Shetland Sheepdog

PD/B (6,3)

1. Raaff’s Stormraven Shadoswift. 7 mth old sable bitch. Promising youngster who pleased for outline with well arched neck, firm topline, slope to croup and tail set low and of correct carriage. Feminine headpiece of good proportions, parallel planes, expressive dark eyes, flat cheeks and scissor bite. Stands straight on good feet and scored in this class in front action. She also pleased on the go around. Good texture to coat. BOB and Best Puppy.

2. Norris’ Ferngrove’s Code Blue. 9 mth old blue merle dog who was pleasing to go over. Sufficient length of neck, ribbing developing well, slope to croup and tail correct for length, set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head with flat skull, good eye and ear, flat cheeks and good underjaw. Moving well behind but winner had the edge on the go around. Good texture to coat and well handled.

3. Norris’ Croce Di Oro

1. Gruszka’s Achor’s Surprise Himalaya over Samphrey (Imp Che). 13 mth old blue merle bitch. This girl pleased for overall type and won this class on overall outline and profile action. Well arched neck of good length to balance, firm topline, correct slope to croup and tail set on low and of good length. Feminine head and expression with good proportions and planes, flat cheeks and scissor bite. She goes so well on the go around with excellent carriage but could be more positive when coming towards. Good coat.

2. Norris’ Ferngrove’s Code Blue

PGD/B (2,1)

1. Norris’ Sabema Mayfly at Ferngrove. 20 mth old sable bitch. Feminine throughout with neck of good length, pleasing topline, croup gradually sloping to tail of correct set and carriage but just a tad longer in loin. Head of good proportions with expressive eyes, very good ears and scissor bite. Stands on oval feet and moves out very well when viewed in profile and ok on the down and back. Good quality coat. Very well handled. Reserve BOB.

1. Leech’s Mileoak Dee Day Darling. 7 mth old white/black bitch who has lots to like. Carrying lovely bone she presented a nicely balanced outline with strong neck of good length, level topline, excellent ribbing for age, muscular loin and tail correct for length, set and carriage. Feminine head with breadth to skull, very good eye, muzzle of correct length to balance with good depth and scissor bite. Standing true in front on very good feet. Moving out well on the go around with good carriage. Reserve BOB and Best Puppy.

1. Leech’s Mileoak Utah Beach. 7 mth white/black dog who turned out to be the littermate to the previous class winner. All male carrying very good bone. Muscular neck, firm topline, deep brisket, broad loin and tail correct for set and carriage. Masculine head with broad skull, dark expressive eyes, muzzle of correct length and scissor bite. Pleasing front assembly and stands on very good feet. Opens up well when viewed in profile.

2. Stanton & Latham’s Mileoak Hocus Pocus. 14 mth old black bitch. Feminine throughout but not quite as compact in outline as the winner. She has a good neck, is nice and firm in topline, pleasing rib and tail is correct for length, set and carriage. Skull of good breadth, dark eyes, ears set well back but not quite as clean in head as 1. She stands nice and straight in front on good feet and moved out well enough. Well handled.

1. Constable’s Valhalabears Just In Time. 2 yr old brown bitch. Feminine all through and pleasing to go over. Muscular neck, firm topline but a tad more length to body, deep brisket, strong loin and tail good for length and carriage. She has breadth to skull, clean eyes which blend with coat colour, ears set well back, muzzle of correct length to balance and good dentition. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands well naturally on good feet. Goes well when viewed in profile and nice firm hind action. BOB.

Cairn Terrier

1. Munday’s Furythor Reluctant Villain. 13 mth old brindle dog. At the teenager stage right now but he was pleasing to go over. Neck of correct length to balance, level back, good length to ribcage and tail just right for set and carriage. Good breadth to skull, eyes of good colour, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. He stands on good feet and when gaiting he moves out well when viewed in profile, is true when going away and more than good enough coming towards. Good texture to jacket. Reserve BOB.

1. Sinclair & Tothill’s Tycadno Quick Shot. 21 mth old wheaten dog. Neck of correct length to give balance, nice and firm in topline and tail set on ok. He has sufficient breadth to skull, definite stop, good ears and nice dark eyes. Would like to see more spring of rib, hopefully time will help in this department. Stands on good feet. Could open up more on the go around. Good quality jacket and well handled here.

1. Munday’s Furythor Marvel At Me. 2 yr old brindle bitch. Although a smidge longer, this girl pleased for type and was very well constructed. Good neck, well sprung ribs, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Quality head with delightful expression; breadth to skull, good stop, dark eyes placed well apart, good ears and scissor bite. Well made both front and rear and standing on very good feet. Excellent front action and goes so well on the go around. Harsh jacket. BOB.

2. Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior. 4 yr old brindle dog. Showy lad who pleased in outline with neck of good length to balance, firm topline, pleasing rib and tail set on well enough. Masculine head with broad skull, definite stop, good eye and ear and strength to muzzle. Goes well on the down and back but winner had the edge on the go around. Presented with super muscle-tone.

AVNSC Terrier

1. Dragon & Tate’s Casahasabi Poster Paint. 11 mth old wheaten Norwich Terrier bitch. Lovely pup who showed herself off at all times and was full of confidence. Carrying good bone and substance, she presented a lovely outline with neck of correct length to balance, short level back, good length to ribcage and tail set on high. Feminine headpiece of good proportions, expressive eyes and correct dentition. Moves out well with excellent carriage. Good jacket. Best Puppy AVNSC and later Puppy Group 2.

2. Burrage’s Lojza Garex (Imp Cze). 6 mth old Cesky Terrier dog. Somewhat unsettled in this class and I understand this was his first show. He pleased for type and presented a nice outline with elegant neck of good length, correct topline, ribbed well back and tail of correct set. Pleasing head with slight arch to skull, expressive eyes of good colour and scissor bite. Good angles both ends and displayed propulsive gait of the breed. Went much better later on in AV Puppy where he came out on top.

1. Edington-Hall & Ballinger’s Est Etiam Novus Angelus mit Wendaire (Imp Ukr). Two very pleasing exhibits challenged here with the nod going to this 14 mth old Airedale Terrier dog. Promising youngster who presented a very nice outline with muscular neck of good length to give balance, short level back, good depth to brisket, firm loin and tail on nice and high. Well proportioned head with flat skull, good eye and ear, clean cheeks, powerful jaws and good dentition. Carrying good bone and moving freely all through. Harsh jacket.

2. Wilson, Wilson & Dixon’s Chatterdale Clear Star. 14 mth old Scottish Terrier bitch who was close up here. I thought her so good for overall type and outline and she carries super bone. Well-muscled neck of correct length, firm topline, muscular loin and good tail for set and carriage. Feminine head with good length, dark almond-shaped eyes of correct placement, ears good for size and set, strong foreface and scissor bite. Moving well when settled and particularly impressed coming towards. Jacket of good texture and very well presented.

1. Edington-Hall & Ballinger’s Est Etiam Novus Angelus mit Wendaire (Imp Ukr)

2. Wilson’s Charlilymae Funshine Jovi of Bonnyness. 3 yr old Scottish Terrier bitch. This girl pleased for bone and substance but is a tad longer cast. Muscular neck of moderate length, pleasing rib and tail correct for both set and carriage. Attractive head with dark expressive eyes, ears set on well, powerful muzzle and correct dentition. Goes well on the down and back but could open up more on the go around. Pleasing texture to jacket.

1. Burrage’s Komidion Sonata for Sametova JW. Good class with all 3 exhibits pleasing. This 3 yr old Cesky Terrier bitch was my winner. Feminine throughout she pleased for type and presented such a good outline with elegant neck of correct length to balance, characteristic breed topline, well sprung ribs, muscular loin and good tail for both set and carriage. Most attractive head with super eye and ear, correct stop and scissor bite. Good angles both ends and when gaiting has the desired propulsive gait of the breed although at times a little too enthusiastic. Well presented. Best AVNSC Terrier and later Group 4.

2. McCracken’s Carisco Myrtle Beach to Amawyn. 2 yr old brindle Scottish Terrier bitch. One I did very well for as a puppy and still with so much to like. Feminine all through, carrying good bone and presenting a super outline. Muscular neck, lovely ribbing, well-muscled loin and tail set on well. Well proportioned, feminine head and expression with good eye and ear, powerful foreface and correct dentition. She stands with desired width in front and has good breadth to thighs. Shows so well and didn’t disappoint when gaiting. Excellent jacket.

2. Funnell’s Powerpack Euphoria. 10 mth old black brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier bitch. Nicely balanced pup with correct length of neck, firm topline and rib developing well for age. Feminine head with good breadth to skull, distinct stop, lovely dark expressive eyes, rose ears and short powerful muzzle. She stands with good width in front and moved well all through.

3. Jordan-Smith’s Jordith Serenella

2. Gwilliam’s Louajak Blue Fizz. 16 mth old Border Terrier bitch. Good length of neck to balance, firm topline and tail of good carriage but croup slopes off a tad. Feminine head and expression with pleasing eye, good dentition and nice furnishings. Standing true in front on good feet and has pleasing angles behind. Moving freely on the down and back.

1. Gwilliam’s Ragatam Isla at Louajak. 2 yr old Border Terrier bitch. Balanced girl with good length of neck, firm topline and tail correct for set and carriage. Pleasing head with feminine expression; good breadth to skull, dark eyes, ears set well and scissor bite. Nice straight forelegs, well padded feet and correct rear angulation. Goes well fore and aft and ok on the go around. Tad more ribbing than preferred.

2. Amel-Azizpour’s Crofftysofty Hay Judge. 20 mth old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier dog. Carrying good bone and compact in outline with slightly arched neck and firm topline. Head of pleasing proportions with flat skull, well defined stop and good dentition. Moves pretty well on the down and back but would have liked a longer stride when viewed in profile.

1. Burrage’s Ch Komidion Prima Donna of Sametova ShCEx VW. 8 yr old Cesky Terrier bitch. Quality girl who was so good to go over. Of excellent type and presenting such a good outline with elegantly arched neck, correct topline of the breed, super ribbing, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Attractive head, full of femininity, best of eyes and ears and correct dentition. Carrying good bone, she is well constructed both ends and certainly didn’t disappoint when gaiting; true when coming and going and moving out with propulsive action and excellent carriage.

2. Edington-Hall’s Wendaire Kissed By An Angel JW ShCM ShCEx VW. 9 yr old Airedale Terrier bitch. Feminine throughout and carrying good bone, this girl has so much to like, is full of animation and presented here in super condition. Muscular neck of good length to balance, short back but topline could be firmer, good depth to chest and tail set on high. Well proportioned head with flat skull, expressive eyes of good colour, ears set slightly above level of skull, powerful jaws and good dentition. Nice straight forelegs and standing on good feet. Moves true fore and aft.

3. Funnell’s Powerpack Alura Finvarra JW

1. Gale’s Calvenace Shake Your Grove. 8 mth old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier dog. Most promising youngster who was a pleasure to go over given his correct construction. He presented a compact outline, carries good bone and was shown in first class order. Slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, level topline, good length to ribcage with rib developing as it should for age and short in the couplings. Nicely proportioned head with flat skull, expressive eyes, strong jaws and scissor bite. Stands well naturally and moves out with lovely length of stride.

2. Warner’s Ch Talanors Time For Fun ShCEx. 6 yr old Manchester Terrier dog. All male yet with the desired elegance of the breed and compact in outline. Neck of good length with slight arch, short back, good spring of rib, correct underline and tail pleased for set and carriage. He has good length to his flat skull, almond-shaped eyes, pleasing ears and good dentition. Nicely angulated front and rear and stands on correct feet. Pleasing action all through.

3. Tate, Dragon & Sabharish’s Tomgram Patricia Jaeva. 20 mth old Jack Russell Terrier bitch. Quality girl who was good hands on and presented a lovely outline. Nice strong neck, super topline, easily spanned, ribbing extends well back, short loin and tail set on high. Attractive head, full of femininity with keen expression; moderate breadth to her flat skull, good eye and ear, strong muzzle and good dentition. Soundly constructed all through and moved out freely with good carriage. Just lacking a tad in jacket on the day.

3. Funnell’s Powerpack Jack In The Box. 10 mth old black brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog. This youngster impressed for overall outline and is well off for bone. Nicely balanced with muscular neck of correct length, firm topline, excellent rib for age, short well-muscled loin and tail set on low and of good carriage. He stands with good width in front and has pleasing angles both ends. Moves out well in profile with drive from the hindquarters.

4. Dolman’s Bisquit VD Bismarckquelle Taf. 6 mth old Smooth Fox Terrier bitch. Only a baby but showing much promise and making the most of herself at all times. She pleased for overall type and presented a very nice outline. Muscular neck of good length, short back with level topline, rib developing well, short loin and tail set on as it should be. Feminine headpiece with flat skull, minimal stop, dark expressive eyes, strength to muzzle and good dentition. Pleasing angles and action.

AV Vulnerable Native Breeds

1. Davies-Brown’s Blamorder I Dreamed A Dream at Wystry. 7 mth old tricolour Smooth Collie bitch. This pup pleased in outline with nicely arched neck of correct length to balance, level back, good length to ribcage and tail correct for length, set and carriage. Balanced headpiece with feminine expression, dark eyes, ears of good placement and clean through the cheeks. Stands true in front on good feet and good turn of stifle. Pleasing profile action.

1. Warner’s Ch Talanors Time For Fun ShCEx. Best Vulnerable Native Breed.

2. Francis, Blatchford & Leonard’s Witchstone Trouble Brewing at Peopleton JW. 2 yr old English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan) bitch. Compact girl with elegance of the breed. Excellent neck, correct topline, ribs well sprung and carried well back, short loin and tail set on low. Attractive head with feminine expression; good eye and ear and correct dentition. Moving well on the go around. Lovely rich tan.

3. Wilkinson-Sargeant’s Phenset Firestorm
