My grateful thanks go to the officers and committee for inviting me to award my first set of CCs in this beautiful breed at this very well run show on one of the finest showgrounds on the circuit. Thank you to the exhibitors for seeking my opinion and no matter what that was you all took the best dog home.

1ST 1067 - Moontorn Drops of Jupiter with Fecimus (Miss A & Mr J & Miss A Macbain & Harrison & Bellamy). What a start to the day. He is a super boy and so well balanced with a fabulous well chiselled head showing the desired fluting. On the stack he is impressive with a good reach of neck, well laid shoulders with plenty of dog in front, a firm topline and strong quarters with well developed second thigh. His movement is terrific showing plenty of reach and drive. He is racy, full of quality and so very confident. Extremely well handled to take the RCC.

1ST 1075 - Petranella Strike It Lucky (Ms C P Savell). Handsome well balanced head with a defined stop and low set well feathered ears. Good front assembly but needs more fill in front. Holds a firm topline and has a very well set tail which he used to advantage. Very good profile movement but not as positive out and back.

1ST 1077 - Chanangel Yorkshire Ale with Bethersden JW (Mr G & Mrs S Tolladay). A cracking young dog who in profile flows from nose to tail. He has the desired raciness about him, is totally balanced, compact, strong and very merry. His head is very handsome and balanced with lovely fluting and chiselling and a very clean back skull. His dark almond shaped eyes looked right into my soul. His neck is strong and muscular and fits cleanly into his well laid shoulders. He is deep in brisket, well ribbed up and has firm and slightly arched loins. Hindquarters are wide and powerful with stifles and hocks moderately bent. He was turned out to perfection and moved with panache showing a clean pair of heels and lashing his tail. In the challenge he upped his game even more to storm his way to the CC. A terrific dog who has lots more to give in the future.

Masculine head, dark oval eyes, clear chiselling and fluting, low set ears, good length of neck which is well muscled and slightly arched. A tendency to be loose at the hocks on the move when going away. Well handled.

1ST 1056 - Sh Ch Elazlan Billy Kimber (Mrs C Darling). He is full of breed type and has a very handsome head with the loveliest expression enhanced by the exquisite chiselling under his eyes and clear fluting. Well laid shoulders, straight well boned forelegs finished off with the very best of feet. Compact body, firm topline, well coupled, excellent tail set. Moved with a terrific tail action but I felt he was not giving his all.

1ST 1088 - Cobhay Dashing Dandelion JW (Mrs J, Mrs D & Miss P Williams & Toublic). A very decent sort. His head is balanced muzzle to skull but I would prefer it a tad less broad. Loved his big nose and low set well feathered ears that frame his head beautifully. Presented in good coat and condition and moved well.

1ST 1084 - Moontorn Dare to Dream with Dexbenella (Mrs Wm & Mr Sp & Miss A Walker & Walker & Bellamy). Presents a compact and balanced outline and has a beautifully chiselled head with a soft expression and strong muzzle. Lovely baby who is certainly very merry.

1ST 1052 - Calvdale Lizzie Stark (Mr & Mrs M Calvert). An exquisite exhibit with such a devoted expression. She has a muzzle of good depth and width, with a well-defined stop and lovely chiselling. Particularly pleasing through the neck and shoulders, she is so cleanly made, with a terrific prosternum and excellent return of upper arm giving plenty of dog in front. Well boned throughout, she retains a racy, athletic outline, complemented by broad, well-developed quarters. Her richly coloured coat is soft and silky and presented in the highest order. In the challenge she carried herself so well and moved with a typical ESS gait to win the RCC and BPIB.

1ST 1069 - Sieger's She's A Classic for Wythnick (Imp Dan) (Mr L & Miss A & Mrs D Nicklin & Bellamy & Nicklin). Another gorgeous girl who has the desired racy outlook. Reachy neck flows cleanly into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, good couplings, low set tail, wide thighs. Loved her tight feet. Her head is so very beautiful and her expression to die for. I could have looked into those dark expressive eyes all day. Whilst she moves very well her tail carriage let her down in the challenge. A bitch full of quality and style.
2ND 1074 - Petranella Strike A Pose (Ms C P Savell). A lovely girl who is of excellent type presenting a strong and balanced outline with impressive angulation. Compact and very well muscled throughout. Her head is lovely but I preferred the depth of muzzle of the winner. She has a beautiful arched neck giving her such elegance, clean well laid shoulders, strong quarters with well developed second thighs. Moved very well.

2ND 1058 - Annavah Ablaze (Miss L & Mrs P & Mrs A Havard & Havard & Corbett) A lovely bitch full of breed type and beautifully presented. Well off for bone and substance, well sprung ribs and wide thighs. I just preferred the skull shape of the winner. Moved with reach and drive holding her shape well.

1ST 1081 - Allenies Lady Marmalade (Miss J A Unwin). This girl is very well constructed and spoiled herself today by carrying a little too much weight. She is lovely to go over as every bit of her flows into the next, her body is taut and well muscled and her quarters are well developed and well let down. Her skull is fairly broad and well developed with defined stop and low set ears. Moved well going away but not as tight as it should be coming to.
498. Spaniel (English Springer) - Limit Bitch

1ST 1068 - Daenerys Girl On Fire at Dexbenella JW (Mr L E Nicklin). I liked her for size and shape and her racy, elegant outlook. Her head is lovely and the arch to her neck adds to her elegance. Very well made front assembly, well off for bone, tight feet and wide thighs. Good tail set and very well presented. Covered plenty of ground on the move.
2ND 1076 - Petranella Tipping The Wink JW (Ms C P Savell). She is very well constructed and has plenty of bone and substance. She has a pleasing head but I preferred that of the winner. Her movement is truly ESS swinging from the shoulder with good drive from behind.

1ST 1055 - Sh Ch Trimere Time Flys (Mrs A Corbett). An outstanding English Springer Spaniel bitch who, on the day could not be denied. She is the very epitome of the breed, combining true type, balance and quality in a picture of near perfection. So beautifully constructed throughout, she presents a harmonious outline with every part flowing seamlessly into the next. Her head is a delight—feminine yet fairly broad, with correct proportions, well-defined stop, and a soft, melting expression enhanced by correctly set, well-feathered ears and dark, expressive eyes. She carries a clean, slightly arched neck into well-laid shoulders, with excellent return of upper arm, giving her the correct forehand assembly so essential to the breed. Her body is compact and well ribbed, with depth carried well back to a firm, muscular loin. She stands on good bone with tight, well-padded feet, and her quarters are broad and powerful, with well-developed thighs and correct angulation. Her topline remains firm and level both standing and on the move, flowing into a well-set tail, carried correctly and used to advantage. On the move, she is simply a joy to watch—forelegs swinging from the shoulder covering the ground with effortless reach and drive, maintaining her balance and outline at all times. True both coming and going, she displays the soundness and athleticism required of a working gundog. Presented in immaculate coat and condition, she excels in breed type, construction, and movement. A bitch of exceptional merit who fully deserves her accolades. Delighted to award her the CC, BOB, and to see her go on to a well-earned Gundog Group 1.
2ND 1054 - Sieger’s See Eye to Eye with Trimere (Imp Dk) NAF (Mrs A Corbett). Another very lovely girl who has a beautiful head, reachy neck and wide thighs. She has a soft and silky coat with just the right amount of feathering. Not as positive behind as the winner.
