English St Bernard Club Open Show 2nd August 2025 Judge: Ricky Furnell (Bebecova) Thank you to the committee for the invite to judge at their show which gained a fantastic entry. In general the quality was good throughout the classes. A few exhibits showed poor dentition and also a few carrying extra weight which affects movement and overall health, especially in a giant breed. Baby Puppy dog Ourfairview Atlanta. Mrs C Iverson 5 month old smooth coated male, head developing as expected at this stage without excess. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Level top line which was maintained on the move. Strong bone throughout. Most balanced at this stage with the soundest movement. Working well with young handler to get the most out of him. Best Baby Puppy in Show. 2.Ken Bloom Rebel. Mrs D & Mr G Jones Another young male who shows lots of promise. Most pleasing of heads for his age with correct proportions throughout. Good reach of neck and a level top line. Once settled he moved well with good drive, however he needs to get to ringcraft classes to really get the most from him and give him the best chance of success. 3. Ourfairview Amsterdam. Miss A Harlow Litter sister to class winner with a lot of the same qualities. Head of good proportions and good reach of neck. Let herself down on the move today with untidy action fore and after but plenty of time on her side. 4. Alchazandis Pierette. Mrs H Pew Special Veteran Dog or Bitch 1.Penelope Van’t Hof Ten Eynder At Snowfordhill. Ms A & Mr E Lyons & Grubb Coming up for 9 year old bitch, scissor bite. Clean eye of good shape. Would like more reach of neck and slightly more length of leg to give more balance. Well angled front and good bone throughout with tidy feet. Strong top line for her age and a sounder mover covering the ground with effortless action. Presented in good clean condition and working well with handler. Pleased to award her BVIS. 2. CH Tombears Who Dares Wins Over Philandros. Ms P Forrest & Mrs G March Large masculine dog of 8 years. Head of good proportions with good reach of neck. Slightly upright in front. Good top line with strong bone throughout with good rear angulation. Light on his feet but untidy in movement today. Puppy Dog Saintdiamond Desire For Adventure At Millvosi. Mr & Mrs Millwood & Miss N Beck 7.5 month old, scissor bite. Clean eye of good shape and dark in colour. Well constructed front with good length of leg and well boned throughout, tidy feet. Strong top line which was held on the move. Covered the ground with sound drive once settled. Pleased to award him BPD 2. Bernmont Carlos. Miss P Muggleton 8 months old, head developing well. Dark eye which should tighten as head continues to develop. Lighter in bone throughout and raw at this stage but plenty of time on side. Again another sound mover once settled. Junior Dog Coldlea Midnight Sapphire. Me G Everton Impressive young male, pleasing head developing well. Scissor bite. Good reach of neck with well constructed front. Straight forelimbs with good bone and length of leg. Level top line which was maintained on the move. Enthusiastic mover, covering the ground with ease. Presented in immaculate condition and working well with handler. A serious consideration in the challenge. 2. Svanasjons Xtra Special (Swed Imp) Mrs H Venable-Smith Young male, still developing. Would like a touch more length of leg to give balance. Carrying extra weight today which showed on the move where he paced. Presented well in clean condition. Plenty of time on side for him to finish. Post Graduate 1.Just Like Phoenix Wielkopolski Bernardyn At Saranbeck Naf (Imp Pol) Mrs D Deuchar Fawcett One of the strongest classes in the dogs. Well balanced smooth coat. Pleasing head of correct proportions, ears of good shape and size to complete expression. Good reach of neck onto well laid front. Good bone throughout with tidy feet. Level top line which was maintained on the move. Sound mover covering the ground with ease. Pleased to award him reserve best dog. 2. Towerviewsaints Red Mist (Imp Ire) Mr L Kimberley & Mr A Doherty Another pleasing male, head of correct proportions and good reach of neck. Strong topline which he held on the move. Working well with handler to get the best out of him. Tidy mover covering the ground with clean effortless drive. 3. Streillys Hugo The Boss. Miss N Mokryk Another well presented dog with lots to like. Slightly proud of his tale today but well constructed throughout and moved with clean action. 4. Bernmont Sargeant. Ms P Forrest. Mrs R Lucas Limit dog Kingdom on The Rock Wielkopolski Bernardyn For Bellfries. Mrs M Jeffries & Mrs R Bell An impressive male who commands attention. Fantastic headpiece with gentle masculine expression. Ears of good size and carriage to complete picture. Strong bone throughout with tidy feet. Clearly capable of a days work. Sound mover covering the ground with reach and drive. Presented in immaculate condition, working well with handler to get the best from him. A standout of the day and pleased to award him Best In Show. 2. Jantar Alsani Giants. Mrs J Pieters Finer in type than one. Good clean muzzle, would like slightly more breath to skull to complete picture. Strong top line which was maintained on the move, well boned throughout and moved well covering the ground with ease. Open Dog 1.Chedham Boys Are Best. Mr L Kimberley & Mr A Doherty 4 year old male, dark clean eye. Masculine head of good proportions. Well boned throughout with tidy feet. Well angled fore and after with strong topline. Presented well in good clean condition, and moved well with clean action. Carrying a little extra weight today 2. Tombears Ready For Anything At Philandros Ms P Forrest & Mrs G March Head of good proportions, clean dark eye. Good length of leg and well off for bone. Out of condition today which let him down, steady mover but lacked drive. Minor Puppy Bitch Streillys Queen Of The Night. Miss N Brennan & Mrs B O’Reilly Scissor bite, dark clean eye, headpiece developing well. Would like a touch more length to neck. Well angled fore and after with good bone for age. Strong top line and presented well in clean condition. Moved well covering the ground with steady action for one so young. Puppy Bitch Parlesham Ebony Rose. (Imp Ire) Mr P & Mrs S Clarke Scissor bite, clean eye, dark in colour. Head developing well with a good reach of neck. Well boned throughout. Would like a touch more length to leg but plenty of time on her side. Level top line and presented well. Pleased to award Best Puppy in Show. 2. Elise De Mentmartre. Mr G Piciorus Dark clean eye, head of good type. Lots to like about her but needs to gain confidence. Strong top line and steady mover. Tidy feet. Has a lot of potential and moved well once settled. Junior Bitch 1.Coldlea Midnight Express. Ms S Thorpe & Mr D Meyrick Smooth bitch, dark in markings. When stood she oozes quality and sound construction. Clean eye of good shape. Strong neck, well boned throughout. Making handler work hard today, sound mover once settled. Lots to like about her and one I will follow with interest. 2. Saranbeck Dare To Dream. Mrs D Deuchar Fawcett Another lovely bitch, full of excitement. Correct head with clean eye of good shape and colour. Well boned throughout. Top line slightly soft at this stage. Mr & Mrs Milburn Another well constructed bitch, good front assembly. Soft in top line today. Well boned throughout with lots to like about her. Moved well covering the ground with clear driver. Presented in good clean condition and working well with handler. 3. Saintlinbern Beating Heart. Mrs K Friend Well boned bitch, unfortunately carrying far too much weight today which affected her movement. Head of good proportions and presented well. Mr N Goos Another well constructed bitch, good length to leg giving plenty of ground clearance. Sound mover covering the ground with ease. Well angled fore and after with good bone throughout. 3.
