GOLDEN RETRIEVER

Well…these puppies didn’t think much of this equestrian centre floor and they really didn’t want to move which made evaluating them pretty impossible!

1st Rhodes Mr P SCARISBRICK SHOWDOWN BY ASHROSE, Mid gold boy of 6 months. Nice head properties and masculinity for age. Kind eye, deepening chest and level topline. Appeared like he was a little loose in front at present but he eventually did get a little movement going.

2nd Lowther Mrs N & Mr I VERA'S MYSTERY AT EVENMINT, Pale cream girl, also 6 months, really liked her type but she just didn’t get it together on the move. Such a pretty head with good topline and coat. She appeared happy and kind and looked balanced. I’m sure in time she’ll become more experienced and learn to settle and do well.

1st Sanderson Mrs J ORLAGOLD GLAMOUR GIRL, Cream bitch of 11 months of age. Pretty, balanced head with kind eyes. She has good width through the chest and strong bone to ok feet. Well laid back shoulders with level topline and straight coat. Did occasionally fly tail slightly. Neat movement. BP

2nd Forrest Mrs L & Mr A ORLAGOLD MAJOR TOM, Masculine pale coloured boy of 11 months. He has dark pigment and a kind eye. Good topline and double coat but did fly tail. He has good bone but he didn’t stand his front legs parallel and I’d prefer a bit more drive in his movement.

1st Buckles Dr LK BRAZENBEACON ARTEMIS, 2nd Junior

2nd Rhodes Mr P KENZDUO HONEY AMETHYST AT ASHROSE, Masculine dark dog with black pigment. Abundant in coat. This boy had a kind eye and well held ears. He carried a lot of bone leading to tight feet and tended to turn them out when standing. He had a nice bend of stifle and level topline but did tend to fly his tail on the move.

L (2 Entries, 0 Absent)

1st Williams Mrs M & Miss EL AURISTELA LADY LUCK AT LAMHRYN, Pale cream bitch, didn’t she sparkle today! She looked so feminine standing in profile. Such a pretty head with angulation fore and aft. Such a lovely neck into her topline, showing her forechest with her legs underneath her where they should be. Nice spring to ribcage and everything just in the right place. Movement had lovely drive. BOB

2nd Buckles Dr LK BRAZENBEACON ARTEMIS, 2nd Junior

1st Morriss-Garget Mrs F & Morriss Mr P GOLDMARKER COMING HOME TO GARVIN (AI) JW, Upstanding, powerful boy in mid gold. Masculine, kind head. Good coat but dropping it. Good bone to cat like feet. Really motored on his movement and held his tail correctly.

2nd Buckles Dr LK BERRYMEADE BRITTAS BAY FOR BRAZENBEACON, Mid gold bitch at 5 years old who makes a nice outline. Has adequate bone and very well muscled. Would prefer rounder feet. Carrying a nice coat.

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Puppy (2,0)

1. Knowles – Menstonia Endless Mist, I thought she was balanced and compact showing good bone and overall proportions in profile. Her head was feminine and had lovely chiselling under her dark eyes. Ears set low and tapering. Neck strong and well set in to topline which had slight rise over the loin. Straight front legs and well muscled throughout for one so young and moved well. BP, BOB and from my fellow judge BPIS.

2. Knowles – Menstonia Endurance, Litter brother to 1 and where she was feminine he was masculine, however, I felt he was starting to go into the rangy stage and he wasn’t quite as compact all through, nevertheless a nice boy, although he did try to move on two legs instead of four! RBOB

Junior (2,0)
