neck. Still strong in back, well- muscled throughout. Deep chest. Definite tuck up. Oval feet with well arched toes. Moved free & easy with his young handler. 3) Sherlock’s SNOWGATE INDIGO MIST TO CRIMICAR Cocker Spaniel.

AVNSC Special Vintage Dog (1:0) 1) SAMJOE HOLLOW MOON Al Malamute. 12 years young dog who was totally enjoying his day out. Definitely not showing his age and was bouncing around like a 2 year old. Stands true & strong in profile. Powerful, heavy built dog with lovely head in proportion to body. Moderately arched neck. Strong heavy boned front and rear with short pasterns. Deep chested and still strong in back.

Straight legs when viewed from front & rear. Thick coat. Still in great condition. Wasn’t going to wait for his handler & he knew what he was doing in the ring and boy can this guy still move. Easy, tireless gait with power from behind. He had a great time out and had to be Best Vintage In Show. BVinS

AVNSC Special Vintage Bitch (1:0) Mothersdale’s AMIVIKE WITH A TOUCH OF INK VW J.S.I. 13 1/2 year old bitch that again was up for a fun day out. Still showing excellent qualities of the breed.

Stands lovely and straight in profile. Typical head for the breed. Nice front angulation with tight feet. Level back with short loin. Still strong in second thigh with nice turn of stifle. Moved like a youngster and kept handler on her toes. RBVinS

AVNSC Hound Open (4:0) 1) Kerr’s UDALIE DU MENUEL GALOPIN Whippet (see 1st AVNSC Limit) 2) Wilkinson’s SILKRIDGE SAFFRON OF FLETCHGATE Whippet (see AVNSC Open Bitch) 3) Dobson’s BLACKSTEM BE TRUE TO ME Whippet.

AVNSC Gundog Open (7:3) 1) Watt & Taylor’s SENOIA A SONG OF ICE & FIRE Cocker Spaniel (see 2nd in AVNSC Novice) 2) Daniels HELUIN TAKE APPLAUSE Cocker Spaniel. Another good example of the breed. Correct head shape with square muzzle & defined stop. Nice brown eyes to compliment coat colour. Moderate length of neck set neatly into well laid back shoulders. Strong compact back, ribs well sprung. Legs well boned, although his front stance was not his forte in this class. In good coat well conditioned. Moved well with a happy gait around the ring. 3) Casey’s TIGERROCK LIT DE ROSES WITH WILLOWMEANA W.S.S.

AVNSC Toy Open (5:1) 1) Kerfoot’s FLUTTERBY HOLLY BLUE Papillon. Another dog that had settled later on in the day. Nice head with slightly rounded skull. Fine muzzle with well defined stop. Dark round eyes. Typical Papillon ears of large rounded shape. Heavily fringed. Kept erect. Medium neck.

Of fine straight bone. Long in body with level topline. Rear hindquarters level from behind. Long flowing coat. Light free flowing movement which when settled went very well. 2)Swift’s MAUI DEMIGOD WITH STARANUBIS Min Pinscher. This dog was a lot better in the afternoon classes too. A well balanced but sturdy dog. Head in proportion to body, high set ears that were used well. Strong in jaw with correct bite. Strong clean slightly arched neck. Straight legs front & rear. Strong in body with well sprung ribs. Legs parallel from rear. Great hackneyed movement when settled. 3)Grist’s AMDOS VIXEN AT WILACHANS Papillon.

AVNSC Terrier Open (1:0) 1) Copping & Phillips JAEVA COTTON TRADER J.R.T (see AVNSC Novice)

AVNSC Utility Open (2:0) 1) Mothersdale’s AMIVIKE’S COS I AM SPECIAL TOO J.S.I. 4 year old bitch

 who is in great condition. Well balanced, lively and friendly. Typical head with blunt triangle shape.

Straight muzzle. Lovely dark eyes of almond shape. Keen & alert expression. Thick muscular neck. Straight in forearm with moderate bone. Deep chest. Moderate back with good spring of rib. Good strong hindquarters. Slight bend in stifles and stood parallel from behind. Lovely tail which was carried over back. Stands lovely in profile & moved with energy round the ring. RBIS.

AVNSC Pastoral Open (3:1) 1) Sieczkarek’s JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN MOTO OIES FOR CHOCOLATE PAW (IMP POL) Australian Shepherd. 15 month old bitch, maturing nicely. Stands well balanced in profile. Feminine throughout. Nice head with correct hear planes. Almond shaped eyes. Strong muzzle. Just enough reach of neck fitting smoothly into shoulders. Good angulation in front but would like a little more in the rear. Strong level topline. Moved very well by handler & at the correct speed. No exaggeration in movement. Will only get better with age. 2) Garvey & Walker’s NEW KID ON THE BLOCK WITH MELNEG Border Collie. This boy pushed hard for 1st place but 1 just won on cleaner movement. Lovely dog in great condition. Well proportioned & balanced. Good broad skull with distinct stop. Oval shaped eyes giving the keen alert expression typical of the breed. Medium sized ears he used well. Front-legs strong in bone but not too heavy. Deep chested, level topline & broad in loin with a moderate tuck up. Very good turn of stifle. Nice tight feet. Moved better round the ring once settled.

AVNSC Working Open (3:1) 1) Perfitt-Jones SAMJOES THE ONE AND ONLY VW Al Malamute. (see AVNSC Veteran Bitch) 2) Dobson’s CHANTAVORY COCO CHANEL Rottweiler. 3 year old bitch that was a little out of sorts today. Represents the breed well. Correctly proportioned and stood well in profile. Strong broad head with dark eyes. Strong in jaw with correct bite. Tight flews. Good reach of neck which is strong and muscular. Legs stand straight with plenty of substance. Deep chest with well sprung ribs although carrying a little too much weight. Strong in hindquarters. Moved out well and steady with correct stride.

AVNSC Sporting (7:3) 1) CRIMICAR DREAM LOVER Cocker Spaniel. 6 year old bitch. Moved better in the afternoon. Typical of the breed with nice head, correct ear set with fine feathering, good dark eyes and strong in muzzle. Strong compact body. Straight in fore & hindlegs. Moved out well. 2) TIGGEROCK AMAZING GRACE WITH WILLOWMEANA W.S.S. Another that had settled later on in the afternoon. Head in proportion to body. Nice square muzzle, good dark eyes. Good arch of neck, clean in throat. Moderately built body with strong hindquarters. Moved out well this time. 3) Smith’s VIGOR LUSCIOUS Beagle

AVNSC Non-Sporting (3:0) 1) Garvey & Walker’s NEW KID ON THE BLOCK WITH MELNEG (See 2nd in AVNSC Pastoral Open) 2) Mirecki’s HAMADRYAS GOLD AT WAKANDA G.S.D Nice looking feminine bitch. Well balanced, nothing exaggerated. Clean cut fairly broad head with well placed ears. Good wedge shaped muzzle. Long Strong neck. Looked good from front & rear. Stood on strong oval bones. Deep chest with long brisket. Strong back with slightly sloping croup. Movement let her down in this class as she paced a little round ring. Went better in later class. 3) MAUI DEMIGOD WITH STARANUBIS Min Pinscher.

AVNSC Michael Boothroyd Open Stakes (6:3) 1) Casey’s TIGGEROCK LIT DE ROSES WITH WILLOWMEANA W.S.S This dog had settled into her stride by end of the day. Gives a typical outline of the breed. Symmetrical & compact outline. Head in proportion, dark eyes & Correct ear set. Nice length of body. Movement in this class was steady & at the correct speed but still had power & drive which covered the ground well.

AVNSC Margaret Burley Veteran Stakes (8:4) 1) Casey’s TIGGEROCK STRIKE A POSE E.S.S This dog had been up against some stiff competition in earlier classes and she deserved this placing. Strong compact bitch with good broad medium length head. Correct ear set with good feathering. Deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well- coupled. Nice tight feet. Moved very well round the ring. 2) Mothersdale’s AMIVIKE SUPER MINX ShCM VW J.S.I – 11 year old bitch who does not show any signs of aging. Full of character. Typical outline for the breed with lovely head, nicely arched neck & strong in body. Forearms straight and Hindquarters to match. Parallel from behind. Tail set high. Light on feet with lots of energy. 3)Dobson’s BLACKSTEM BE TRUE TO ME Whippet.

AVNSC Santa Paws Stakes Open (13:1) 1) Swift’s MAUI DEMIGOD WITH STARANUBIS Min Pinscher (see 2nd in AVNSC Toy Open) 2) Ranshaw’s CONQUELL CURLEY SPENCER AT REYAKOSA Pug. Gives a square & cobby outline. Nice round head, short muzzle and good black pigmentation. Large dark eyes. Strong and nice length to legs. Broad chest with level topline. In good coat. Move out well.

Junior Handling 1) Jacob – 8yrs 2) Holly 9yrs 3) Holly 7yrs 4) Oscar 10yrs

Well done to you all. You handled your dogs extremely well, taking instructions well and listening to the judge. Lines were very straight and movement was at correct pace for your breed.
