  Pollard Canine Society

19th July 2025. Judge – Mrs A Geary

Thank you to the committee for allowing me the honour of judging at their Premier Open Show. Also thanks to my wonderful stewards, who clearly we couldn’t have shows without them giving up their time to support our dog shows. Biggest thank you to the exhibitors who entered under me and braved the typical English weather.

Bracco Italiano

Post Graduate (2,1)

1 Longman’s Callaiscroft Je Ne Sais Quoi, lovely chestnut male just 12 months old. Nicely proportioned boy who moved out well with his handler. Needs time to mature and become the finished article but pleased to award him RBOB over his father.

Open (4,2)

1 Bell’s Whitgun Renegade Master at Owlpoint JW ShCex OSW, have previously watched this boy from outside the ring. Pleased to get my hands on him and he didn’t disappoint. Stacked he looked a pleasure and moved out as one with his handler. Pleased to award him BOB

2 Longman’s Braccorion Quick Look of Callaiscroft, 6 year old strong powerful male.

Just preferred the overall shape and movement of my class winner.

Hungarian Vizsla

Post Graduate (3,1)

1 Layton’s Layways All About You, what a cracking young man, just shy of 8 months, but very much together for a baby. Lovely balanced shape in profile and moved out like a professional for his age. Shall watch this young man grow up with interest. Pleased to award him RBOB and BP

Open (3,1)

1 Bradley’s ShCh Highforce All or Nothing JW ShCexOSW, I have had the pleasure of judging this 4 year old male before. Delighted to see he has now gained his title in the ring, since I last judged him. Never lets his handler down, stacked looks a picture and didn’t disappoint on the move. Pleased to award him BOB

2 Layton’s Layways I Should be so Lucky, litter sister to my PG winner. My notes say such a pretty girl that I would like to take home. Not the confidence of her brother but having gone over her I am sure that will come. Once settled, the longer I watched her the more I liked her. I hope her owner does not give up on her as I am sure she will have a really bright future.

Pointer

Junior (1,1)

Post Graduate (6,3)

Hardest class of the day to judge, could have given out more first places and I am sure places will change regularly.

1 Dunn’s Meadowpoint Hocus Pocus JW, 20month L/W, built on elegant lines with an easy flowing movement. Balanced throughout and in good condition. RBOB and only beaten by her father in the challenge

2 Boultons’ Codnorhawk Starlight on Moreoldglen, Have had the pleasure of judging this lovely L/W 2 year old girl before. She has a lovely head, good length of neck, balanced throughout and moved with a free flowing action

3 Trueman’s Millpoint Bamburgh Boy

Open (6,2)

1 Sillence’s Davigdor Flanders Field, this 4 year old O/W male has a super head, balanced throughout although, for me, didn’t cover as much ground when stacked as some. Watching him move on the wet grass, I personally thought that both dog and handler were reserved in their movement, but I caught enough glimpses of a free flowing stride that I awarded him the class and BOB.

Will look out for him at future shows to watch his full potential

2 Bell’s Brent Deville’s Advocate at Owlspoint, 2 year old B/W male, nice head and balanced and moved well,

3 Dunn’s Caithpoint Kora at Meadowpoint

Weimarner

Junior (1,1)

Post Graduate (3,1).

1 Pilatova’s Sabsky Sasanka, 7 year old mature girl, nice head, good length of neck, good ribs. Strode out well with her handler to win the class and BOB

2 Brierley’s Tatze Lunacy 2 year old longhair girl, preferred the head of 1 and appeared to be out of coat. Moved well

Open (2,0)

1 Pilatova’s Sabsky Svratka JW, very nice 4 year old girl. Lovely pretty feminine head, good front, level top line held on the move. Good back end and correct tallest, gave a balanced picture. Moved out well with her handler

2 Brierley’sTatze Silver Solstice, lovely veteran longhair who was unfortunate to meet 1 today. She is a credit to her owner as she was put down in super condition. Moved as one with her handler. Was a little disappointed that the steward and I couldn’t find her for the RBOB challenge.
