Retriever (Golden)

Class 54. Puppy

1st – Hill & Smith’s Megarvey Cocomelon – a lovely young bitch that caught my eye as she entered the ring – I am sure she has a very promising future. Very well presented and in lovely condition for her age. Feminine head of good proportions. Good neck and front with well laid back shoulders. Short coupled with a super topline that maintained well on the move. Lovely tight feet. Well bent stifle with straight hocks. Very well balanced movement. Best Puppy. I was delighted that she went on to get Group 1 followed by Reserve Best Puppy in Show.

2nd – Carlton’s Thistlegate Sonoma Moon – unlucky to meet 1 today as also a very nice puppy, More masculine head with more maturing to do. Lovely front and nice tight feet. Short coupled and longer in leg than 1. Well presented. Preferred the bend of stifle of 1 but moved straight and true mainlining a level topline. Keen to see how he develops further.

3rd – McShane’s Shelbreagha Hollandaise at Rigerin

Class 55. Junior

1st – Russell and McCormack’s Flyngalee Dilly Dally – 15month old bitch, well balanced and in nice proportions. Feminine head into lovely neck and well laid back shoulders. Lovely front, slightly longer in loin. Good bend of stifle. Moved confidently and with ease.

2nd – Carlton’s Thistlegate Sonoma Moon – also second in Puppy

Class 56. Post Graduate

1st – Harper’s Tullochmohr Ray of Sunshine at Glynerva JW – coming up 3year old bitch showing great maturity, she had fantastic movement and looked the definition of fit for function. In hard condition and coat of lovely presentation. A lovely feminine head with nice pigmentation. Would prefer a little more front but is sufficient. Lovely angulation fore and hind with well let down hocks and good bend of stifle. Overall lovely balanced girl.

2nd – Russell and McCormacks’s Flyngalee Dilly Dally – also first in Junior

3rd – McFarlene and McFarlene’s Gie it Laldy

Class 57. Open

1st – Russell’s Grassyards Field of Gold JW – two and half year old bitch that just has fabulous show quality, commanded the ring with little effort. In fabulous condition and beautifully balanced throughout. Feminine head with lovely proportions and kind eye. Lovely front and well laid back shoulders. Level topline onto correct tailset. Short coupled and good angulation with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Just couldn’t help but keep watching her in the ring. Pleased to award Best of Breed and pleased to see her go to Group 2. Keen to watch her progress in the future.

2nd – Waddell’s New Years Eve Loyal Gold (Imp Pol) - close call to 1st but preferred the head and presence of 1, a really well made bitch, a little more mature at over 3 years old. Perfectly fit for function and I have no doubt could confidently manage a days work. Shown in lovely condition and in good presentation. Moved very well with good drive. Nice front with tight feet. Level topline with good tailset. Well bent stifle and straight hocks.

3rd – Harper’s Tullochmohr Shooting Star at Glynerva
