I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for their kind invitation to judge at their Open Show, and a thank you to the exhibitors who supported the Society and me with their entries.

1st Spanias: Charids Queen of Hearts

Attractive Red bitch one day short of her first birthday. Lovely size overall, displayed a good breed profile standing and on the move. Feminine head and soft expression, good broad flat skull, nicely placed erect ears, used well. Good cushioning under eyes, muzzle of good length, large black nose, correct bite, good black gums and blueish black tongue. Lovely dark almond eyes well set. Head set off with lovely coat furnishings. Broad and good depth to chest, firm neck of good length leading into a level topline, high tail set curled over her back with plenty of plume which finished of the picture. Well-presented coat of good texture and length, giving an attractive appearance. Her young handler really showed her off to advantage, displaying a graceful flowing movement with sound front and rear action, attentive when asked to stand. Pleased to award her BPIB, RBOB and Puppy Utility Winner.

1st Spanias: Charids King of Hearts

Handsome upstanding five-year-old red male, in profuse coat well coated overall, good presentation. Large masculine headpiece and expression. Expressive dark almond shaped eyes well set, plenty of cushioning under and to muzzle, jet black nose, black gums, blueish black tongue. Head carried proudly on neck of good length supported on good shoulders, level topline, high set tail carriage. Plenty of substance and bone to body throughout, good depth to broad chest and ribcage, well covered hindquarters, good small-shaped cat feet. Moved soundly around the ring, covering the ground well. Pleased to award him BOB.

1st Barnett: Salvadorada Happy Go Lucky

Smart three-year-old B/W bitch displayed a lovely feminine head shape, broad flat skull, high set leathers framing her face, slight stop, muzzle of good length, clean lips, dark pigmentation to black nose, dark oval eyes, appealing expression. Clean outline to arched neck, set into good shoulder placements, good depth to chest and ribcage, slight tuck up. Firm topline leading to a well-placed tail, shapely well-defined hindquarters. Presented a lovely picture standing and on the move around the ring, showed herself off with sound movement. Well-presented coat, good even markings. Pleased to award her RBOB.

1st Tysterman: Carodal Jacobs Ladder

Delightful four-year-old L/W bitch looked a picture in profile showed with confidence and presences. Showed lovely breed type plus being gracefully feminine overall. Appealing head and expression, broad flat skull, good placement to leathers contouring her face, gentle expressive oval eyes, firm length of muzzle, self-coloured nose, neat fitting lips. Well-muscled neck leading to good layback of shoulders, plenty of fore chest and well sprung ribs, slight tuck up. Straight topline, good set to tail always carried level with back. Good overall construction and muscle tone moved with plenty of drive showing her happy temperament. Pleased to award her BOB.

2nd Penn: Dalfellin Agape at Dalarisa

Another pretty five-year-old B/W bitch, most delightful temperament, tail always on the go. Moved well with an easy sound action when viewed from all angles, just slightly lost her topline at times when moving. Gentle feminine head and expression, broad flat skull, well set dark oval eyes, good shaping to muzzle, used her ears well, clean throat line, neck of good length, set into well placed shoulder placement, good depth and width to chest, lovely body frame and angulations overall.

1st Ferry: Longsdale’s Eternal Flame with Ferrybelle

Charming 23-month-old sable bitch, pretty head and cutie expression, lovely well shaped and set oval dark eyes. Lovely head shape, flattish skull, good set to erect ears used well, good shape and length to muzzle, jet black nose. Carried her head well on a moderately short neck, good straight topline, used her well placed plumed tail showing her happy temperament. Well coated overall, good texture and length, good ruff around head. Shapely body, well angulated front and rear. Moved and displayed an easy and sound action. Pleased to award her BOB.

1st Nicholls: Izlou Muffin Compares for Shyllar

Classy looking jet black two-year-old bitch in lovely glossy coat of good texture and length producing a lovely finished picture. Has all the essentials in good measures. Well made with nothing to hide, good balance both standing and on the move. Lovely feminine head and shape, jet black oval eyes and nose, good small ears always used, wedged muzzle of good length. Lovely compact body, good topline, well set plumed tail. Good spring to ribs that were well covered, well laid shoulders, and good bend to stifles. On the move moved with verve and showed continually, did all her handler asked of her. Pleased to award her BOB.

1st Wright: Black Matrix Di Poggio Petroio to Sealandair

Smart 11-month-old B/T male Japanese Shiba Inu really liked showing and projecting himself standing and on the move. Good masculine head, dark almond eyes, with alert expression. Broad skull, ears set correctly good stop, firm muzzle of good length, correct bite, black nose, firm lips. Good reach of arched neck into well laid shoulders, true front, straight firm back, good twist to tail set correctly. Well put together, and proportioned body. Good chest and ribcage, shapely hindquarters, moved with drive and style for such a young one. Pleased to award him AVNSC BP and Puppy Group Three.

1st Timms: Olijah Dare to Dream

Cracking 13-month-old Pied French Bulldog male, cut quite a figure standing and on the move. Full of quality, very typy and sound, totally honest and free from exaggeration. Scored with his steady showmanship, front and rear movements were a joy to watch, covering the ground with easy action. Well moulded head shape of good proportions, good ear carriage and eye placement, black open nostril nose, black lips, good stop with cushioning. Strong arched neck, leading into firm well- muscled shoulders. Clean cut profile, strong muscular body depth and well ribbed chest, topline slight rise over loin, firm hindquarters. Stood four square on well boned legs and feet. Pleased to award him Best AVNSC, Utility Group Winner then delighted to see him win BIS.

Handsome 15 -month-old Grey Mexican Hairless Male. Had an endearing masculine head and expression, lovely dark expressive almond shaped eyes, good wedge shape to head, broad skull, erect large ears set at an angle, good length to muzzle, jet black nose, correct bite, neat black lips. Clean cut length to muscled neck, leading into firm straight topline. Lovely depth to chest, good ribbing, slight tuck up, well bodied covering his frame. Well angulated shoulders plenty muscle to well angulated hindquarters. On the move, moved with confidence and stepped out well, lovely sound drive, and displayed a happy temperament. 1st Rice: CH Ricox Somebody to Love JW ShCM ShCEx VW OSW

Judged this quality 9-year-old Tibetan Spaniel bitch before, and she is still as gorgeous. This lovely gold black mask bitch just never puts a foot wrong, loves her showing, has a proud stance standing and on the move. Shown in a well-presented coat, good ruffle around head, well plumbed tail. Attractive head soft gentle facial expression, large dark bright eyes, well set leathers framing her face. Sound frame, well covered, with good muscle tone and angulation front and rear. Has that look at me on the move, used her hocks to move soundly, could not go past her for the class. Pleased to award her Best Utility Veteran.

2nd Cheatham: CH Schipdale a Kind of Magic ShCEx

Another young seven-year-old jet-black Schipperke male who I judged before and has come on so well, now a Champion and I can see why. So well turned-out, black sheen to a full dense harsh coat, on a small shapely cobby body. Handsome masculine head, broadly flat between good erect ears set correctly, lovely alert foxy expression, expressive dark eyes, good cushioning under eyes, firm muzzle of good length, black nose. Dead level topline, leading to a well-placed curl to tail. Strong muscular neck, well placed shoulders, plenty depth to chest, well-muscled hindquarters used to really drive himself around the ring, showing off his showmanship.

Handsome six-year-old Gold and White Shih Tzu male. Eye catching head, lovely looking expression, dark pigmentation to well set large eyes and open nostril nose, correct bite, good length to muzzle. Good furnishings to head, top knot, and leathers which framed the face to complete the picture. Nicely coated attractive size and balance, coat of good texture and length, lovely plumed tail. Good length to body, plenty depth to chest, pleasing ribcage, well boned throughout. Angulations front and rear in correct proportions. Moved smartly strutting his stride around the ring working well with his handler.

2nd Bryant: Middletune Billy the Kid under Misteltein

Another handsome two-year-old Gold and White Shih Tzu male, similar in appearance to winner, wearing a lovely shaded coat which was well presented. Masculine head of good proportions, nicely shaped, broad skull, long feathered ears framing face, good top knot, muzzle of good width, showing of his long beard, jet black open nostril, good bite. Good length to neck carrying head proudly, leading into well laid shoulders. Good front and rear angulations, pleasing depth of chest with steady topline, lovely, plumed tail carried well standing and on the move. Displayed his happy temperament on the move showing a sound action front and rear.

Another exhibit I judged earlier in the year and has really matured and developed nicely. Nineteen-month-old Gold Sable, black mask Tibetan Spaniel bitch. Elegant head carried proudly using her ears well, attractive expression, lovely dark eyes well set, muzzle of good length with soft cushioning, jet black nose. True front, lovely clean neck, firm topline, leading to a well-set plumed tail carried correctly. Balanced all through and shown in excellent condition. Moved freely with style and lovely attitude to win Reserve in the Utility Group.

Attractive seven-month-old Gold Lhasa Apso bitch, a real sweetie, has plenty of personality and style. A real little showgirl and knows how to show off and present herself. Graceful typical head, appealing expression, lovely head and ears furnishings. Oval dark eyes, good length to muzzle, correct bite, jet black nose, black beard furnishings. Good arched neck carrying her head proudly, lovely lay of shoulders, good front, correct size and outline is pleasing. Straight topline, lovely, plumed tail draped over her back, good coverage to body frame, shapely hindquarters well-muscled. Flawless flowing movement using her quarters to drive with purpose. Pleased to award her Reserve in Utility Puppy Group.

1st Hunter’s: Katiesue’s Attraction at Salatini

This young 6-month-old light Bridle with white trimmings took my eye from the start and hoped she didn’t disappoint when going over her and she didn’t. What a beauty she is I have a soft spot for Whippets, and she filled the eye with her shapely graceful outline. On the move she never put a foot wrong showing her flowing free movement, with lovely driving action to the rear. Elegant head, enhancing expression, well-shaped oval eyes, shapely muzzle. Long arched neck, leading into good, angulated shoulder and upper arm, deep chest well ribbed. Nicely curved topline, well-muscled shapely hindquarters, natural showgirl when standing. Handler getting the best out of her. Lovely to see her in the ring for BPIS and seeing her winning the BPIS award, a puppy who is going to have a bright future.
