Firstly, I’d like to thank the Committee for the invitation to judge Great Danes at their very well organised Christmas Show. A lovely entry, thank you exhibitors, was concluded in enjoyable time with the excellent support from my two stewards Rachel & Nicole.

All mouths had a prefect, regular and complete scissor bite. Some of the entries did not cope well with the limited space.

Class 89 Puppy Dog or Bitch

1. Smith’s BONDOR BLURRED LINES, Brindle Bitch 7 Months.

BPIB & Group 3.

Took my eye as she entered the ring. A very promising girl, still young, but has great potential. She needs some time spent on her to fulfil early promise. Very well balanced with good head planes and length of foreface. Very pleasing layback of shoulder and turn of stifle. Correct amount of bone with nice tight feet.

Class 90 Junior Dog or Bitch

1. Jacques & Kirby’s JACQUKIR LOVE ME AGAIN (AI), Fawn Bitch 14 Months.

BOB & Group 4.

Elegantly built with lovely head and soft expression. Excellent shaped dark eyes and well-set ears. She has a well-defined neck leading into good shoulders, with elbows well tucked under a good body and super level topline maintained on the move with that touch of dash and dare. Well angulated hindquarters, good bone throughout and proper catlike feet. She coped with the limited space available better than most. She is of good type throughout. Will watch career with great interest.

2. Jacques & Kirby’s X-FOOT’S SIGGYS SNOW QUEEN ELSA (Imp Swe), Fawn Bitch 14 Months.

Another lovely girl, not much between first and second on the day. First won me over with height and a little more confidence on the move. However, she has a good head, kind eye and expression. Good bone, good depth to chest and excellent tight feet. Topline spot on.

Class 91 Post Graduate Dog or Bitch

1. Tasker’s NEWARTHDANE MARS, Black Dog, 2 Years.

Well-proportioned head, dark and expressive eyes and good length of neck and excellent shoulders. Well-handled and presented in excellent condition.

Class 92 Open Dog or Bitch

1. Pendleton-Watkin’s GOLDANIA’S KING OF DRAGO JW, Brindle Dog 3 Years. RBOB.

Very muscular and strong male who is all dog. Super neck into strong shoulders. Straight front and rear. Good depth to body and well boned. Unfortunately, didn’t like the confirmed conditions that obviously spoilt his movement and topline.

2. Smith’s ROUCANDANE WINDRUSH FOR BONDOR, Fawn Bitch 2 Years.

Darker fawn girl with a lovely black muzzle, but not happy at all today, perhaps confined conditions not to her liking. Good shaped dark eyes and well-set ears. Good crested neck and lovely bone, straight front and back.
