1. Veal’s Philoma Encanto. 21 mth old black bitch. Solidly built girl, well boned and presenting a good outline. Excellent neck, firm topline which slopes slightly towards the rear, deep brisket, good length to ribcage, muscular loin and tail set on high and of good carriage. Attractive headpiece with flat skull of moderate breadth, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set high, strength to muzzle and correct dentition. Pleasing angles both ends and she stands true in front on excellent feet and is well developed in forechest. Gaiting freely on the down and back and pleased on the go around too. Very well handled.
OD/B (6,0)
A fabulous class which was an absolute pleasure to judge!
1. Cullen’s Ch Sir Constantine De Barba Negra at Philoma (Imp FCA). 2 yr old black dog. Quality lad who was a delight to go over. He presented a super outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to give balance, firm topline sloping slightly towards the croup, well sprung ribs which are carried well back, good depth to chest, short well-muscled loin and tail set on high. Quality head with masculine expression; moderately broad flat skull, dark oval-shaped eyes, correct planes and powerful muzzle. Well laid shoulders, elbows close to the body and straight, well-boned forelegs. Accurate on the down and back and opens up well on the go around with excellent carriage. Quality coat and presentation. BOB.
2. Cullen’s Ch Philoma One Night Only. 4 yr old black dog out of a larger mould than the winner. All male, he carries super bone and was another with such a good outline. Excellent neck which flows smoothly into well laid shoulders, firm through the topline, brisket reaching the elbows, ribbing extends well back, muscular loin and tail good for set and carriage. Masculine head with excellent skull, oval-shaped eyes of good colour, ears set on high, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. He stands nice and straight in front and has a super forechest. On the move, he was nice and free when coming and going and also pleased on the go around but the winner just had the edge. Reserve BOB.
3. Veal’s Ch Philoma Midnight Sun
Great Dane

1. Wright & Cranfield’s Zefather’s Two Faces with Irieusdane. 8 mth old fawn dog. Most promising youngster who appealed for type and presented a super outline. Well arched neck of good length, firm through the topline, good depth of chest, strong loin, correct croup and tail good for both set and carriage. Balanced headpiece with flat skull, ears set on high, excellent eyes, good planes and clean underline. Pleasing angles front and rear and he stands well in front on very good feet and forechest is developing well for age. When gaiting, he opens up well on the go around and carries himself well. Best Puppy and I understand he later took Puppy Group 3.
2. Cranfield & Wright’s Zefather’s Gossip Girl with Irieusdane. Fawn bitch of 8 mths who turned out to be the litter sister to the winner. Feminine all through, she also pleased in outline. Good length of neck, firm topline, deep brisket, pleasing rib development, well-muscled loin and tail of correct carriage. Well proportioned head with good length, super expressive eyes, clean through the cheeks and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation front and rear and she has a good forechest for age. Moving freely on the down and back and goes well on the go around but her brother just opened up that bit more.

SYD/B (2,1)
1. Spackman’s Novavida Norseman Warrior (AI). 13 mth old brindle dog. Well marked lad of good size and carrying strong bone. Nicely arched neck of good length, firm in topline, good depth to brisket, pleasing rib development, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Masculine head and expression; flat skull, pleasing eye and ear, parallel planes and scissor bite. He stands well in front and has good feet but would like to see more angulation both ends. Pleasing action coming and going but could open up more on the go around. Well handled.
PGD/B (3,1)
Two very different dogs challenged in this class.
1. Spackman’s Novavida Norseman Warrior (AI)
2. Bielecka’s Amerikano Ataraksja In Alergiagiant (Imp Pol). 12 mth old harlequin dog who was rather excitable. He is good for size and carries strong bone. Neck of good length, topline pretty good, deep in brisket, pleasing rib, correct croup and tail set and carried just as it should be. Head of pleasing proportions but somewhat overdone for my preference; flat skull, more stop than the standard calls for and untidy underline. He needs to develop in forechest which hopefully will help his front action but he actually opened up more than the winner on the go around.
OD/B (3,1)
Two 3 yr old fawns competed in this class who turned out to be littermates.
1.Cranfield’s Ch Zefather’s Ralph Lauren JW ShCEx OSW. This dog was my winner and what an impressive lad he is! Good angles front and rear and he stands true in front on excellent feet and is very well developed in forechest. When gaiting, he was so good on the down and back and covered the ground when viewed in profile and he has excellent carriage. BOB and thrilled that he went all the way through to Best in Show at the end of the day.
2. Cranfield’s Ch Zefather’s Kind of Magic JW. Full of femininity, this girl was so good hands on although not totally settled on the day. She has an excellent length of neck, firm topline, well sprung ribs, brisket reaches the elbows, correct underline, well-muscled loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Attractive head and expression with impression of great length, parallel planes, nice dark eyes, ears set on high, clean through the cheeks and scissor bite. Standing nice and straight in front on good feet and well developed in forechest. On the move she went well fore and aft but her brother had the edge, although on the go around she really did impress. Reserve BOB.
