City of Cambridge & County Canine Society

My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and the lovely warm welcome. A few absentees due to the forecasted adverse weather, but I was delighted to find quality across all breeds I judged today.

Special thanks to my super efficient stewards, Sue Osborn and Sally Pointon, you were greatly appreciated.

Border Collie

Presentation and temperaments excellent throughout and all had good dentition.

Puppy(1)

1. Smart As A Whip Danger Zone At Tambuzi (Imp ESP) (Dr A J Oliver)

Plenty of presence about this 9 month old boy. Liked him for type, size and the right amount of substance without a trace of coarseness. Masculine head with kind, dark well shaped eyes giving super expression.

Enough neck into matching angles all round with level top line and well set on tail. Sound away and back and displayed balanced side gait while holding a super outline with minimal lift. Excellent presentation and handling. Still plenty of maturing to do but one I will watch with interest

Congratulations, pleased to see him Pastoral Puppy Group 2

Junior (4, 1 abs)

1. Tambuzi Guess Who’s Back (Murfet & Oliver)

Gleaming coat and condition. Beautiful head and expression into good neck . Well laid back shoulder, level topline flowed into good croup and well set on tail of good length. Good front assembly with matching rear. Enough substance to her and appealed for flow and balance. Moved with super reach and drive with precise footfall and minimal lift. Had to settle for RBOB, but pleased to see her Group 3 in the RBOB group.

2. Kanamaren Road To Joy (Greening)

Another super type of girl with a beautiful feminine head and expression. Very similar comments apply, and another flowing outline both stood and moving. Particularly liked her side gait, light footed, minimal lift and plenty of reach and drive. Footfall not quite as precise and just lost out on maturity today, but another to watch with interest.

Postgraduate (1)

1. Tambuzi Guess Who’s Back (Murfet & Oliver)

    As junior

Open (2)

1. Kanamaren Take These Pearls(Greening)

A pleasure to judge this 5 yr old girl in her prime. Good breed type and of good substance. Correct head with intelligent eyes. Good, matching angulation with well laid back shoulder, level topline, good croup into well set tail. Good foot shape. Her movement could not be beaten today. Sound away and back.

Powerful side gait, that excelled in reach and drive with absolutely precise footfall, won her BOB today.

Pleased to see her Pastoral Group 2, congratulations

2. Total Recall at Real Pearl (Balan)

Attractive 14 month old boy. Beautifully marked blue merle. Top size with plenty of substance but not coarse. Good head proportions with good eye shape and colour but would prefer more fill of pigment on nose. Not quite the angles and flow of the winner. A little exuberant today and unfortunately did not lower his head and tail on the side gait today which spoilt his outline.

He was presented immaculately without a hair out of place and lovely muscle tone.

Rough Collie

Puppy

1. Wicani Belladona (Gatt)

Tri of just 9 months. More forward in development and displaying a super outline on the stand. In lovely condition and well muscled. Good wedge shaped head, with correct head planes, good eye set and well used correct ears. Good arch to neck into well laid shoulders. Well bodied with correct length and slight rise of loin. Pleasing hind angulation with parallel hocks with good tail set and of good length. Still needs to firm up in front, but good rear movement. Moved with good reach and drive with a light footed side gait. Super presentation and handling.

BOB and BP. Very pleased to see her Pastoral Puppy G1 and Pastoral G3

2. Seoirsin Shooting Star Via Caprioara (Corben)

Giving away a little in age to the winner and not quite as well developed or conditioned. Scored well for head and expression and nicely balanced body all through. Still needs to strengthen away and back but displayed steady side gait.

Junior (1, 1 abs)

Post Graduate (6, 4abs)

1. Imaganist Superior Sun (Gatt)

This 22 month old Sable in super condition was absolutely full

of himself. Loved his head and expression, beautiful shaped dark eyes and lovely head properties. Super arch to neck and topline correct when gone over with slight rise over loin. Decent tail set and length, good angles both front and back. Moved soundly with enthusiasm and power, but unfortunately losing topline both on side gait and stood, due to his over exuberance. He showed me just enough to award RBOB. Sympathetically handled!

RBOB and RBOB Group 4

2. Lizmark Diamonds Forever (Hull)

Feminine 4 yr old girl. Another with lovely head properties and expression. Pleasing outline on stand and moving. Not quite the condition 1st and footfall not as positive, but moved steadily

Open (2, 1abs)

1. Astromelias Ulises Via Caprioara (Imp esp)

7yr old sable. Good wedge head shape with nice eyes and expression. Matching front and rear angles, would like a little more condition. Kept a good topline on the move with a steady side gait and good rear movement away.

Smooth Collie

Puppy (2)

1. Breckamore’s Eye Catcher for Wizzizz ( Jefford)

Super pretty Tri girl. Good head shape and properties, correct ears. very feminine expression into arched neck of good length. Parallel front with good pasterns. The better front assembly then 2nd, and matching rear.

Came alive on the move with light footed free flowing side gait displaying super reach and drive to top this class

BP, RBOB

2. Blamorder Starstruck (Wensley)

Different type, stronger and well grown. Lovely eye and expression and good outline both on the stand and moving. Pleasing angulation a both fore and aft and moved freely. Preferred the front assembly of winner today, but also carrying a little more weight that I prefer which affected her profile movement.

Junior (2,2abs)

Post Graduate (2,1 abs)

1. Stormsett Snow Crystal (Corben & Glover)

7yr old girl with the kindest of expressions. Balanced head, good topline with matching angulation front and rear. Found the surface not to her liking today which affected her side gait.

Open (4, 3abs)

1. Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW (Wensley)

4 year old tri dog that oozed presence. Loved his attitude. Correct head, super eye shape and very well constructed all through. Powerful mover on all directions, sound away and back and a ground covering side gait showing super reach and drive.

BOB, pleased to see him Pastoral G4
