1ST 45 - Cloudside Black Hawk (Mr W Moore)

Black and tan male of lovely proportions, I loved his head and expression which is set off by his rich tan markings, good eye shape, correct dentition, good under jaw. Good neck into well laid shoulder, angles are balanced both fore and aft, level top line, good depth of chest, still to fill in front which should come with age, prominent pin bones, good fallaway and ring tail, he came into his own with his excellent handler who allowed him to reach his full potential and stride. In an excellent entry of males, he still is very much the youngster but I couldn’t deny him the Res CC which I ran him off against my 2nd place in open who had many similar attributes both young and full of potential, I was splitting hairs however the stride and movement on the last run around just gave him the edge on a very close decision. 

2ND 54 - Cloudside Sunshine (Mr T & Mrs A Reed) Self masked red, litter brother to one and lots of similarities, another lovely balanced male. Really liked his head and expression which already has excellent detailing, tight triangular eye, good neck clean into well placed shoulders, I felt on the day the movement on the first was cleaner coming towards me but it was a close decision, these are both young and full of promise and I am sure over time they will both swap places as they develop.

1ST 30 - Cloudside Soul Prince for Jodak JW (Miss J & Mr M House & Hinchliffe)

 Upstanding, strikingly marked black and cream who headed a nice class. Like with my junior class this was headed by 2 litter mates who both possessed qualities I liked and it was a close decision between them. This boy is lovely to lay your hands on, he has a lot of coat but once you get under that there is plenty to like and he is balanced all through. I feel once he matures he will be extremely impressive, he is very self assured and presented beautifully, he covered the ground with ease and plenty of spring. I considered him for higher awards in the challenge. 

2ND 4 - Cloudside Prince of Theives at Johda (Mrs S & Mr P Bellringer)

Shaded mask gold masculine male, lovely head and detailing, nit picking between the two I would just have liked a slightly darker eye, he has a lovely long neck into well laid shoulders, good forechest and depth of chest, good bone, level topline, good pin bones and fallaway, good tail with ring, short powerful loin, covered the ground well and like his brother he was well presented and handled.

1ST 3 - Cloudside Ebony Prince at Johda JW (Mrs S & Mr P Bellringer)

 Black Brindle male who really caught my eye, he is one I have admired from the ringside, he grabs you the minute he starts to move he just has that natural showmanship that you cant teach and he draws you in. Lovely head and expression, good neck into clean shoulders, level topline, pin bones, fallaway, well set tail, nice low hocks, on the move he excels with a light springy action. I would have considered him for higher awards but sadly in the challenge on the stack he was dropping his topline at that point, this could have been the heat. Nether the less a dog I will watch with interest as he matures.

2ND 55 - Way Up Portofino (Imp Ita) (Mr T & Mrs A Reed)

Another close decision, this boy has a lovely outline, balanced all through, really nice head and expression, correct dentition, good under jaw, good spring of chest, good in topline, fallaway and tail set, balanced angles, moved well with purpose.

1ST 22 - Chinzaes Tartan Tiger (Miss V & Mr I Gleed & Mcpherson)

 Really classic red brindle male of lovely type, he fills your eye on the stack, lovely head and expression which I loved, balanced front and rear, really nice to lay your hands on, clean all through, good depth of chest and spring of ribs, low hocks, strong loin, covered the ground well, presented in excellent condition.

2ND 35 - Katanga’s Captain America (Ms Debi James)

Black male, balanced and not over exaggerated in any way, pleasing head and expression, good neck into shoulders, he was dipping a little in topline today would like a little better muscle definition all through, he was so happy on the move really pulled the stops out and covered the ground with ease.

1ST 21 - Shahfoladi Thunderbird (ai) (Ms M Gizewska)

Black and tan male, he has such a clean flowing outline, really lovely head and expression with nice detailing, slight stop, good neck into clean well laid shoulders, stands over his front and good forechest, presented in excellent ,muscle tone, balanced angles, good second thigh, pin bones and correct fallaway, nice tail set, good length of tail, he moves beautifully and covers the ground well with a light springy action.

2ND 49 - Shimalma Jagermeister (Mrs L Newton)

 Self mask cream, different in type to one, I loved his head piece, so classic and detailed, his outline is clean all through, and one of balance, he is nice to lay your hands on and displays the breed attributes we look for, he was unlucky to meet one on good form.

1ST 43 - Altside Micah Hot Prophet JW (Mrs S Lees)

Self masked cream, he catches your eye for his style and substance, I was looking for a stallion, and on the move he displays that wild athletic afghan ‘look at me’ His handler knows how to get the best out of him and show him off to advantage. It was a really lovely open class of very different types, my second-place male pushed hard however this boy is just coming into his own, he has that maturity of body and strength, he has excellent muscle and conditioning. He has a lovely head with chiselling, good pigment, good under jaw, correct dentition, he looks at you and through you, good neck into well placed shoulders, strong topline, powerful well, muscled loin, pin bones, good fallaway, long tail which if totally nit picking I would like a tighter ring however his overall picture and outstanding movement on the day won him the CC his second I believe, Hopefully his crown wont be far away.

2ND 10 - Way Up Hendricks Gin (Mr Della Rocca)

Red brindle male, I liked him a lot, he was giving away in maturity in this class however his overall quality and movement gained him this strong place and consideration for the res CC. What grabbed me on him immediately on his individual assessment was his far away gaze, all Afghan, I like him for his balance throughout, gorgeous head and expression, good neck into well laid shoulder, good forechest, level topline, pin bones, good fallaway, well set tail, nice low hocks, excellent on the move, covering the ground with light lifting movement, one I am sure with an extremely bright future.

1ST 25 - Merveille De Aikhanoum (Imp Fra) (Miss L Harrison)

Feminine self masked cream bitch, nice for size, for her age she already displays excellent chiselling and detailing, she is presented beautifully, I understand she is the owners first Afghan, her conditioning and presentation was excellent, she is clean all through on examination nothing is over done and displays great balance which she shows on the move. She covers the ground with a light springy action. I am sure her owner will have lots of fun with her as she matures. Best Puppy, Best Special Beginner and shortlisted later in the puppy group, well done. 

2ND 44 - Unstoppable Colors of The Wind of Zantescwtch (Imp Swe) (Mrs K Mcloughlin)

Black and cream, another very feminine bitch, lots to like about her however for me I would like more weight on her especially at this age, pretty head and expression, correct dentition, balanced angles front and rear, level topline, prominent pin bones. Good fallaway, nice long ringed tail, covered the ground well and another who I am sure will be great fun for her owner, she has plenty of promise. Well presented and handled.

Feminine shaded masked red, lovely head and expression, good under jaw, correct bite and dentition, really pleasing outline, lovely length of neck, well laid shoulders, good topline, depth of chest, compact loin, pin bones, good fallaway, lovely angles front and rear. Still very immature in body however has so much promise of what lies ahead, so much I liked about her. Really good on the move, powered round the ring with purpose.

Black masked gold, good head and expression, good under jaw, adequate neck into shoulder, level topline, good fall away, steady on the move. Well presented.

Shaded mask cream, I have admired her ring side from a puppy and wasn’t disappointed. Classic head and expression with dark triangular eye, correct bite, long neck into well placed shoulders, level topline, good sweep hip to hock, long tail with ring, covers the ground effortlessly with reach and drive. 

2ND 33 - Gezancol Finix Love Me Do (Mr C & Mrs G & Miss A & Mrs F Hughes & Hughes & Forrester & Nisbet)

Black and tan, compact all though, she has a lovely head and expression , excellent under jaw, correct bite, strong level topline, good fallaway, balanced angles front and rear, lovely long tail with ring, covers the ground well with light lifting action. Well presented.

Black Brindle bitch, though she may have stood alone there was a lot I liked about this girl, I considered her for higher awards, lovely head and expression, good neck to well laid shoulders, balanced for and aft, level topline, good fall away, well set tail with ring, lovely coat condition, really comes into her own on the move covering the ground with ease.

Feminine black bitch, good for size, lovely head and expression, long neck into well placed shoulders, level topline with prominent pin bones, good fallaway, good spring of ribs, well muscled, she comes into her own on the move, she has that primitive athletic aghan style and movement, light easy ground covering action which won her in great company the res CC today, I am sure this will be just the start for her as she now starts to mature and come into her own. 

2ND 5 - Pramya Keep Your Eyes On Me (Imp Fin) JW (Mrs S & Mr P Bellringer)

Black masked gold, slightly heavier all though than one and I think she was feeling the heat today, good head and expression, correct bite, slight stop, good neck, balanced front and rear, level topline, pin bones, ring tail, on the move she covers the ground well she was just a little hesitant today.

Black and cream bitch, I really love this girl and have admired her for a while, she is so clean thoughout,, feminine all though and her striking markings really catch your eye, beautifully presented both in muscle tone and coat. Long neck into well placed shoulders, good return of upper arm, level topline, good fallaway, good depth of chest, good sweep hip to hock, she has a tendency to ‘chase’ on the move which lost her out on the higher awards sadly today, however once she settles and is confident you see glimmers of just how she is made coming into action, once she settles she is beautiful on the move and covers the ground with ease. She just needs a little more confidence and once she self-assured the world will be her oyster. 

2ND 13 - Way Up Bombay Sapphire (Imp Ita) (Mrs M & Mrs A & Mrs S Fairburn & Della Rocca & Joy)

Black masked brindle, very different in type to one, however another quality girl. Lovely head and expression, dark tight eye, nice detailing, good head and expression, good neck into shoulders, balanced angles front and rear, level topline, strong loin, pinbones, good fallaway, moves with reach and drive, great carriage, well handled and presented.

1ST 18 - Ch Ir Ch Altside Hot As Hell at Affietar (Mr R Gilbert)

My surprise of the day! Firstly I didn’t even know she was still in coat, just 5 months after her litter, they say every dog has its day, well today was hers. She first caught my eye as they entered the ring she was ringside with the wind blowing her hair she was already staring at me as only Afghans can, daring me to look away. The first time I asked the class to move she set off, full of power and attitude. To go over firstly I was blown away by her muscle and hard condition only months after a litter, her coat was impeccable and condition too. She has a beautiful head and expression, long neck, excellent shoulder placement and return of upper arm, good forechest, level topline, long well carried tail, she eats up the ground on the move with purpose, excellent side profile and rear and forward movement, foot perfect with elevation and purpose. It was my absolute honour to award her the CC and Best of Breed and delighted to watch her go Best in Show 3 in a stellar line up.

Similar in type, red brindle, nice head and expression, correct bite and dentition, long neck into good shoulders, level topline,good depth of chest, good fallaway, well set tail, beautifully presented in excellent coat, covers the ground well with easy long strides, well handled.

Shaded mask gold, another I have admired from the ring side and today as a veteran was the first time I got to lay my hands on her, I wasn’t disappointed, everything flows, from her beautiful head to the tip of her ring tail, she is presented in beautiful coat and hard condition. Long neck into well placed shoulders, level topline, good depth of chest and spring of ribs, well angled both for and aft, she moved with purpose with long powerful strides, proving our breed really does get better with age. Best Veteran. I was delighted to see her short listed in a strong best veteran in show.

Dominoe Cream bitch, nice head and expression, good under jaw, good neck into well laid shoulders, another who looks and moves great in her veteran years, level topline, good fallaway, balanced throughout. Moved well, covered the ground well with light lifting strides.
