Lancashire, Yorkshire & Cheshire Basset Hound Club

Lancashire Yorkshire and Cheshire Basset Hound Club PM Show

November 16th 2025

Thank you to the LYCBHC Committee for their kind invitation. I really enjoyed my day with you all and had plenty quality dogs to choose from despite the relatively small entry.

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st Diheath Cracker

Impressive Tricolour youngster who appealed in many aspects. Lovely head; balanced, set on parallel planes with good shaping to the skull and plenty depth to his muzzle. Stands true in front with excellent bone and feet. Ribbed well back. Correct topline and tailset with apple bum developing nicely. Moved with drive from parallel hocks. Best Puppy in Show

Junior Dog (1,0)

1st Clanwillow The Jazz Singer

Soundly made 12 months old Tricolour. Pleasing head with good balance comparing skull to muzzle. Deep muzzle. Strong neck. Clear eye of good shape. Good bone. Developing fill in forechest though still needs to firm up in front. Deep all through the body. Broad across the back with firm, level topline, strongly coupled and excellent tailset. Decent width to thighs and excellent firm hocks low to ground which gave him strong rear movement.

Post Graduate Dog (3,0)

1st Diheath Chekov JW

Typical Red and White male with lots to like. Super expression from lovely clean eyes of correct lozenge shape. Masculine head with parallel head planes and excellent nose. Deep muzzle. Correct ears well set. Strong neck of good length with clean transition through to the shoulders. Well made in front with plenty forechest and good return in upper arm. Excellent bone and feet. Correct firm, level topline and tail well set on. Ample widthin hindquarters. Moved out really well with plenty drive from the rear.

2nd Sasilasy Edge Of Chaos At Lyonglen

Tricolour of pleasing overall type, built on moderate lines, with a masculine head and expression. Good length to his strong neck. Decent assembly in front with enough return through the upper arm and clean layback of shoulder. Firm in topline with good make to the ribs and ample depth through the body. Not quite the bone of the winner and feet could be chunkier for his size. Close between 2nd and 3rd but this boy scored points for correct topline and tailset (in preference to that of 3rd which was a little low set). Moved soundly.

3rd Starchief Grant

Open Dog (4,2)

Two excellent Quality Males

1st Armardio Against The Wind

Beautifully balanced Red and White who stands true front and back with the best of outlines. Head is particularly well balanced, set on correct planes with a proportionate muzzle to skull. Lean without being snipy, so masculine and with plenty of strength to it. Prominent occiput and correct doming to the skull with correct amount of stop. Well set ear of correct length. Strong neck. Plenty forechest with good length and return to upper arm balanced by well placed shoulders. Firm, level topline with excellent tail set and carriage. Moves with ease and with powerful rear drive from his well shaped hindquarters. An excellent male all through. BD and Best in Show.

2nd Ch Reveros Power Of Love

Really super Red and White Male. Positive properties in head with an excellent eye and ears of good length well set on. Strong through the neck. Plenty forechest with a prominent prosternum. Firm in topline, broad and muscular in back, with an excellent tailset. Well ribbed back. Deep through the body. Another who naturally stands true front and back on excellent feet. Beautifully presented in good order for skin and coat. Excellent mover. RBD.

Baby Puppy Bitch (1,0)

1st Chique To Chique A Story With A Tail For Longmynd

This Red and White baby is teeming with quality and breed type. Utterly scrumptious! Nicely shaped through the skull with good occiput. Eye of correct shape with the loveliest expression. Ears well set. Excellent bone and feet. Already showing plenty of prosternum sitting into her well made front with really well constructed hindquarters to match. She moves with the confidence of a veteran, so assured with accurate footfall and excellent use of her well set tail. Such character and presence, I am sure she has a very bright future ahead.

Junior Bitch (2,0)

1st Amazing White A Story With A Tail At Armardio (Imp Nld)

Typical in outline and so well constructed all through, this Red and White girl has a super dark eye and beautiful expression. Correct shaping to the skull with prominent occiput and correct balance between skull and muzzle. Ears of good length well set. Strong, well arched neck of good length. Excellent bone and feet. Plentiful forechest with correct angulation in front. Well ribbed back through the body and deep all through. Excellent width to the thighs in well made hindquarters with the desirable ‘apple bum’ behind. Moved out with drive and purpose making good use of her well set tail. RBB.

2nd Woodrich Precipitus Prudie

Another lovely Red and White, so feminine and with a pleasing outline. Lovely feminine head and expressive dark eye. Good shaping to the skull with balance to the head set on correct planes. Strong neck of good length. Firm topline and tailset with excellent hindquarters in side profile. Ribs extend well back with good depth through her underline. Not yet as well developed across the width of the rear when viewed from behind though moved out very soundly.

Post Graduate Bitch (3,2)

1st Diheath Marta

Red and White with plenty of substance in body and bone. Feminine head with lovely eye of good shape and colour. Parallel head planes. Good shape to muzzle. Within itself the head is well proportioned and of good shape though for absolute balance would want a touch more of it all over proportionate to her body size. A little heavier made around the shoulders so appears shorter in neck. Good bone for size. Plenty body on her. Deep in underline and ribbed well back. More moderately angulated front and back.

Limit Bitch (2,0)

1st Armardio Candle In The Wind JW

Typey Red and White who presented a picture of balance both on the stack and on the move. Excellent dark eyes with beautiful expression. Balanced head of correct proportions and parallel planes with well set ears. Well constructed in front with good length to the upper arm and firm around the elbows. Correct level topline with excellent tailset and carriage. Plenty length to ribs with an excellent underline. Loved her overall shape and balance coupled with her effortless movement. Close call for RBB.

2nd Diheath Elvis

Feminine Red and White with lovely dark eye. Head well balanced comparing skull to muzzle length and set on parallel planes. Large nose set on strong muzzle with relatively deep stop. Nice crest to neck. Well set ears of good length. Correctly proportioned length to height. Firm level topline with broad back. Plenty depth through underline and ribbed well back. Well muscled hindquarters. Preferred overall balance of one.

Open Bitch (1,0)

1st Armardio Wind Of Change JW

Super to go over. Constructed with a well balanced frame and proportions throughout. Red and White with the most beautiful of heads and correct lozenge shaped eye with good ears. Plenty bone with excellent feet. Strong, well arched neck of good length that blends into her well made shoulders with ample angulation and length of upper arm in the forequarters. Ribs extend well back. Excellent firm, level topline and tailset. Broad across the back with strong loins. Moved out well from her well built hindquarters that are broad with excellent angulation. Excellent use of tail and carriage on move. BB and Reserve Best in Show.
