Breed: Cesky Terrier

Boston and District Championship show

5th July 2026

I was thrilled to be given this judging appointment which was my first CC appointment. I would like to thank my stewards for their efficiency, to the committee for giving me this opportunity and to the exhibitors for their entries and acceptance of the placings. I enjoyed my day and was impressed at the quality of the exhibits, a few of my placings were down to movement.

Yearling Dog

1ST Richardson and Wilson’s Alchemy Like A Hurricane (Imp Can) RCC

18 month old with a happy disposition. Pleasing head, with a slightly arched skull and a slight yet distinct stop. High set ears, strong jaws with the correct dentition. Good front, typical topline with a good rise over the loin. Well muscled hindquarters which he used to move with drive around the ring. I would prefer a slightly lower tailset. An exciting youngster who I am sure will get his title in the future.

Open Dog

1ST Tobijanski’s Ch Janski O'rolox JW CC and BOB.

One I have judged before, he impressed me then and it is nice to see that he continued to do that today. 4 years old. I found him to be the best mover of the day, brisk and vigorous. On first look, he is most definitely a dog but in no way exaggerated or overdone. Good head with the correct planes, well set ears and dark eye, friendly expression. Elegant neck into well placed shoulders, straight forelimbs and good feet. Typical topline which he maintained on the move. Presented in excellent condition and handled well. Happy to award him the CC and BOB .

2ND Burrages’ Ch Sametova Bacary ShCEx

Smaller styled male, a shade shorter than 1st. he continues to be a brisk mover, today just not as settled on the move as I have previously seen him. Well muscled and angulated. Masculine head with good ear set and size, nice dark eye and strong jaws. Overall nice breed type and balanced.

3RD Fewing’s Komidion Schubert

Veteran Dog

1ST Dukes and Rodger’s Janski Theodore by Runiks

8 year old to size dog. Masculine and strong in appearance. Lovely head with the correct planes, well set ear held close to his cheeks and nice dark eye, giving a friendly expression. Good front, well maintained topline and strong hindquarters. Good for bone and presented in good condition. Certainly not acting his age, which was nice to see him enjoy himself. Moved enthusiastically around the ring.

Puppy Bitch

1ST Burrages’ Galbraith Galaneia Sametova (Imp Fin) BPIB and shortlisted in the puppy group

9 month old bitch, stood alone but was a worthy best puppy in breed. A very confident youngster who had a lot to say for herself. Pretty feminine head, good eye and ear placement and good jaw. Elegant neck into well placed shoulders, neat front and good feet. Lovely outline and correct tailset and carriage. Moved well. An exciting addition to this kennel and I look forward to seeing how she matures. Delighted to see that she was shortlisted in a hotly contested puppy group.

Junior Bitch

1ST Burrages’ Galbraith Galaneia Sametova (Imp Fin)

Yearling Bitch

1ST Goodwin’s Bleuetopia Arsha RCC

18 month old pretty bitch who epitomises the phrase “very agile working terrier”, good head on an elegant yet muscular neck. Strong front, ample bone, straight forelegs and free moving elbows. Muscular well placed shoulders, good topline and well muscled and angulated hind. She moved briskly and efficiently. She is still young and has some maturing to do but an exciting prospect and one I will be watching with interest.

Post Graduate Bitch

1ST Fairfield’s Janski Zelda

2 year old, lovely feminine head with dark eye. A little heavier set but balanced overall. A bit unsettled on the move. Good topline, good muscle and correct angulation. Good tail set, carried well.

3 year old slightly heavier set bitch, correct for size. Clean head with well set ears held close to cheek. Elegant neck, good front and the breed typical topline. Well angulated and muscled hind. Correct tail set and carriage, ensuring a nice complete outline. Moved well and handled well.

2ND Dukes and Rodger’s Runiks Akreepa of Dragons

5 year old, good dark eye, well set neat ears, slightly arched skull. Clean neck, good front and feet. Muscular loin and well-muscled hindend. Moved well, unfortunate to come against 1st. Presented in good coat.

3RD Burrages’ Komidion Sonata for Sametova JW

Veteran Bitch

1ST Burrages’ Ch Komidion Prima Donna of Sametova ShCEx VW BVIB and Veteran Group 3

9 year old who does not act over move like her age, proving that age is just a number in this breed. Slightly heavier style bitch who has a feminine head, strong jaw. Straight front with free moving elbows. Good topline and tail set. Well angulated hindquarters. Coat in excellent condition and handled well. She powered around the ring, demonstrating the typical cesky brisk movement. Delighted to see her go onto veteran group 3.

2ND Dukes and Rodgers’ Ch Placido Musical Miracle at Runiks

Another who has previously done well under me, today I felt she wasn’t as balanced on the move as 1st, but I am sure these two would swap places on another day. Elegant slightly arched skull, good eye and well set ears. Strong neck on well muscled shoulders. Typical topline, good angulation and presented in fantastic coat.
