I would like to thank the Officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge male Golden Retrievers. 

I was delighted by the overall quality of the dogs and would like to thank the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs for me to assess, and accepting my decisions in a very sporting manner. Temperament was excellent as I would expect, coats were generally well presented in clean condition. My only concern was that a good proportion of my entry was in soft muscular condition which reflected in poor movement and affected my decisions in some classes. 

Finally a huge ‘Thank You’ to my 2 stewards, Ladies you made my job so much easier by keeping the ring running smoothly all day.

1ST 2936 - Trubliss Do It My Way (Ms A Salceanu) Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Breed.

 Quality puppy who greatly appealed for his breed type and overall balance. Loveliest of heads with soft expression. Good length of neck into correct shoulders and upper arm. Straight front with strong bone. Very well balanced with level topline, strong quarters which he used to give sound stylish movement. Shown in hard condition but sporting his summer attire today, which only accentuated his good conformation and balance. 

2ND 2846 - Navilis Shchedryk (Imp Ukr) JW (Mrs J Gerhold)

 Close up to 1 and another quality puppy making his handler work a little today. Lovely head and soft expression, correct neck with good front angulation, strong bone, well ribbed body with level topline, strong quarters giving sound movement, in lovely coat and condition. 

Two very promising puppies who I’m sure have a very bright future.

 Mid gold youngster, good head and expression, good neck and front, balanced body with level topline, in good coat but needs to develop in his rear quarters which reflected in his movement not being as positive as I would like.

2ND 2917 - It Takes Two Anarchia Box Wondertemple (Imp Pol) (Mr M Pietrykowski)

 Cream youngster, with good head and soft expression, good neck and shoulders but would prefer a little more upper arm length and angulation, well balanced in body with level topline, shown in good coat and condition, needs to develop in rear quarters to give more positive movement.

 Quality youngster who I have admired from ringside and did not disappoint upon examination, most lovely type with beautiful masculine head and softest expression, excels in overall balance with correct front and rear angulation, strong bone with good feet, well ribbed body with level topline which he held on the move, well developed quarters which gave very sound ground covering movement, shown in lovely coat and hard condition. Pushed hard for top honours.

 Quality youngster with lovely head and expression, good neck into correct front angulation, good bone, well balanced in body with level topline, good quarters, in good coat and condition, sound in movement.

 Quality male of most lovely type, headed a strong class, most lovely masculine head and gentle expression, so very well balanced with no exaggerations, strong bone, strong neck of good length into shoulders and upper arm of correct proportions, well ribbed body with level topline, his strong well developed quarters gave for sound positive movement. In hard condition but unfortunately in his summer attire today. 

2ND 2795 - Bermary Captain Hastings JW (Miss B M & Mr N P Baxter & Riley)

 A quality male who appealed for his overall balance, masculine head with soft gentle expression, strong bone with good length of neck and correct front angulation. Deep well sprung ribs, level topline, well developed strong quarters which he used to move out well covering the ground with ease. In full coat and hard condition.

 A super quality male who I have long admired from ringside and did not disappoint on examination, most beautiful type with masculine head and softest expression with no coarseness, dark pigment, strong bone with good feet, so beautifully balanced with correct front and rear angulation. Good length of neck flows into firm level topline. So very well balanced deep ribbed body with strong short loin. Strong well muscled quarters with short hocks giving stylish strong ground covering movement. Expertly handled in beautiful full coat and hard condition.

 Another quality young male who I have also admired from ringside. Most lovely type who appealed for his overall balance, lovely masculine head with soft expression with no coarseness, dark pigment, strong bone with good feet. excels in neck and front angulation with his legs well set under his body, deep well ribbed body with firm level topline and good tailset. Strong well developed quarters with short hocks which he used to give sound stylish movement. Beautifully presented in full coat and hard condition.
