One of the coldest days of the year and weather warning for the following days, but we are dog people and it was great to see the hall full for one of the first premier shows of the year. I would like to thank the committee for the invitation and the exhibitors for the entry. I was not able to stay to watch the groups because of the weather. However, I was pleased to hear how my BOB GSD got on. Congratulations it was a good day for you all. I was pleased with the overall standard for all exhibits, clean and well presented. Which is always appreciated. Thank you.

Dogue De Bordeaux    Puppy D/B (1,0), 1 Biggs, Harrison & Harrison, Miss, K., Mr. B. & Mrs. T., Cerisier Got To Have Faith: An 11mth old bitch. She has nice outline, with a good size head for her size, large and very feminine, strong neck. I particularly like her body shape and she had a good top-line. Neat angles front and rear. She was a bit un-steady to start when moving but was able to settle down to move correctly in the end. So, I was pleased to award her not only BP but also BOB. Well done.

Graduate D/B (1,0), 1 Kirk, Boswell, Kenyon & Kenyon, Mr. A., Ms. A., Mr. D., & Mrs. S., Desquire Halo on Fire: An 18mth old bitch with and impressive head and neck. But I felt she was not as sound as above. She has neat angles and huge muscles, but lacks overall soundness. She moved close behind and was bouncing around the ring. Which was a shame as I liked her head. But she has a weak top-line which unfortunately showed.

Open D/B (1,0),), 1 Kirk, Boswell, Kenyon & Kenyon, Mr. A., Ms. A., Mr. D., & Mrs. S., Desquire Halo on Fire: As above.

German Shepherd Dog    Puppy D/B (5,3), 1 Brown & Thomas, Miss H.A. & Mr. S.L., Swnynant Isadora: 11mth old siblings, the bitch heading up the class. Well grown for age, very nice shape, and out-line. She is very feminine, and has a well-balanced head, with good bite and tight lips. Nice planes and good eye colour. Head is still growing into her ears. Strong neck, neat angles and good brisket. Neat tuck up, strong back, good drop off on croup and strong muscled back end. Strong hocks which she used to good effect on the move. Nice and steady and walked well which was a pleasure to see. Pleased to award her BP. Was nicely handled.    2 Brown & Kearman, Miss H. & Mrs. S., Swnynant Icon: 11mth old dog. Litter brother to above, and has a lot of the same traits, it was nice to see 2 happy puppies. Just a little bigger as expected, and not quite as settled on the move. But really not a lot between them, and I suspect they will swop placed at times in the future.

Post Graduate D/B (3,0), 1 Brown & Thomas, Miss H.A. & Mr. S.L., Ardenburg Bix: 2yr old black dog with a rich red colour. He has a masculine head with dark eyes and neat ear-set. Good length of neck of good strength, good shoulder placement and deep brisket with plenty of bone, neat feet, nice tuck-up, strong loin. Good length of back, neat tail set, good angles to rear, neat hocks, moved out well.    2 Forman, Mr. A.J. & Mrs. S.P., Reyakosa Denzo For Suzdans: A 2yr old dog, a bit smaller that 1st and is of excellent type and out-line. Dark head and good eye, nicely balanced with good ear-set. Nice length of neck, good brisket. Plenty of bone. Feet were larger than 1st, neat tuck up, strong back. Good angles to rear, neat hocks. Moved well. Pity to come up against 1st.     3 Lemon, Mr. J. & Mrs. S., Solophina Floyd at Mitzahner: A 4yr old dog, of a heavier type. Well grown not quite in balance as 1st 2, which reflected in his movement. Not quite as sound. But he is pleasing enough.

Open D/B (4,1), 1 Banks, Ms. S. Lornstone Odebree: A 2yr old bitch. Took my eye straightaway. Very feminine head. She has a correct bite, tight lips, neat planes to head, dark eyes, correct ear-set. Good strong lengthy neck into excellent shoulders with good lay-back of shoulder. Good deep brisket and plenty of bone. Neat tuck up, good length of back, strong loin, good tail set and croup. Excellent angles to rear with plenty of muscle finished off with neat hocks. All in all, a very sound bitch of excellent type. Moved soundly around the ring pleased to award her BOB. Later went on to win Grp 3. Many congratulations.    2 Forman, Mr. A.J. & Mrs. S.P., Ch. Kintaro Grace Kelly With Suzdans: A top quality 4.5yr old bitch, worthy of her title. She is a little bigger than 1st and it was a shame to come up against 1st. Very feminine, with nice balanced head, good front assembly, preferred her top-line to 1st, strong back end, neat hocks, good strength through-out. Moved well, not quite as flowing as 1st and more than deserving her Res. BOB. Well Done.     3 Brown & Thomas, Miss H.A. & Mr. S.L., Swnynant Guiliana: A 4yr old bitch of good type and out-line. Not quite as sound as 1 and 2, but over-all a nice-looking bitch. She was well presented and handled well.
